You are definitely paying a premium for this location. Yes, you are within walking distance of the Galveston Fishing Pier and Jimmy's but, everything else would need to be driven to. The rooms facing the ocean are super limited. The halls were littered the entire weekend and the room was super damp when we arrived Friday night. We managed to control some of that with many adjustments to the thermostat over the course of several hours. The beds are much closer to doubles instead of queen size. While they have painted, the quality of workmanship was not there. We had plastic floor trim peeling away from the wall and patch jobs in the bathroom were very sloppy. There was a hole in the floor the size of a man's foot under the carpet next to the bed deep enough to twist an ankle. The parking lot was littered with junk and very tight. I do not recommend anything larger than a regular truck-sized vehicle. Elevator was super slow and favored going down especially to the first floor which is not where most parking is. I can not see paying $609.61 for a standard room, barely a view for 2 nights, tax included at this location again.

I was disappointed with the lack of quality at this beach side hotel. As an IHG Platinum rewards member, I was not able to get an upgraded room with a beach view until available a day later. Toni B, front desk, manager, gave me excellent service and was friendly and helpful. Pros: Great location facing the beach and pier. Walking distance to a few stores and restaurant. Lots of thoughtfully placed charging ports and outlets throughout the room. LED lighting is very good in the bathroom and entire room. Ventilation fan in bathroom. Light over the bathtub. Long vanity countertop. Some rooms have grab bars in tub/shower. Nice on-wall bath products to eliminate single use bath product bottles. Laundry room with 2 washer, 2 dryers. Nice, small outdoor pool. Fitness room with 1 bike and 1 treadmill. Business room with computer. Refrigerator and microwave. Cons: The hallway carpeting is filthy with paint specks and trash. All windows are soiled and can hardly see out the windows. Wi-Fi is practically non-existent. Ice machines were not working on all floors. I do not recommend this hotel.

The staff was nice but nothing was working and you felt like the focus was on the upcoming spring break not current customers. The bed was excellent and the view was great. The hooks to hang robes was missing, the bathroom was not well laid out to access towels after a shower.

Good afternoon, I would like to start this e mail by saying,I m very very disappointed in this location. My birthday was July 11th. I had taken my family to the Holidays Inn Galveston west seawall,when we walked in the room at 4pm ,there was dirty ladies panties in the corner of the room next to the AC unit on the floor,in clear site. Along with blood spots on the pillow on one of the beds. We had call the attendant and complained. She said she was the only one there and she would be up to take care of it. About 30 min later we called again. Still was given the run around. The attendant said she was having some one drive in. Then 15 min later a man with a mop showed up,we let him in and he went to the balcony and swept and mopped it. Then left. We had no idea what he was doing,and neither did he! I called the front desk and explained a man showed up and what he had done. She said he does not speak English and didn't understand her. That she would send him up again. 15 min later he knocked.I stood next to the underware and pointed. He grabbed them with a trash bag and left. Then at 9pm we settled down for bed. As we opened the sofa bed we saw a filthy amount of dried food ,candy wrappers and no sheets! I was very disgusted that my children were going to sleep on that bed. I called the front office again! Informed the lady what we had found. She said she would come up and fix it. I asked were the sheet were? She said that she only gives them out at check in. When clearly she did not give them to me when I checked in!!!!!! So a girl showed up a little after 10pm and wiped off the bed and put sheets on.and left.i took pictures of everything I'm complaining about. This hotel totally ruined my birthday with my family. I will never go back to that location. And I'm disgusted with the service! I will never stay there ever again! I'm very discussed with Holiday Inn at this point! I am attaching the photos I took to show proof of our findings.

Seriously disgusted . We got to the hotel and the lady at the desk was rude & didn’t even know where our room was located. After finding the room ourself. The door was open, beds were slept in & someone must have just recently left the room cause it smelt like someone had just showered. We found a few things laying around the room. We’re assuming it was the people who just previously left. We went downstairs to talk to her about the situation and she didn’t care & told us they didn’t have house cleaning there and said she would give us 20% off. That’s some BS! She handed us sheets for us to change the bedding ourself . Do yourself a favor and do not stay in this nasty hotel.

We arrived at this hotel at 4:30pm after stated check in time of 4pm and our room was not ready. The front desk receptionist told us it would take another 20 minutes but our rooms were not ready for another hour until 530pm. The main lobby hotel floor was very dirty and wet. The view from the hotel across from the seawall was the only great thing about this hotel. Our stay at the other Holiday Inn Express on the seawall closer to Pleasure Pier was a lot cleaner & nicer and will stay there next time instead of this one.

Front desk service and breakfast were great, my picky eaters all found something for breakfast and I appreciated the kind service from the front desk reps. Easily found a cart to bring our luggage in. Parking in back was easy to navigate, front parking fills up quickly.
Reason for the poor rating: the floor in my room seemed like it was going to fall through. There was a spot by the foot of the bed that was very soft and dipped down, we just avoided walking over it instead of asking for a different room as it appeared the hotel was at capacity. The elevator next to room was very loud, at one time when riding it to find a working ice machine it began to shake. The next morning that elevator did not appear to be working. Not what I’d expect from a Holiday Inn, doesn’t appear to be an issue with employees as they seemed very kind but perhaps management or owner.

Look elsewhere. Even though my husband is a Diamond Elite with IHG and we were upgraded to larger room, this is not the place to stay. Neither of 2 outlets in bathroom work so even though blowdryer is provided, you have to use elsewhere. The exhaust fan in bathroom did not work, the body wash dispenser was empty, no laundry bag, endcap gone on toilet paper holder so roll flew off every time, floor throughout room was very lumpy with dips, high spots, and vent down hill a lot towards couch. USB plugs between beds do not work. Remodel of room was worst ever seen as globs of caulk, stains, paint in places and other places paint was not finished. Nice view of beach and beds were clean. Closet door had something spilled down front of door and was never cleaned before we arrived. Breakfast was wiped out of pancake batter, cinnamon rolls, biscuits by 9:00 and never replenished. No one on duty in breakfast room either. Most people eat later on Sundays too. Won’t stay at this one again.

Stayed for one night over labor day and was glad to get out of there. Lobby was filthy. Bathroom had black mold on tile and appeared to be paint over on shower ceiling. Not what I expect from the express brand. TV was tiny. Breakfast was refilled an hour before closing so there was biscuits and gravy as the only choices for hot items. Few Pros were balcony was nice could see ocean. Across from beach.

Hotel is a solid 3 star hotel. Clean with spacious rooms and VERY comfortable beds.
Where they really excelled was their Team. I am retired but was in the hospitality industry 40 plus years in sales & marketing & wished all our Tram Members were as efficient, friendly and helpful with a smile as was Tony at the Front Desk. She was a GEM and called us the day before we checked in to make sure everything was in order.
Special mention also for Kayla Tono at the Front Desk. We returned from Brach Boys Concert at 9;30 PM. She too was very pleasant with a positive attitude. When we went down to breakfast on Sunday Kayla was there to welcome us to breakfast, I joked and said “are you still here”? She laughed and told us she had left at 11PM Saturday to return Sunday at 7 in the morning That is not easy to do.
Breakfast was good and had a very good variety. Kitchen Team kept everything replenished even though they had a full house. We waited on nothing to be replenished. The dinning room was kept clean & inviting and staff was pleasant and courteous.
Good location, clean and comfortable with a Team / staff that provide to you a 5 Star attitude & service especially Tony who was our 1st impression and point of contact. She set our stay to continue to move in the right direction.
