There were lots of families at the hotel. I saw two dogs. My room was big and spacious, and I loved it and also had a great view from the fifth floor. My bathroom was also big and has shelves behind the bathroom door to get into the hotel from where you parked your car do you have to put your key to the wall and then it let you into a glass enclosed area where the elevator is. That part was not air-conditioned and neither were the hallways but in your room, you could turn down the air conditioner. The breakfast was good and hot. I would stay here again. There was a beautiful aquarium in the lobby.

Past reviews did not give this hotel justice. It is very clean modern, with good service. Management acknowledged the health crisis and was able to provide a safe comfortable stay for us.

Checked in by the amiable Eric who acknowledged us as honored diamond members. Excellent customer service is important to us and loyalty goes both ways.

Our spacious two queen room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We appreciated that housekeeping applied a sanitary seal on the door indicating that it was serviced. Daily Housekeeping, due to the crisis, was upon request only. Staying two nights we chose not to have housekeeping believing that they were busy enough working exceptionally hard. My hope is that guests acknowledge this and tip them well even if rooms are not cleaned daily and that management is financially compensating their staff for working diligently through the health crisis leaving their homes and families to take care of us. They are true heroes!

The amenities provided were typical for this brand. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was modern with a walk in shower. It was very strange to me that there was no shelf or soap dish. Where does one put their shampoo and soap?

Our room had a spacious balcony with gulf view. We sat out there in the evening enjoying our takeout dinner while a refreshing sea breeze made for a comfortable evening.

Due to the health crisis 24 hour coffee was not available. Breakfast however was served by a hard working women who had everything prepared and ready to serve us by 6AM. We appreciated her efficiency and kindness my only regret is that I do not recall her name. She should be accommodated. Our eggs were delicious and we especially loved the fruit smoothies.

Be sure to check out the salt water fish tank in the lobby. Wi-Fi was adequate and complementary as was parking. Please see my attached pictures.

I must say this has been one review that I re-wrote several times. My first version was very direct at the issues I experienced at this hotel. But the GM did listen to my complaints and he personally saw they were handled. While a few things did not happen correctly during my stay he ensured my invoice was corrected as he promised. I will not share all of the bad details of my experience I will give a general overview of this hotel.

The location of this hotel is very good. One block from the beach and it sits between a Walmart and a Kroger so anything you need is very close. There are several covered parking spots directly under the hotel, and there are plenty of outside parking spots in the complex, but remember the parking is $10.00 per day. The Frond desk employees are great. They are friendly and seem to really care about the customers. This hotel offers a free breakfast each day in the lobby areas.

This hotel will only clean your room upon request. You must request a cleaning the day before or it will not happen. When you do request this I would double check the next day just to ensure they have your room on the list so you’re not disappointed when you get back to the room and it is not clean.

We stayed in room 322, king bed with a balcony. Not too good of a view, we could see the ocean but we had to look over the Walmart parking lot. I would suggest a room on the 4th or 5th floor for better views.

Overall the hotel is clean, safe, and they try to do a good job. Good location.

The hotel could use some updating but unfortunately they were doing it all day while we were there. Very loud pounding all day. I realize they have to get it done some time but I feel they should be required to disclose that or not rent rooms right below it.

Otherwise it was fine for the night before a cruise.

I recently returned from a 2 night stay in Galveston. I brought the nasty room to the attention of the front desk and was told there was nothing she could do and gave me the email address of the manager to contact. “Hilton Cleanstay with Lysol Protection” is plastered all over your hotel. It is blatantly obvious no one used Lysol in my room prior to my arrival! I wonder if Lysol company knows your hotel is advertising they clean with Lysol yet have toilets that look like the one in the attached picture?? I sent the following email to the manager and am quite disappointed that I didn’t receive a reply:

“Now that I’m in a position to compose an email let me start by saying I’m appalled at the condition of this bathroom. I was able to get past the filthy shower floor by lying a towel on the floor to shower. The built up pee surrounding the toilet should be an embarrassment! If the shower and toilet are that filthy, how nasty is the rest of the room.

