Leaving anyplace at -11 to arrive at 55 degrees is wonderful. Galveston is a rather sleepy location in mid February, much to our liking. We chose this location because it is away from the busy city center and is one of a very few locations ACTUALLY ON THE BEACH. We met Stacy at check in who is very helpful and friendly, as most locals are. We are not coastal people but enjoy good fresh sea food, and we met Sandy (another bubbly local) the next day who had her own favorite restaurants she shared with us. Her recommendations did not disappoint as we enjoyed days of great sea food in Galveston. Being tourists from another state, we were not up to speed on all the roadway mysteries associated with coastal travel. However we met Shelley at the front desk who hastily set us straight with great directions and helpful tips on how to get where we needed to go.
This Holiday Inn experience has been great, with a clean and healthy environment. The pool and hot tub all functioned well with good chemical balance. Beach access was unbeatable and calm. The Holiday Inn SSS ladies were terrific in making our experience worth repeating.

Absolutely love this location, and we're already planning our next trip there.
The grounds are very nice and the beach is so close.It was quite nice to watch the sun go down and come up the next morning over the water, while wrapped in a blanket on the balcony with a warm cup of coffee. I captured some beautiful pictures.
Our bedroom had a door leading to the balcony as well as the door in the living room.
The room was very nice, it was clean and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could ask for. I loved having our own water heater for the unit.. this is great when you have a large tub to fill.
We loved the jetted garden tub and the separate shower that was also huge.
We could have had a newly rennobvated room, and would have been the first people to stay in it.. but my husband wanted the better view of the gulf. With that said... I would venture to say that the new room probably had a new and better mattress. My only complaint was that the bed was uncomfortable, and my back was killing me when I got up in the morning. The only other thing that needed attention was cleaning the ceiling directly above the fans. I only noticed this as I was sitting on the couch looking around and the dust/lint as noticible on a white ceiling.
You won't be unhappy with your choice to stay at this location. I told my husband that I could easily live there.

The staff really want you to enjoy yourself and feel like you are part of the family. The location is right on the beach, it is a bit further down the strip so it is quieter than other places. You will need a car to go to the "strip" as this is not in easy walking distance. It is a smaller resort so it has that "family" feel.

In order to get your room key and parking permit, you had to "visit" with the guy trying to talk you into buying a unit. And they try hard!
Overall, the suite was clean and nicely furnished, however the TV was not a smart TV so we could not stream shows in the evening, but even if it was, the wifi was painfully SLOW and completely unusable at times.... speed test was 1 megabit per second!
Pool was nice. Walk to the beach was nice. Shower was small. Water was barely hot... not enough to use jacuzzi tub.
It was quite a drive from all the restaurants. Doubt we'd stay there again.

When we first checked in we were given our room card keys and attempted to enter our room. The door was deadbolted from inside and we couldn't get in. They had to send maintenance to help us get in. We entered the room and noticed that it smelled really bad kind of like pee. It was a small room like you could rent at Hotel America. It had one dual window that was filthy. We noticed that one window was open about 4 inches and the latch was broken on the other. We were tired after traveling all day and tried to go to bed around 9:00. There were people in the adjacent room and the noise was as if we were in the room with them. They finally quieted down around midnight. We got up to use the bathroom and found a large cockroach. Then we found two more in the bed. Didn't get much sleep. We had a hard time connecting to the wireless and couldn't get a signal. In the morning we went to The hard-core timeshare sales pitch and complained about the room and they said everyone was moving away from weeks and going to points and that was the type of room we could expect unless we spend tens of thousands of dollars and buy into points. After 3 hours of brutal sales pitch we went back to the room and the card keys wouldn't work. We removed the screen and forced the window open to get in. We called the office and they decided to move us to a different building and upgraded us to a larger room. That room was clean and acceptable and no bugs.

We liked the location and set up of the rooms but the bathroom floors in the corners look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. The ceiling fans are caked with dust. I kept having really long hairs stuck to my socks and feet-I have a pixie cut so they definitely weren’t mine. No where when making the reservations does it warn you that the hotel will try to pressure you into a 90 minute presentation about buying one of their units. Tip- if interested in buying one, don’t take their first offer of money or cash back, they will offer more if you say no at first. Besides that, it’s a nice location and the amenities are nice also.

Smaller unit for main 1BR unit. Nice location on the beach, but isolated from town/activities. RCI members will be charged hefty housecleaning fee by resort for partial week, saying it is a RCI fee which it is not.

This property is really good buy all other measures EXCEPT, be aware that they will not under any circumstances refund your deposit (equivalent to one nights stay including fees) if you have to cancel, regardless of when you cancel your stay or why. I cancelled a reservation two weeks prior to arrival and they wouldn't even discuss the possibility of returning my $175 deposit.
Keep in mind, this is a very popular resort and would have no problem filling a canceled reservation with reasonable notice. All other aspects of this resort are excellent.

The booking website for this hotel is extremely deceptive. The only pictures are from the “signature” villas and they only show amenities for guests who stay in the “signature” rooms. No mention or pictures of the other villas that are across the street and do not include the best amenities like the infinity pool. Not to mention that the “regular” villas are not within walking distance of the signature villas and the beach access. Horrible customer service from Holiday Inn. Will never stay here again due to deception.

We just wanted a one night get a way, just to get out of the norm. We also didn’t want to stay right at the sea wall where it’s always busy. This was the perfect place! We got in around 2 in the afternoon and check in was not till 4 pm. We decided to see if our room happens to be ready and it was. Sandy at the front desk was AMAZING! She made you feel right at home and told you all about the property. The pool does look a little bigger in the pictures but it was still great. This is the only pool I’ve ever been to in Galveston that you can actually relax, get in the water and still see the ocean. It is an infinity pool which made it even better. The units are condos so you have everything that you need and it was very well cleaned and maintained. We will be back!

No beach chairs. No rentals nearby. Beach chair rentals are available around 10 mins drive towards Galveston.
Hi Linda! The resort does not have transportation to the cruise terminal, but we can provide some 3rd parties information. As for Uber it depends on the time of day. Can range in price $25 -$50. We hope this helps!
