I was in town for an extended weekend and wanted to go easy on the wallet by staying here. I've stayed at Motel 6 locations before and found most are okay with a few that were better than expected. This one is second-worst in my experience.
I arrived a little before 8 pm, but the front desk area was locked. I had to go to a side window with a pass-through tray below it. Was I in a high-crime area? It seemed odd. There were vending machines and ice machines behind me and one of them was making a ridiculous amount of noise. The clerk and I were nearly yelling to hear each other.
The room seemed okay at first, but when I took my shoes and socks off, I could tell the floor was dirty. It wasn't long before the bottoms of my feet looked as if I had been walking down the street barefoot. Then I noticed a small sticky spot on the table at the side of the room. It looked like the table had been wiped, smearing the residue, but leaving most of it unaffected. At least the bathroom and vanity were clean, even if the toilet paper could compete for the title of "world's thinnest."
After lunch the next day, I returned to the room to discover the key card had been deactivated. This was quickly corrected by a very polite woman at the front desk, but it left me wondering what problem I would experience next. Fortunately, the rest of my stay was uneventful and I slept well both nights.

At first we were a little apprehensive based on the exterior appearance, but overall it was a pleasant stay. The room was surprisingly quiet to be so close to a major thoroughfare. While not fancy, a clean and quiet room for less than $80 during Mardis Gras in Galveston is a rare find.
One tip - if you end up with a room near the rear, you may hear the train traffic. We were just behind the main building, so it blocked noise from all directions.
As it turned out, most of the overnight guests were there to board one of the two Carnival Cruise Line ships that day (Vista and Freedom).
The not so bad:

The room looks nice and clean office staff very nice and helpful , not a whole lot of noise on back side of hotel where we were staying . Hotel location is not too far from where our group plans to travel on . We are planning a cruise the next day. The pool area and around swimming areas are clean and not bad to swim in pool. Our room looks like it was recently remodeled walls, floor, and bathroom is really a nice size space love how the bathroom was remodeled looks really nice . The bed looks to be clean with clean sheets on them . The pillows not so great with us though. Would have liked to have some or fluffer ,nice pillows in our room . We are also disappointed there was not a microwave, or small refrigerator in the room. Also where is some wall paintings on the walls? I'm just thinking since the room has just recently been updated the staff or whomever just haven't had time to put any up.

My morning was a wreck getting here…Amber made my check in so easy and welcoming. A housekeeper even offered help when my bags were dropping things to my room. All the staff is so authentically nice and professional. My room was immaculate. Everything is within walking distance. Seawall was maybe a 5min walk…I’ve actually chose to extend my stay.

Tried to find a budget friendly hotel, but unfortunately, you get what you pay for. The towels were clean (I hope), but stained. They do not provide any toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, etc, just 1 bar of soap. I had seen reviews of roaches, we did not see any, and the room smelled like 6 gallons of bleach were used before we got there, so maybe that's why. No mini fridge, the ice machines did now, there were cigarette burns on the bedding, we wore our shoes in the shower... it was NASTY! You get the idea.
Do yourself a favor, spend the extra money, and stay somewhere else. You'll be glad you did.

Misty and all of the employees have been wonderful to myself and my dog. All of the staff has been friendly and attentive to any needs of ours. One day there was remodeling by my room and the staff offered to switch me to another room without me asking. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. 5 star rating for sure.

I visited during Spring Break and was grateful to find any hotel less than $100 per night. Just me and my husband so a bed, bathroom and air conditioner is all we need. Visiting daughter in college here in Galveston. Just a note, the website says queen size bed but it is definitely a full size. I hate sleeping that close to my husband but that is my problem :-) Obviously, the clientele is not the same you would find at a Hampton Inn or Marriott but for the most part everyone minds their own business and manners. The staff was efficient and friendly and I had no issues with check in. The room smells like a bleach cleaner was used but I would say in this day and age that is a plus. The bed is clean and neat, the bathroom updated and clean and the ac works very well and is not loud or clangy. The property is well kept and plenty of grassy areas for animals which are allowed. I have no complaints about this hotel even if it is a Motel 6.

U take interstate 8 east its a toll road so if u rent a car get the ezpass with u car rent
There is a microwave and small fridge I do not know if they accept pets as i do not work there. But there is no continental breakfast at this motel 6
