The Statler Dallas, Curio Collection by Hilton impresses with its elevated atmosphere, blending luxurious touches with retro charm and modern amenities for a uniquely inviting experience. Many guests commend the attentive service, though a few note inconsistencies. The hotel's cleanliness is consistently lauded, with rooms praised for their spaciousness and upkeep. While some travelers find the decor a bit dated and the value contentious due to pricey extras, the array of dining options and vibrant rooftop scene, coupled with its prime location near downtown attractions, often outweigh these concerns.

The Statler is easily, without a doubt, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. There are so many warm things to say about this icon in Downtown Dallas. Along with the old school nostalgia that comes with this place, I loved just about every heartwarming song that played in the lobby as it is more than just the old school cars out front that took you back to another era of what travel used to be like in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. This old fashioned place is truly about making your stay an enjoyable experience even for a Steelers fan. This unique location is a historical landmark, not just in Dallas, not just in Texas but all across America as more hotels should strive to be more like the Statler. More gorgeous than this property and its views are the people working here as these people really take southern hospitality to heart as they are head and shoulders above most other hotel properties. Not only would I stay here again, I wish more hotels in the Hilton Family especially in California and Florida were half as good as this place. You know a hotel is special when the awesome scenic spectacular 360 rooftop views of Dallas are actually not even close to being the best thing to appreciate about this hotel. Sure, the pool overlooking the city is reminiscent of something that you might find in L.A. or Miami, but you come away touched by the warm people here as that you can't forget or easily replicate. The Statler is in great hands as the General Manager Ryan was a very understanding and pleasant person as you saw a trickle-down effect of warmth and hospitality from him throughout the hotel staff. The super friendly, first-class management and employees really shine here as it stands out like the Dallas Skyline does at night in the Texas Sky. The crew out front was very welcoming, especially Scott as he was such a warm, charming, and jovial guy as he made me love Texans with heartfelt fondness and this is coming from a guy who always welcomes an opportunity to banter with Texans about Dallas Cowboys Fans. Throughout your stay, you are always welcomed with warm, exceptional, courteous customer service as it reminds you how human beings should strive to be towards each other in everyday life. The Statler Hotel is always first class as everyone here wants to make things right with you and the people working here live up to being a special experience and not just another hotel stay. Every city needs a classy hotel landmark like Dallas has with the Statler. The timeless old school heartwarming atmosphere of this place just sticks with you as this property has an old soul to it. You wish more hotels had that magical effect that you just don't experience anymore in today's society. What an amazing place to stay as this is not just a hotel, it's a time machine to the good old days in America that our parents and grandparents got to experience.

My husband and I spent our wedding night at the Statler. As soon as our getaway car rolled up to the front, the Statler staff rolled our the red carpet for us. They checked us in immediately, got our luggage, offered a beverage on the house, congratulated us, and escorted us to our room. The rooms as the Stalter are lovely. The food offered on the room service menu is very tasty and is reasonable in price as well. Hotel staff was always very friendly. The breakfast in the morning was a nice perk, and we loved the Nespresso machine in the room. We absolutely loved our stay and would not hesitate to stay at this wonderful hotel again.

The hotel was updated about 2 years ago. The design is nice. Room refreshment each day was spotty and hotel had to be reminded on several days to service the room. The restaurants are expensive and service was minimal. The fine dining restaurant called Fine China had poor quality food preparation and service was minimal. There is no place to get coffee after 4pm when the cafe closes.

There was security on every outside door 24/7. While the hotel is in the business district it is not a great neighborhood.

Dear Elkwriter, Thank you for your feedback on the experience you had with us here at the Statler Dallas. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about the visit. As someone who travels quite often, I can understand the frustrations of having minimal service during a visit as well as the appearance of a bad neighborhood. We do staff security throughout the building as a preventative measure for the safety and security of our guests, as do the majority of downtown hotels. We provide our teams with a multitude of customer service training and unfortunately, we failed you on this visit. We would love the opportunity to have you back as our guest to give you the experience you deserved. Feel free to reach out to me at ryan.miyamoto@thestatlerdallas.com as I look forward to having the opportunity to make this right for you.

I am a well traveled Hilton Diamond member. We had guests in town and wanted to show them a great time in downtown Dallas.
Upon checking into our rooms, there was a musty smell. The housekeeping person was called and immediately opened the air filter area. She sprayed Lysol in the air filter which made us curious. When the air filter closet there was at least three inches of old dirt and dust on the filter and it almost looked like mold and had a green tinge. The walls have dirt and scratches on them and baseboards look like someone kicked them.
When I went to the front desk to voice my concerns the person working the desk could have cared less and did offer to change the filter. There was zero apology. It appeared that this must be the norm.
When the maintenance men came up they were familiar with the smell and said they would change the filters and ask housekeeping to again clean the room.
Hilton states that they are doing everything to keep guests safe and the hotel is supposed to be extra clean during the COVID pandemic but this was the opposite of what was advertised.
Breathing air from a filter that probably hasn’t been changed in a year with green mold and dirt and dust is the opposite of what I would expect from a Hilton property.
I wasted hundreds of dollars and Hilton Points to stay at this dirty property.
Do not stay here.

