Detailed Reviews
With a creative collectivist modern vibe, the Lucine Hotel is bringing a fresh pop of culture to Galveston Island. Every bit the beach staple, and located on the famed Seawall Boulevard, the lobby exudes a modern island charm, which is amplified by the attentive staff and first-class service.
Beyond the lobby, a blue and tawny checkered deck surrounds the tile-bottomed pool, which boasts a sitting ledge for submerged sunning.
Ample chaise lounges flanked by teak tables and vintage umbrellas ensure your poolside comfort.
Room 225 came with a private balcony overlooking the impressive pool area. This outdoor space added to the appeal of our room, which kept in step to the hotel’s mid-mod minimalist beat.
Posted pool rules include “no speakers or amplified music”. The hotel provides the ambience and sets the vibe with an outdoor speaker system and curated playlists designed to keep the vibe chill.
By displaying the work of local artists in their den dining area (and preparing to host an artist- in-residence) Hotel Lucine is elevating the experience of island culture.
A rooftop deck overlooking Galveston Bay is the perfect place to rehash the day and discuss dinner plans.
An island gem, Hotel Lucine is ready to step up and compete with traditional options for accommodations on the island. Stay at Hotel Lucine if you are ready to experience a hip but unpretentious approach to hospitality on Galveston Island!
Walk along Seawall Boulevard or escape the road noise by stepping down to the shoreline. Walk a mile to the historic strand to catch a show at the Grand Opera House or the Galveston Old Quarter. Be sure to take in the impressive architecture and see all the island has to offer.
Visit the Ocean Star Oil Rig and Drilling Museum to learn more about this industrial force and its world-wide importance.
We took a drive to Seawolf Park, on a whim of sorts, and that turned out to be a very full experience of bird-watching, fishing, dolphin and jellyfish sightings, Naval history, and port history, all connected by modern infrastructure. A lovely civic walkway and carefully constructed railings connected the Naval Museum to the fishing pier.
A large map of the island indicating cultural points of interest greets guests near the entrance to the naval museum. Signage along the walkway indicates commonly caught fish and alerts to the presence of other wildlife. There is even a play ground for kids of all ages.

Thank you for taking the time to share you amazing experience while visiting Galveston We are so glad you got the full experience of all the history and culture the island has to offer. We're happy you appreciated the easy access to Historic Downtown less than 2 miles away and the beach just across the street. You can't beat that view of the ocean from the rooftop can you?! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the mix of vintage and modern decor. We love to remember our roots as the hotel originally opened as the Treasure Isle in the early 60's. Thank you for your kind compliments of our staff. We all can't wait to invite you back to enjoy more good eats from The Fancy or The Den. We also have live music, check us out for more amazing bands to come! Safe travels, we'll see you next time!

Hotel lucine delivers coolness, a vibe that’s awesome, great food and hospitality. ! Each owner greeted us, Keath and Dave Jacoby and Bobby Marcus. The food at the Den was delicious and the “Fancy” delivers as well with a more refined menu, helmed by Chef Lela Ortiz. The cool laid back vibe serves ultra friendliness with a feeling you're on a new island. Brings back memories of the original Motel The treasure Island built in 1963. The team has provided customers with service, food and a welcome stay with a fun and gorgeous courtyard pool along with those vibe umbrellas.along Memorable art Instalations abound while friends gather to sing and play music on the ultra cool roof top deck taking in views of galveston and breezy days.Truly a game changer for Galveston and a must do!

Staff, food and ambience is top notch at this new refurb of a mid-century motel on the Galveston Seawall (terrific ocean views from the second floor rooftop). The style makes you feel like Elvis or Nancy Sinatra may walk in at any time. Great pool with service/excellent menu and food. Rooms are minimal but have everything--internet/desk/top of the line bath products and shower/comfortable beds and bedding, and remarkably quiet. I'll be back for sure.

Sadley disappointing, I was really excited to stay here as all the reviews raved about it, this is far from a Boutique Hotel which are my favorite, this is a Motel 4 at best, the floors in the room are gray cracked concrete floors with no rugs they look and feel like what I assume a jail cell would, very cold. Not only did the bathroom smell like the sewer, everywhere we walked outside smelled like it. We went up the rooftop to try and get a drink, could not get one, not enough staff, the umbrella we sat under had mold which I did not understand since it's a brand-new hotel. They are still doing work on it and have a long way to go in my eyes, if you are used to 5-star hotels this isn't for you. We left to go to the San Luis, for a good drink and what we are use too. On the positive, the staff were very kind, the AC blew cold air and my husband liked the smell of the body wash and shampoo.

