Excellent Value! A great place to get away for a few days. I have stayed at the Sandollar many times over the years, and will continue to do so in the future. Get a room with a kitchenette, and it's a great value for a family. Or, just take that special someone for a teriffic little getaway. The place is...

Stayed in a rv one winter .What a terrible place ,rv people not friendly, the whole place is dilapidated. But the worst thing is the salt mist coming off the bay every morning. It is like walking through a light shower. Why would anyone leave an expensive rv to get a salt bath every morning? The staff don't seem to care, there...

My dad has taken me (daughter) to this place for years when I was growing up. Now I am taking my family and while I enjoyed many past trips, this past July 2014 was alarming. There are so many tell tale signs that this place is deglected and is loosing business. The nice beach in front of the hotel is...

All the floors in the unit are in desperate need of replacing. Fixtures in bathroom rusted. All the furnishings just plain old. Walls nicely painted. Lots of cigarette butts on the grounds. Pools nice and clean.

I have been staying at the Sandollar Motel for nearly 40 years on my birding trips to the Rock Port and Aransas National Wildlife Refuge area. I have also "camped" in my little trailer in their nicely wooded RV park. While this is an older motel, it has been maintained well and has a very friendly and helpful staff. The...

We were very pleased with our recent stay this past weekend. The furniture has been upgraded. New flat screen TV's, nice fridge and microwave and tiled floors. The view was great! very friendly office staff. Rates were great...would love to get a RV spot in the future there......the only thing that needed upgrading was the bathroom. I am sure that...

We booked over 10 rooms here for a family reunion. My room smelled like someone had cooked fish in it. We unloaded and headed to the store to pick up what we would need for the weekend. When we got back, the bathtub was full of water running all over the bathroom and running into the living room. There was...

The Sandollar Resort is a tranquil and beautiful place to stay. The rooms are clean and the scenery is awesome. Clear view of the water, well taken care of grounds with tons of trees and local wild life. There are 2 swimming pools and a fishing pier perfect for families and weekend adventures. I always enjoy my stay at the...

Just as with my review of the historic Weaterford Hotel (Flagstaff AZ), this is a wonderful little place. I am always amazed how people while paying "compact Chevy prices", moan that they didn't get the largest Cadillac. These iconic places offer very decent amenities, historic and iconic older style, great locations, and wonderful management. The Sandollar has two really nice...

“It seems that the motel rooms had better a/c than the kitchenettes. Maybe because the rooms were smaller and it didn't take as long to cool them.”
