The CANVAS Hotel stands out for its lively, stylish atmosphere and eclectic decor, particularly its vibrant rooftop scene, although it's worth noting that noise has been a concern for some guests. The spotless rooms and clean environment are consistently applauded, contributing to the hotel's modern urban charm. While the rooms receive compliments for their style and comfort, guests have mentioned thin walls and a desire for more amenities. The location is appreciated for its downtown proximity, yet ongoing construction has been flagged. Rooftop views and friendly service are highlights, but the value proposition is questioned, with some guests feeling the cost does not align with the amenities and services provided. Additionally, disruptions from both the street-level and rooftop bars contribute to a higher noise level that can affect guest experiences. Despite this, the hotel's staff is often recognized for their attentive service, although some improvements in shuttle service and restaurant wait times have been suggested.

I have an obsession with boutique hotels right now. The main entrance is off to the side, blink and you will miss it. Walking in, wow, their lobby is aesthetically pleasing. The front desk staff was so helpful and during a time like this (COVID), I not once felt unsafe. Ethan Brown, the hotel manager went above and beyond to make sure my visit was to my liking. My room was spacious and comfy, I could also cast my Netflix onto their TV. Everything was very clean, hand sanitizer dispensers at every elevator.
The rooftop pool was BEAUTIFUL. The pool was a bit smaller than what you'd expect from a huge chain hotel, but seeing as how it was a boutique hotel, it was very fitting. The bartenders came to us, as social distancing guidelines right now do not permit ordering at the bar. They were very attentive and the drinks were strong! You have the option to charge to your room, which was nice so I wasn't digging in my wallet with wet hands. The guests we met were so nice.
My stay was great, I can't wait to stay again. I happened to book the weekend of the protests, but the security personnel not once made me worried or questioning the safety of the guests, staff and hotel. When I come back, I'll try the food, til then!

We booked the room because we wanted something that wasn't so boring. Well, this place is quite nice! Big room, super comfortable bed, and pretty good location! Very easy to get to the downtown area by tram. The staff were very nice and accommodating.
The only thing(s) that prevent it from getting 5 stars are really the lack of attention to the details. The door to the bathroom was a sliding door and there was a clear line of sight to the front door to the shower when it was closed. There was not a lot of light in the room. There were no overhead fixtures in the main part, so the room gets pretty dark on overcast days.
We were there mid-week, so noise really wasn't an issue.
I would definitely stay there again.

I don’t normally write reviews, how Courtney T, Logan, and CeCe are hands down the best hotel batrtenders I have met. If you want a custom drink that is made by the bartenders simply ask for the base and the style you want and they will make you drink that’s beyond your expectations. I am a huge whiskey person and Logan recommended me and one of the best whiskeys I’ve had in the Dallas area. Courtney made the best fruity drink I think I’ve ever had which was simply just a basic in and I asked for tropical, I know I would come back just for her bartending experience. Courtney made probably the best spicy cocktail or iPad with a base of vodka smooth space and smooth, which is what I look for in a spicy drink. If you come to canvas visit the rooftop bar in the pool before 8 PM and look for these three bartenders and they will provide you the best cocktail experience you have in Dallas.

This weekend my husband and I checked into the Canvas hotel to spend a weekend away for our anniversary. We picked the Canvas hotel based off the location, industrial style rooms, and its rooftop pool and lounge area. We were looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend spending time outside at the pool. When booking the room, I checked to see if there were any events taking place as I noticed they often held “pool parties” on the weekends. There were none listed. I called and confirmed with the hotel that the pool would be open and was told 9-8 on Saturday. There was no mention of any events. I arrived at the pool at 10AM and got a chair with my husband. I had not been at the pool even 30 minutes when a man approached me and told me I “needed to move.” He informed us that they were hosting a pool party at 1 pm and we were in the way of them setting up. The pool at the Canvas hotel is extremely small and there was no where else to go. I asked if we could move our seats and he said no that we would still be in their way of setting up audio equipment. He then informed me that if we wished to stay on our pool chair we would have to pay extra money for the seat because of the “party” they were throwing (this was NOT in a cabana area, just a standard pool chair.) He then informed us they would be shutting down the pool entirely at 12 and would reopen for the party at 1pm, in which we would need special wristbands and an extra fee for the chairs if we wished to participate. As someone who is a paying guest of the hotel, it is extremely disappointing to not be given access to and expected to pay extra money for an amenity that is supposed to be included in your hotel stay. If you plan on staying here, be aware you may have extremely limited access to the pool. If the pool is important to you, consider staying elsewhere. My husband and I cut our day short at the Canvas Hotel and will not be returning. Only stay here if you wish to have people who care more about hosting parties for the community than their paying hotel guests.

