Really nice!
In beautiful contrast to many Marriott affiliate properties that are cutting costs, the Dallas Galleria Westin is worth every penny of their slightly higher rates. Buy. Buy. Buy.
Of course our room was perfectly organized and cleaned, as par / center of the fairway for Westin properties.
But, check this out, the mini bar was fully stocked with top shelf hard liquor and snacks, just right for late-night mistakes. Thank you very much! That’s the way a hotel should provide temptation.
And furthermore, the concierge lounge is open all weekend with great breakfast 7 days a week, fully fresh and cared for by delightful Food Service Director who was charming. She’s from Croatia! And so caring and attentive. It seemed she simply delighted in caring for guest needs and ensuring each of the many tables felt attended to, almost as though we had returned home from long journeys and she was simply thrilled to see us. (Though of course I am old enough to be her father.) It was a joy for me to watch her kindness to not only my lovely wife, but each of the guest couples and singles that entered. As the lounge filled up for Sunday breakfast, she attended to each table efficiently in a first class style of a six star hotel you’d expect to only find in Dubai. Seriously, we will stay again at the Dallas Galleria Westin next time we are in Dallas.
They are competing with Dubai!

I loved it.

We love this hotel! The staff always make us feel special and we enjoy coming here to Christmas shop at the Galleria. The hotel is attached to the Galleria, so we can periodically to drop off packages and rest. We sometimes get a special rate for the holidays, but even at full price the Westin, with its “heavenly bed” is the perfect resting place after a long day of shopping.

My daughter and I just returned from a one-night stay using the American Girl Sweet Dreams package. We had an excellent experience! Check in was very easy, and the women at the front desk spoke in code so that I knew the special items were delivered to our room but my daughter was not aware. The location (proximity to the store and the mall) is excellent. It is also very convenient that you can park in any parking garage and leave your car overnight. The Grand Lux Cafe will deliver to the hotel for no extra charge, so we ordered dinner online and got it from the front desk, following the process detailed in the room. That was very convenient as well. The room had a bathrobe for me to wear as well as free water for Bonvoy members. It was very quiet; we were on the 12th floor. The pool is very nice, a little chilly, but it's heated. They have pool toys for kids too, another bonus.
The American Girl Sweet Dreams promotion comes with:
Doll folding bed (becomes a chair for daytime use)
Matching doll comforter
Doll pillow
Doll bathrobe with real pockets
Doll slippers
Glass jar of strawberry jam Jelly Belly beans and strawberry starburst
Welcome note and American Girl shopping bag
All in all, this was an amazing experience that my daughter absolutely loved! The only downside is that there is no free breakfast, but I didn't expect that for a property of this level.

I rarely do this, but I was extremely disappointed with room service when I asked for a piece of carrot cake and I paid $18 plus tip for something that really is more like a $2 piece of cake. See the picture.

The room is very nice, but I've had to call to have the AC reset several times, because every time I leave the room and come back in it has gone up to nearly 80°. Thankfully they sent a great engineer to the room who explained what he needed to do to fix the issue, but no offense to him he's a great guy but why should I have to do that in any hotel room? If I set the HVAC to 68°, it should cool the room to 68°. Have a nice day.

Worst hotel I have ever booked. First, they told me that it's first come first serve even though I already bought a room for the night and they weren't guaranteeing us a room. I explain that we wouldn't have the money for another hotel somewhere if they turned us away. This was at 9pm. Then once we show up at 1am they tell us that we have to give them $200 extra for the room even though it is not on the Priceline policies they list. They didn't bother to tell us that at 9pm while on the phone so we could have time to figure something else out. Instead of caring, he was very rude and got his security to watch over us. I have a hurt back and having to sleep in the car now.

First, I would like to extend my sincere apologies for any inconvenience or misunderstanding experienced. The implementation of a security deposit is a standard hospitality industry practice and it is in fact stated in our Priceline policies. This measure is in place to safeguard the hotel and ensure we can continue providing excellent service to our guests. It is intended to cover any potential damages to the room or any incidental charges that may occur during the stay (fully refunded at check out provided there are no damages or outstanding charges). In your case, we provided an option to cover this by cash or credit card but when your companion offered his credit card, you declined. Additionally, I would like to address the incident involving our security personnel. Please understand that our primary goal is to ensure the safety and security of all guests and staff members within the hotel premises. Regrettably, if a situation arises where there is a perceived threat to safety or disturbance to other guests, we are obligated to take appropriate measures to address it promptly. Your increasing agitation and escalation despite options provided led to our associate requesting security simply be present. We do appreciate the feedback and wish you luck in your future travels.

The night crew is great. (Thogh they are quitting one by one as the management is really bad here). The day crew is a mix of horrible and apathetic average/don't care. This place is mainly run by incompetent people that will lie to you to make excuses for why they can't do what every other four str hotel does as the basics.

Be prepared to get stuck or delayed in their elevators. I have been stuck twice in these elevators and then they "solve this" by allowing you to use the service elevators which are now backed up as well. Long delays. This has been going on for months, but they are too cheap to fix them. Basic stuff like this. They seem to survive because of the good location and connection to the mall.

