Let me first say the pictures posted are outdated. The owner has made a few updated changes to the property, such as flat screen television and a new futon sofa. I stayed at the Abby Guest House from May 13th - May 20th in 2015, while my mother and I visited Dallas to spend time with family. Normally I stay...

We booked the Abby Guest house on airbnb through Julie, the owner. Julie is very responsive, responding to our communications quite quickly! The property is in a beautiful neighborhood, close to the city, TCU, Highland Park and some great restaurant options (many within walking distance). Julie's documentation on the guest house and on Dallas was provided in tremendous (and accurate)...

In the middle of downtown Dallas off the freeway, this cute little one bedroom apartment was a slice of heaven for me on my vacation. The apartment is in a quiet upscale neighborhood with easy access to shopping and dining. The apartment has a very cozy feel to it. I would recommend this apartment for someone traveling solo or as...

My daughter (5 years old) & I stayed at Abby Guest House earlier this week for two nights/three days while we "played" in Dallas. We were absolutely at home there. It was the perfect rental for us to feel safe, at home, & comfortable. The owners were incredible & very hospitable. They made sure we settled in nicely. The little...

The Abby Guest House, once I got settled, was fine. I have to agree with the previous reviewer, that sadly, it was not clean. It makes no sense to me to rent a place for a month, and have no place to put my things. The closets and cabinets were all stuffed with useless things, so that if you did...

The guest house is not a hotel it is a home that is available for rent. There are many things in the guest house we provide guests based on requests from past guests. These things include assorted toiletries, a drying rack for clothes, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, hangers, extra linens, games, etc. These are all things that guests have...

Upon arrival in the apartment you find a sign asking you to clean the apartment or leave USD20 as a cleaning contribution. For whatever reason the apartment is not clean and also unfortunately badly maintained. The apartment concept is great but some serious work needs to be done on the property - especially regarding cleaning the kitchen, throwing away old...

We politely ask guests to respect check in times so that the guest house is prepped and ready for their stay. If a guest checks in prior to check in time, it may not be ready for their visit. We love our guests and want them to enjoy their stay as much as possible - we ask they respect us...

As the other reviewers have said, Abby guest house is a comfortable little one bedroom cottage in a back yard, in the lovely tree-lined suburb of M Streets. It's great value for money and has a lounge room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and separate toilet. Being so close to Greenville Avenue, we ended up eating out most of the time rather...

This is a little one bedroom granny flat, free standing in a back yard inner suburban Dallas. Location is well placed even without a car. 10 minutes walk to restaurants, less than 5 mins to bus to downtown or local dart station. My husband and I were on a lay over between international flights - took free shuttle from airport...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A cozy, fully furnished haven in the heart of Dallas, the Abby Guest House is conveniently located in the popular M Streets - within walking distance to the nightlife, shops, and restaurants on Greenville Ave, Knox Henderson, Mockingbird Station and Uptown. The best part of Dallas to be in! DART, the public transportation system in Dallas, is within walking distance. There is a bus stop on the corner of the block. The guest house is a great getaway for a single traveler or a couple who wants to walk to the Dallas nightlife from a quiet residential setting. There is a private entrance from the front of the main house to the guest house in the backyard, via a security gate. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and eating and includes stove top, microwave, toaster oven and refrigerator. The bedroom features a very comfortable queen size bed and includes linens. Extra pillows and blankets are provided. The television in the bedroom includes a library of DVDs and VHS tapes. There is a twin futon couch in the living room, and an inflatable queen mattress. Streaming TV includes premium movie, local cable and music channels. There is WIFI internet connection as well as books, magazines, board games, maps, guidebooks, and menus of favorite restaurants. The guest house includes a large bathroom (shower only) and private toilet area. Extra towels and many toiletries are provided, including a hair dryer and curling irons. An iron and ironing board as well as a dryer rack are available as well. Parking is free and readily available on the street in front of the house. The best feature is a wonderful friendly old Great Dane named Hamish who's happy to say Howdy. Dallas is a great place to visit! Spring and fall the weather can be very mild. Summers can be very hot. The temperature in the guest house is personally controlled with AC units, fans and space heaters. The guest house is green and guests are asked to preserve electricity and turn them off when not in use. The guest house is about a 20 minute drive to the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington. It is also close to downtown, Fair Park and the Convention Center. The guest house is comfortable for one or two people to stay in the bedroom where there is a queen bed. There is also a queen size pull out sofa in the living room that can accommodate 1 or 2 more people for an additional fee. Please keep in mind the owners work full time jobs and may not be home to personally escort you in but they will leave a way for you to check yourselves in. If you require assistance let them know in advance. The guest house is a great place to stay for budget travelers who want to experience a hot spot in Dallas as a local. It is not a hotel or B&B with a maid service. Guests are politely asked to respect the guest house and clean up after themselves, or pay a $25 cleaning fee. ... more   less
