My husband and I stopped off at the Herb Farm for two nights on our honeymoon road trip to meet up with our friends and tour the local wineries in Fredericksburg. This place is so beautiful and relaxing, everything about it is peaceful and tranquil, we will definitely stay here again. The cabins are adorable! Each one has a covered...

This is a nice place to get away from the city for a quiet weekend. The rooms are all small independent cottages. Although they are not fancy, they are new, comfortably appointed, and include front porches for sitting and relaxing. Only suggestion: housekeeping could probably be better in the rooms, but this is a relatively minor concern. There are no...

Service was slow....maybe they wanted to force you to look around and buy their herbs and gift items......and the food was just average. Our group had meatloaf, a pizza and two chicken salads. The salads were by far the best items. It is a pretty place and a real change of pace from the touristy places downtown. If you are...

If you are looking for gluten free food, you won't find much here. I settled for a catfish lunch. It was nice but not outstanding. The cilantro dressing was very good. Not a lot of food for $16. It arrived with a couple of filets of small catfish on a bed of greens and a few tiny tomatoes. Like many...

What a great find in Fredericksburg! It's slightly off the beaten track but certainly worth finding. The menu is excellent and the service is very good. There are good choices for men as well as women.

I was so excited about staying at the Herb Farm. When we arrived, grounds and cottages looked so lovely. However, that is where the positive experiences stopped. I will summarize issues: the most uncomfortable bed I have ever attempted to sleep on, poor housekeeping: did not clean shower, toilet or sink, upon check out no concern re: stay. There were...

We had been here for breakfast, n we loved all of it! Espresso was superb! The egg on salmon was super delicious. The outside little country garden outside n the awesome food is just the perfect combination for a soulful meal. It's a bit pricey for breakfast, but it was worth the experience for sure. You can take lots of...

Beautiful gardens to stroll and visit with the herb named cats lounging around then enter a tastefully built bistro/bar. The breakfast we enjoyed was exquisite in taste, Hill Country Omelet, with good coffee to finish. My compliments to the chef. The owner graciously visited with us and shared the rules of shopping "Main Street" The staff was polite and efficient...

No working wifi in our cottage, a tv that turned off when you changed channels, no hot water in the sink and a "hostess" who was utterly unhelpful and in desperate need of training. After a day of ongoing issues with our cottage, we asked to change rooms for the second night. The "hostess" told us there were no available...

My wife and I spent Friday and Saturday nights of Easter weekend in Cottage #1, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The king bed was comfortable, the pillows were OK, and everything worked well, with one exception - we could not stop up the sink. No biggie. Refrigerator and small microwave worked fine. We had our own, so did not use their...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sunday house cottages are unique to this area. German settlers would build these small “City Houses” to use on weekends when they came to town to buy provisions for the week and to also attend Sunday Church services. The Sunday Haus Cottages at The Fredericksburg Herb Farm are patterned after three of the most popular historical designs. Each cottage is similar in ways, yet different in others. The cottages provide all the comforts of home including a king bed, bathroom with shower, granite vanity with vessel sink, comfortable seating, flat screen HD video, high speed internet, ceiling fans and rockers on a porch bordered by white jasmine blossoms. Crushed granite, winding paths lead from the cottages to the Spa, Restaurant, Gardens and Retail Shop. An arbor with two, wide cedar swings provide a relaxing interlude for reflections of times gone by. ... more   less