This is a time of heightened awareness of how clean our surrounding are; I have high expectations of hotels when it comes to my health and well-being (especially when I’m paying $300 per night). I expect your staff to keep me safe from the blood and body fluids of the previous guest. At this moment it is very apparent me and my two children were exposed to at least one person’s urine. By the looks of that urine, it appears to be urine from numerous guests. Did you know hepatitis C can be spread through urine?

I paid a little over $600 to spend two nights at your hotel, $300 per night should guarantee a minimum of clean bathrooms!!!

I wanted to address this with you personally in hopes that you have the means to make this right.

I look forward to your reply”

Yet, it’s now more than 24 hours since I checked out and haven’t heard a word. Hopefully your guest relations department is better than the Galveston hotel’s manager at making sure customers are satisfied!

Galveston

This place is independently owned... don’t stay here go to a regular Hilton brand!

We stayed here for spring break. When we checked in the guy at the front desk was sweating bullets. He had his naked pulled down under his nose and rubbing his nose. It was absolutely gross and he had the nerve to ask for my if, I didn’t want him to touch it. His clothes were dirty a d I’ll fitting.
On to the room.. there was blonde hair and stains on most of the towels. The shower had hair in it and there was hair on the toilet. The next morning I told the front desk and the manager appeared unphased and simply said I can work in the front desk guy’s hygiene. Honestly alll look this told me is they don’t believe in cleaning the way I would like.
Next I have added some pictures. If you are like me you read reviews and look at pictures and this hotel has really positive rating and pictures on most sites. Believe me that must be fake because this place is gross. Take a look at the pictures yourself.. and if you decide you don’t trust my review you will be staying at your own risk and cannot say you were not warned!!!

In the pictures you will see one of many bugs who stayed with us.. the rust on the microwave and dents in the refrigerator.. oh and the red stains that is the bed skirt.. guess they thought if they tuck it tightly you would never see it! Yuk!

This hotel is safety-concerned and has made several adjustments to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The property showed signs of wear but it was comfortable. The hotel is about a block away from the seawall. On the negative side, rates rise 150% on weekends.

The hotel looked great very modern clean and spacious. Check-in and check-out was a breeze with the app check-in feature. Had issues with the keyless key entry system from the app. The agent at the front desk said they been having issues with that.

Had issues with the night shift person at the front desk. I asked a simple question regarding the prices of the wash and dry at their facility which was conveniently located just behind their front desk. The agent said I can go downstairs and check myself because it's all done by credit card. I called the Hilton customer service line and expressed my concern and they spoke with the agent and she still declined to assist with the situation. I know it's a small request I'm a costumer that stays at alot of hotels around the world I have never ran into a situation like this before.

I never write bad reviews, I like to tell people about the good things out there. This Hampton Inn has made me break my rule. Here I sit in my what turned into a $300 room, with nothing to show for it. This was an anniversary trip. It started as a two night trip but because rates apparently have to be doubled if you book a Saturday or Sunday and then the booking service tacks another $80 plus dollars for their "recovery" fee, our getaway weekend changed to Saturday night only. Due to my husband's medical issues I chose this hotel because of their hot tub. Shortly after arriving we changed into our bathing suits and walked down to the pool area only to find a weathered sign telling us, sorry the hot tub was broken. The desk agent stated she knew nothing about it and called the pool man. He tells her it has been broken for weeks and doesn't when it will be repaired. That would have been good information to know ahead of time, but since you can't call the hotel directly, how would you know? After the no hot tub, the whole stay just fell apart: went back to the pool hoping that floating in the pool might offer my husband some relief, the area is in such disrepair with lights out, tiles gone leaving sharp edges around the pool, the pool has some sort of jet outlets in it, the covers were off of some of them, leaving open holes all over the pool floor. In our room the toilet runs continuously and the seat is broken, it slides off the toilet; it took over five minutes for the shower to start running warm water, I was freezing by then; Yes, this qualifies as a balcony room with an ocean view, yes the Gulf is over there, on the other side of the hotel next door, the balcony actually overlooks the Wal-Mart parking lot. I could go on but I am tired of typing. We have stayed in Hampton Inns across the country and never experienced anything like this.
