Perfect & peaceful. Jim, the Host, was so welcoming and helpful. We truly felt like we were in our own little piece of heaven. Bird watching, enjoying the horses, chickens, and 'Snoopy' the farm cat was just the beginning of our day. Horseshoes, board games, a common pool and fireplace as well. Hiking and views were breath taking! My husband...

We stayed over Spring Break for 3 nights. Our kids, ages 8, 9, 12 and 13, all had a fabulous time. They loved the horse rides so much (thanks to Jim and his stories) that they paid themselves to ride again the next day. It's a great place to unplug (it's Edge out here, barely worth using!) and enjoy the...

We stayed at Quiet Hill Ranch over New Years and had a great time. Our two boys (5 & 8) were in heaven. They loved the animals and "Cowboy" atmosphere. They couldn't wait to check the chicken coup in the morning to see if there were any eggs and just explore. Cooking hot dogs and burgers with an open fire...

Quiet Hill is FANTASTIC!! My husband and I went with a group of friends - one couple per cabin - and had the whole place to ourselves for the weekend. This is definitely the way to go - the lodge is beautiful and it's really fun to hang out there and in the huge kitchen with a group. Not to...

We loved the downhome hospitality and atmosphere. The kids loved collecting eggs from the chicken coop, petting the horses, and making smores around the campfire. My wife and I really enjoyed getting away from the city (especially seeing the stars). However it was only a half hour drive into downtown Fredericksburg and/or Enchanted Rock. Definitely would stay with Jim and...

This was my 5th stay at Quiet Hill Ranch and we have ALWAYS had a wonderful time. This time we had extended family and we rented all 3 cabins for 3 days during summer break. It was nice having the entire Hill to ourselves. Even though Jim and Cindy live a short ways away, you still have plenty of privacy....

We have been to Quiet Hill with children and extended family and also with just the two of us. The view from the hill is breathtaking - especially by campfire at night. It truly feels as though you have "gotten away from it all". The Watley's are very accommodating but also allow you privacy. Must mention the birds watching –...

Jim was nothing but rude. I booked this place for my 91 yo grandmother, mother and aunt to coincide with a family reunion nearby where i stayed with my husband and children. The first morning, I drove up to the ranch to bring breakfast to my family because they had slept in. (keep in mind that there is no restaurant...

I regret that we have received a negative review. In an effort to clarify the situation, the facts are as follows; This lady was NOT a reserved guest of Quiet Hill Ranch. She was attending a family reunion at a neighboring ranch (about two miles distant). When she entered the ranch, I intercepted her and inquired of the nature of...

Quiet Hill Ranch is one of the best bird photography sites in the Texas Hill Country. The owners, Cindy and Jim Whatley, have established a feeding station complete with a photographic blind that allows photographers to sit un-noticed whilst just a few inches from the feeding birds. The number of different species is amazing and I have photographed cardinals, buntings,...

Quiet Hill Ranch Bed and Breakfast is the ultimate in ranch country experience. Located in the Hill Country of Texas, it is the best B&B I have ever had the fortune to stay at. If you are a birder, do NOT miss this place. Jim Whatley built a great birdblind and water feature that brings in the rarities from miles...