Cute place . But that’s it. We paid to stay for the weekend and not once did they replenish our towels or rags, check on if we wanted our beds made, or change the trash. The hotel is NOT SECURE . They say you have to have a key to get onto the floors with rooms but that is not the case . The negative thing about this is that they let anyone off the street come in to go up to the rooftop pool and bar . And any of them can get onto the floors where people stay. The walls are thin so you can hear EVERYTHING . Another thing about the pool is that is is one thing that drew us to stay here and it’s extremely small. So you would think only hotel guests can use it . No, like I said anyone off the street can come up and we were not able to get in or find a chair at all. There is only one working elevator, and again, because they let anyone in off the street the line is so long that we used the stairs most of the weekend which again , the access to floors with rooms were not secure . We were so creeped out about some of the things happening up on the rooftop as well that we did not feel comfortable hanging out up there . We also did not sleep the second night due to the fact there were people partying so loud and we just felt unsafe . If you are looking for a party spot that has cute decor , sure stay here . But if not , look else where .

First I’d like to say that despite all of the frustrating things that happened most of the employees who work at canvas are helpful.
The first night I stayed I could not get the door that was connected to a separate room to lock. I could not get the main door to lock. The bathroom door fell off the rail. They told me they would have my bathing suits at the front (I left them there but sent a message shortly after I left), I drove 1.5 hours the day before my flight to pick them up and the man at the front desk says they don’t have them and they never found them. So in total I wasted 3 hours of my day driving ( to be fair him and the other woman at the from were nice about it, I know it wasn’t their fault). They give you a door tag that says strip my canvas but turns out you have to call and request a clean up of your room.

Jacob at the front desk was wonderful, he brought us fresh towels almost everyday because we had no idea about the cleaning policy and he Even helped me carry waters to my room.
Amber was so sweet the entire time.
Cedric (I believe that was his name) came up to my room and helped me get the barn door off the rail. He was the nicest man there . Every day that we ran into him after that he wanted to make sure everything in the room was safe. The door was very heavy.

One man at the front desk was a complete jerk about the fact that I asked for my room to be comped.

The pool is wonderful!!!! The bar staff is so nice. Also we rented an electric car since we were going to be in Texas for a week doing a lot of driving. All except one of the chargers were broken.

If you want to stay 1 night and chill in the pool I’ll recommend but if you have to stay more than 1 night don’t do it. A lot of reviews said this hotel was noisy but I didn’t have to big of an issue with that.

The only reason this hotel is getting a 3 for
Service is because of CEDRIC, JACOB, AMBER.

And One man from maintenance who helped me lock the connecting door but I did not get his name. Otherwise I would have given it a 1

My stay at the Canvas hotel was excellent. From check in to check out. The whole staff was friendly, helpful, and answered any questions I had during my stay. Stassie was exceptional in helping me get the best room with a view and in helping to decorate my room beautifully with rose petals and champagne, they provided chocolate covered strawberries as well which was so nice, and they were delicious! The room was decorated so cute and I loved the industrial loft style through out the whole hotel, very unique and cool. My partner and I loved every moment of our romantic hotel getaway. On top of the great service they also have a beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant (the food was delicious) next to the rooftop infinity pool, which is heated so it can be enjoyed even in cooler months. Overall I would recommend Canvas hotel to anyone looking for a more unique and artistic hotel experience that is sure to put a smile on your face. :)

so i booked here last night. as im still here because check out time is at 11 am! the rooms is very small! the reviews on here are nothing like what the hotel is about! i booked off expedia and when i arrived i was told they put a card on hold for incidental fees and they get to keep $20 of it and it goes towards discounts in the hotel! a discount that we only got $2 taken off the price! and that it would take 5-7 business to get it back!!im on the 2nd floor with a window view of a tree, next to a group full of teenagers who were up all night long til about 4 am partying with loud music all in the hall ways!i told the front desk that they had alcohol and nothing was done! its not a limit of people that you can bring here!!it was people who didnt even have reservations that i met last night on the roof top that said they just come in the hotel alot to go swimming on the roof top! a burger and fries was $18! shower is amazing & bed slept very comfortable! drinks were also good! tv is small and so is restaurants! no curtains on windows just a shade! no microwaves through out the entire hotel! this is not worth the price! the other rooftop hotel has a far better view for a cheaper price and its more elegant! on expedia it shows i paid for taxes and fees! but at the hotel they get to keep $20 of your money just for booking there when they hold your card! the screen shot of extra fees is what the manager said he see on his computer! but when you book online its not there! when asked why people who book dont see it... he says he not the owner you have to call another number

I loved everything about this hotel until it was time to go to sleep. The noise from the rooftop bar as well as from the club across the street was horrible. I could hear every word of every song and person on the microphone until 2am. Luckily I did have a pair of earplugs and I had to wear them to sleep. The hotel should provide all rooms with earplugs or do something to dampen the sound.