Hi Silvia, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your recent stay with us here at Hotel Lucine. We restored this hotel with the idea of keeping the original integrity of the building from way back when it was the Treasure Isle Motel in the 60's. This is why we have the original concrete floors and bathroom tiling! I apologize for any foul smell you may have incurred while on property. We are in the final stages of our construction process and in the first few weeks of opening and I can assure you that we take your comments seriously and we are working diligently to correct any and all of these issues. I hope we are able to welcome you again in the future to give you a better experience! Best regards, Mitchell Front Office Manager

Hotel Lucine is a gem of a hotel. The owners have thoughtfully curated a space that is cozy, modern and retro-chic. We enjoyed our one-night stay so much we extended it another day. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, breakfast in The Den was delicious and the bath products from Ursa Minor are divine. We will definitely be back!

This establishment should be classified as a motel rather than a hotel, and it does not meet the standards of a 4-star property. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a friendly staff member, and the check-in process was efficient. However, the condition of the room left much to be desired. We always inspect the bedding upon check-in and discovered a torn sheet with both patched and unpatched tears. Although it was replaced promptly, it should not have been in use initially. Additionally, the room lacked a phone, proper chair, a luggage rack, and a coffee maker. While the cement floor is an interesting concept, it was marred by cracks and divots that collected dirt. The bathroom appeared unfinished, with rough surfaces and unkempt corners. On our first night, we received only one washcloth, and none were provided for the second night. The balcony furniture was rusty, faded, and in need of replacement. The most concerning issue was that housekeeping did not secure our door properly, and we returned to find it ajar. Fortunately, nothing was taken. Initially, we believed the price was reasonable, but after experiencing the subpar quality of the furnishings, fixtures, and amenities, we feel it does not reflect good value. We are left feeling misled, suspecting that the glowing 5-star reviews may have been written by the owners' acquaintances.

My husband and I spent the weekend in Galveston and Hotel Lucine caught our eye when finding lodging. We had an exceptional time at the hotel- the bed and pillows were very comfortable (a huge must for us), the service was beyond excellent, and the pool area was a nice break from the beach. We ate at the rooftop bar one evening and the staff was very attentive and quick to get our orders and bring our food; especially impressive considering how many people were also dining and drinking at the rooftop. We would definitely stay again.

The hotel is very unassuming from the outside but inside it looks very updated. The pool area was very nice and clean. I saw people getting drinks delivered to the pool area so that was cool. The room was a little small and didn't have a microwave so that was a tiny negative amongst all the positives. The roof top bar was awesome. Very relaxed atmosphere looking right over the beach and of course drinks and food to compliment the view. Would definitely recommend to anyone

This charming hotel is fresh and clean with a retro beachfront feel. The lounge is a nice place to hang out with a drink. The rooms were spiffy clean and new-feeling with comfy beds. Some reviewers might mention that there's no carpet in the room but I think that's very practical for a beach front hotel were sand comes in all the time and where humidity can make things less fresh. You could tell it was clean.
The rooms have a minifridge with purchasable beverages and there's a little room for a few of your own things. Unlike some chain hotels, the rooms are not full of appliances like microwaves and refrigerator/freezer combos. However, it had everything WE needed. The balcony with chairs overlooking the courtyard an pool was very inviting.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They obviously care about the place and are taking good care of it. The parking was fine altho we were off-season.

We enjoyed our stay this weekend. The rooftop view was amazing g while sipping on cocktails. Here are some suggestions to consider:
Please add French "Creole" items to your menu.
Consider adding a fried chicken sandwich to the cocktail menu, along with the already spicy chicken sandwich which is just so so.
Consider offering boat to table offerings such as fried fish, fried shrimp & fried oyster as well.
Add a rooftop happy hour menu 7 days a week.
Your menu needs to be revised. People like fried seafood when they're on holiday. And please consider adding some pancakes to the breakfast menu!
Everything else about your hotel is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
