To begin let me say that this was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my entire life. I am now driving back to Sreveport Louisiana and as my fiancée drives I plan to write nothing but complaint letters and write negative reviews. Our stay was at the motel on forest lane in Dallas. We checked in around 4 and dropped our bags off in our room, then immediately left to go to dinner and a show. Upon arrival back to the room at approximately 11, we noticed as soon as we opened the door, an incredibly strong aroma of marijuana. Being a US Marine and my fiancée being a nurse, we do not put ourselves in that sort of environment willingly. We do not do illegal drugs and do not want to be around it, let alone have our belongings smell like it. I immediately went down to the front desk to inform the manager on duty about the problem. I told him that I did not want to stay in that room, and that I would either like a different room or a refund. He told me that there was nothing he was willing to do about the situation. I recorded him telling me this and being rude to me and am willing to provide you with the video caught on my camera phone. Then he sent the security guard up to my room, which I also recorded. He stated in the video how he could also smell a strong odor of marijuana. At this point the manager came up and also stated that he could smell the strong odor of illegal drugs. I requested for them to find if the smell was coming from the room next to us (that is all that makes sense) and he told me he would not. I asked him repeatedly to call the police to take care of the matter to which he ignored me and went into the office and locked the door. I proceeded to call Expedia to get a refund, and they told me over and over again that they would have to speak to the manager to authorize the request. I could see him inside ignoring the calls from expedia as I stood outside. I ended up calling American Express and canceling the payment since we would not be staying at some drug infested hotel. I could not believe that this is how a national chain handles their customers with situations involving illegal drugs. I plan to never spend another dime with a motel 6 as this was my first and only experience with motel 6. I want to know what is being done to handle this and why I was told that the police couldn't be called as requested. I plan on sending this into every military blog and website I am a part of, along with every news station I can find. The videos can be sent to you also if you would like.
Extremely dissatisfied,
