Hotel was clean and room large and plenty good enough for an overnight before our cruise. However, the gauging prices will be keeping the cruisers away from Galveston. No way in the world is any hotel in Galveston worth $300 - $500 a night—stay in League City or Texas City instead. Fortunately was able to book this hotel with reasonable points other wise would have not stayed in Galveston. The hotel has a good location and rooms do have balconies that you can get a small glimpse of the water, However, our view was of 2 older motels, but area was quiet. Breakfast was all carbs, not hot food or eggs. The hotel fit our needs and will stay again, but only if the price is right. We didn’t encounter the Male Manager that gets such bad reviews—all the Ladies at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating.

Like most people (it seems), we were just looking for a quick "post" pandemic getaway. The Baymont is just barely average. Location is ok, walking distance to the beach. We had a room with gulf view on the 3rd floor, beware, due to Covid there will be no room services during your stay. Not room service, SERVICES. No housekeeping, you empty your own trash and place it outside your door daily, take your old towels to the desk for exchange with new ones etc. Breakfast is juice, coffee and packaged pastry due to Covid, we had breakfast out daily. Also, hot water is not guaranteed just depends upon getting up early or bathing late at night. Staff was so-so. I don't choose to stay here next trip, Covid or not.

Hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. Can be difficult to get onto Seawall Blvd. when traffic is busy. Try to get a room on the opposite side of the new LaQuinta next door; the parking lot lights are very bright and shine through at night. Very good value.

Absolutely best bang for the buck.
Why waste money on a timeshare?. This place has become a staple, when we come to Galveston. I’ve seen the reviews, and don’t understand. We come down from the metroplex, and after visiting for 10 years or so, we have never had less than a 4 star experience. (And that wasn’t anyones fault. Covid limited what they could do.
Always spotless rooms, (which I know must be a challenge, with all the sand and salt) but they get it back out. There’s a view of the ocean from every room, courteous staff, Tim, and Ro, (and the team), will stop at nothing to help make your stay memorable.
Looking for something to do? Where are the fishing spots, what’s great for kids? Ask the staff. They're locals and they’re glad to help.
The breakfast is great, cold cereal, muffins, pastries, Texas size, & shaped waffles, milk juice, coffee, yogurt fruit.
There’s a fitness center, Clean lobby, a 2 minute walk from the Gulf. no need to pay for parking, or use a public restroom. walk right across the street to Babes beach. And sun all day. Then ice cold AC in your room, and cable tv to wind down. We bring the firestick, and WiFi works great.
If money is no object, then shop around, but wether you’re ‘balling on a budget’ or just looking for a nice clean hotel room, to crash at, because nobody comes out to Galveston to hang out in a hotel room or look at fancy chandeliers in the lobby anyway. We have stayed at the Baymont in Galveston numerous times and have always enjoyed our stay. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. However, on January 18, 2020, I experienced an unfortunate event in room 221. The metal bed frame extended several inches away from the bed and was very sharp. I ran into it and received a very deep and painful cut on my lower left leg. I did not seek medical attention, but it did cause problems with our cruise throughout the week. Daily bandage changes and no snorkeling or swimming in the ocean. The incident was reported to the staff at checkout and I was assured that the problem with the bed frame would be addressed. This will not affect our future decisions to stay at the Baymont, but I will definitely be more aware of possible hazards in all hotel rooms.

The team at the Baymont by
Wyndham, Galveston location (2826 63rd ST) needs to evaluate their rooms for fit, form and function. Our rooms (#105) air conditioning made an annoying rattling noise and was dirty. We did not stay more than one night due to the condition of the room and other options available on the strip with superior conditions of amenities. The Wyndham team in Galveston needs to do better.

I went to Galveston Texas to board a cruise ..
My husband and I decided to grab a hotel since we flew in a day early.. we came across Baymont. When my husband and I walked in Erica, who is the front desk clerk greeted us and such a happy manner.. she was happy to see us… not only did she make us feel welcome.. but also give us information on what there is a row in Galveston… and my husband is a jokester, so anybody that can deal with his jokes is OK in my book she went along with them, making it such fun to be downstairs talking to her….. when we came back from our cruise, we stayed at the same hotel this time we got to meet a friendly woman by the name of Sheila also works the front desk… not only are the rooms, clean, big and size and amazingly affordable but everyone around there is super nice… I highly recommend this hotel anytime you’re in Galveston Texas.. and right across the street, there is a pier on the ocean where you can get the best French vanilla latte… I was really happy with the experience. I can’t wait to go back. and you can sign up for the rewards program that has multiple hotels to stay in and that you can earn points.

Traveled to Galveston to visit a family member that was passing through the area. Since we were arriving at 5pm, meeting family for dinner, then leaving first thing the next morning we thought how bad can it be for one night. I’d suggest you pass on this property as both queen beds in our room were worn out (you had to hug the edge or you’d roll together into the middle) and very both were very uncomfortable. The “breakfast” consisted of two muffin choices, two cereal, white bread for the toaster, two yogurt choices, apple juice, and by far the worst coffee I’ve ever had (after 35 years in healthcare I can drink just about any coffee on the planet and am not picky in regards to coffee). Like I said for the price I didn’t expect much and got less then what I expected.

We stayed at the Wyndham Baymont on New Year’s Eve after a cruise.It had the basics most people want and large size beds and room. The problem was the smell. It was a very moldy smell on the first floor that made us feel we should change rooms but we were tired and didn’t feel like it. Also the breakfast could be improved with more offerings and fresh brewed coffee. If those things would improve then it would be fine.

Not a fancy place but if you're looking for a clean, quiet and friendly place to lay your head after a day at the beach, this foots the bill. Showers have good water pressure and they have a decent breakfast and good coffee in the morning. Most of the rooms have a small balcony to sit out on. Beds were comfy.

Didn’t use the pool when we were there in December. The beach is a long block (probably closer to two city blocks from the beach and you must cross Seawall Blvd to get to it. That can be tricky during high traffic .
We never had to use a taxi on the island, we always drive down to Galveston. Sorry I can not help you on this question.
The breakfast was ok - not terrific but no one in my family got sick from it. :-) As I recall, there was bread and a toaster, sweet rolls/danish, cereal and milk, and a make your own waffle iron station, juice, and coffee. I don't recall the breakfast times. My family was on the 3rd floor and our room had a microwave and refrigerator - we did the Walmart thing ourselves and put drinks in the ref.
There is plenty of places to park. Even on the really busy days.