Also weird that this is the only hotel in the greater dallas area that forbids delivery to your room for things like uber eats, instacart, or other. All it takes is a phone call to verify that the deliver is authorized to send them up, like 99% of the other hotels do in Dallas. Why? One hotel front desk person lied to me and said it was a "Covid regulation forced upon them". That's a lie, and a bad one. This is aug of '23. Cmon.

I keep having to stay here because my business client has some deal with them, so I will complain here in the hops that corporate Westin will notice these systemic problems and fire them.

I booked here for a two nights while visiting the Dallas area with family members. I booked here primarily because I found an excellent deal via Priceline which essentially halved the price.

The location is probably the biggest strength of the property: it is located directly inside the Galleria with direct access from the lobby and has easy access to I-635 and I-35 East, making travel to essentially any place in the metroplex quite simplistic.

At check in, I noticed something off about the receptionists working at the front desk. They weren't necessarily cold or unfriendly, but they did not seem to be overly helpful. They seemed to be busy answering calls a number of the times I was in the lobby, which is probably more of a staffing issue than an issue with the staff themselves, however, the staff also missed information such as explaining where amenities such as the pool were or failing to mention that the internet was not actually free (more on this later).

The room in general was decent, but not overtly good. It was spacious and comfortable enough, with a nice chair and sitting area near the window, but there were a couple of blemishes that were missed. There was a light, unidentifiable stain on the comforter, which was easily identifiable with a slightly closer. The glass on top of the desk felt rough and the smoothness of the glass was uneven, indicating questionable wiping of the surface. The sitting area near the window had a number of spots of discolouration in the wood that separated the seat from the windowsill which appeared to be the result of staining.

The bathroom was a fairly tight fit but was mostly clean and the granite countertop appeared to be free of any grime. However, the caulking in the walls of the shower showed slight mould growth in more than a few areas.

The parking situation is also highly confusing as the parking lot directly in front of the hotel is reserved for valet parking only, the free parking is in the basement level of the Purple Garage.

One major issue I found was that the internet was not free in room, which was contrary to what was described. When I inquired about this discrepancy, I was told that the hotel only has free internet in the lobby which third party sites label under the generic phrase "free internet". While I understand that the hotel probably has little control over what is advertised on third party websites, this could at least be addressed by the receptionists upon check in.

Thank you so sincerely for the feedback. We have escalated your comments to the department heads in all areas noted and look forward to the opportunity for training and growth for our team. We also appreciate the chance to address the blemishes in the room – however we would need a room number and/or full name in order to do so, if you could please contact us directly we can be sure to address all issues. We are genuinely sorry that your stay was so disappointing as this is certainly not the experience that The Westin Galleria Dallas has long been known for. And we apologize at the many missteps in communication. Please know that all Marriott Bonvoy guests receive free internet at every one of our 30 brands, and we are sorry this wasn’t made instantly clear. Again, thank you for the feedback – it only makes us better.

I give The Westin Galleria Dallas a 2 out of 5 stars for customer service. The night shift staff are rude, smart alecks, dismissive, and don't answer the phone half the time. I am disabled and requested a room with an accessible bathroom for a wheelchair or walker and I was placed in a room with a single grab bar for the tub. I almost broke my neck trying to use the shower and the tub. Since this is my second stay at this hotel and the customer service is worse each time, I have decided this is my last stay. I can go to the Hampton Inn or a Holiday Inn Express for half the price and better customer service.

This hotel us In crazy serious need of renovations. Elevators were out due to an “electrical issue.” The bathroom was severely outdated but the biggest problem was the mold all over the tub and shower. When I asked if someone could clean it the hotel sent someone up who apparently sprayed a little bleach that did little to help. Pictures here are AFTER the “cleaning “. When I brought it to the hotel’s attention they said they would try again but never did and basically told me “too bad.” As a Marriott gold for life…sometimes platinum member i say run from this dump with terrible management.

Lifetime titanium elite (husband is the member)
Front desk rude because the manager on site was worse.
Booked 2 rooms but my husband couldn’t check in at the same time. We were told no upgrade, no Bonvoy benefits etc
The manager “claimed” they received an email that day (10/24) corporate sent a letter don’t award benefits for Bonvoy unless both occupants are standing there.
It’s a shame customers since Covid put up with almost zero services with little discounts & now things are back to normal the bear minimum service with higher prices.
Stay somewhere else where your business is appreciated.

We genuinely apologize for any rudeness you experienced at our hotel. This is not at all the excellent service we are very well known for and we'll be using this feedback for retraining. We are also sorry for your disappointment about the Marriott Bonvoy rules. Unfortunately, the front desk agents were correct that the program does not allow us to provide benefits without the member present. It is strictly an individual program, so a spouse cannot use the member spouse's benefits. We understand this was disappointing and it sounds like we could have communicated this much more empathetically. For that we're very apologetic.

We are SO sorry we didn't get a notification of your question earlier. No we do not have a spa on site in the hotel, although we do have a service offering in-room massages and there is also a nail salon inside the attached Dallas Galleria!

Thank you for your question! Our Second Floor Kitchen restaurant has been reopened for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays, as has our bar on Friday and Saturday evenings. In addition, we have a partnership with Grand Lux right next door for easy ordering and food delivery directly to the hotel. For snacks, including alcoholic beverages, we have a sundry market in our lobby. There are dozens of dining options here at the Galleria mall and within a short drive, as well. Thank you for your interest!