MLC276, Thank you for being a valued Hilton Honors member and for allowing us the opportunity to hear about your experience. I am however, embarrassed by your experience to say the least. From the cleanliness to the service you encountered overall, is unacceptable and very alarming. We take pride in all of our cleaning precautions and standards that we have put in place to ensure the best guest satisfaction and comfort, especially during these times. I personally am very sensitive to air quality and can understand how an improper care of an HVAC unit and filter can be uncomfortable. We will begin to address these shortcomings with our team and begin to correct them immediately. I would love the opportunity to make this right for you and further discuss your experience. If you allow me to do so, please reach me at ruth.marin@thestatlerallas.com. Thank you again, and look forward to connecting soon.

Hadn’t stayed there in many years and property had obviously been upgraded since last visit. Mostly dined in hotel eating conference provided meals. Not sure if it was their selection but cuisine was decidedly average. Worst experience was in the Chinese restaurant where I paid an exorbitant sum for stunningly small portion and again average meal. I am dieting so asked for some blackberries instead of the price fixed dessert option. Was charged $12 because “the chef had to walk to another restaurant on the property to get them.” Next time tell me beforehand. The restaurant manager refused to remove the price but guess changed he mind since final bill was less $12. Even though wine was served I was never offered any in fact my wine glass was removed. And my appetizer was not delivered until I asked if they had run out 10 minutes after everyone else received theirs. As to the room, it was fine although after leaving my soon at 7:30 am and returning at 3:30 pm was surprised to see it hadn’t been cleaned. Nothing worse than having only 30 minutes before your next meeting and not being able to use your room because housekeeping could show up any minute. Couldn’t clean it during the 8 hours I was gone? I know bars tend to cater to millennials these days but was surprised when one of my colleagues ordered an after dinner port in the basement bar but was told they don’t carry it. What bar doesn’t stock port? Dozens of different bourbons and scotches but no port. Especially at a retro bar. For my taste, the downtown Hyatt is a far superior option at that price point.

brianmO8658BK, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the experience. As i travel for business quite often, i understand how much food really affects my mood as well as happiness on business trips. The service you got is not indicative of the experience we set for any of our guests and we are disappointed to hear about this. Typically, we hear great things about the food and service in Fine China, we will discuss this with the team to ensure we all are on top of our service standards with all of our guests. Took a mini-staycation with my partner and was underwhelmed by the condition of the rooms. There were glass rings on the table. Trash already in the bins from the cleaning crew or the last guests. Drapes didn’t work and had to be pulled manually. The controls for the drapes and lights were chipped or broken with exposed wires. The comforter had someone else’s hair in the sheets and purple pen marks. The “In-Room” dining requires you to go pick your food yourself (Covid) and even if you order ahead and they give you an exact time on when to pick it up, you still have to wait an excess of 45 minutes before they let you know that they JUST started making it. Pass! For the premium rates, I expect premium service. The hotel boasts about the lovely art depicted in the hotel, but when I went to view the art on the Second Floor I was made to leave, because they want to keep the Second Floor available for meetings. There was no one on the second floor besides a boy vacuuming (loudly). I hope he didn’t disturb the paintings I wasn’t allowed to view or the many people in the EMPTY Meeting Rooms. Pay 25 more dollars to stay at a Hotel that values your business and care about hospitality.

I loved this hotel. Great amenities, great service. The only complaint I have is about the hotel pool (which is shared with residents). Come after 2:30 and the hotel pool (on the 3rd floor) is completely in the shade. The pool they advertise is WaterProof, which isn’t associated with the hotel. WaterProof is open to the public and they charge a minimum ($50 or $75). Really disappointing to pay $180 per night and not have sun at the hotel pool, and not be able to get space at WaterProof.

HannahhS411RN, We're so happy that you had a great time with us. Yes, afternoon sun can be a bit challenging with the way the building and pool are laid out. As we get more into summer, the pool has much better sun coverage. For WaterProof, as a hotel guest, you do get priority, but we always tell hotel guests, the best way to ensure a space is by visiting resy.com for WaterProof's site and making a reservation thru them.

Our stay at the Statler was comfortable. It's right across from a little park where you can exercise or walk your dog if you're traveling with a pet. Valet was good. It began to rain and they made sure our luggage got inside okay. Our view was of several high-rises: not my cup-of-tea. Next time, I'll ask for a room on a higher floor with a better view. One observation: I get that many hotels have clubs and pool areas that are open to the public. Some might be more flexible right now to recoup lost revenue during Covid. I would caution The Statler to pay attention to its PAYING guests and when the bar/pool closes the crowd that's not paying to stay at the hotel politely hit the road instead of hanging around outside. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Front desk staff was rude when asking for wine glasses and a wine opener and treated us as if we were stupid. Valet took 30 minutes the next day after pricing it at $36 a night. We rented a deluxe room and thought we were getting robes with the room and they “ran out” so they didn’t have any for us after the room said it came with them.

You never know how the weather will be in Texas in December. I wouldn't plan to use the pool in December, especially if it isn't heated. I didn't know until I stayed at The Statler, their pool is an event bar. Evidently they often host events at the Pool/Bar which makes it very loud and crowded, difficult to enjoy the beautiful pool and view. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are luxurious but I wouldn't go just for the pool unless they do not have an event going on during your stay.

The rooftop bar opens at different hours but usually at 10am. It’s pretty casual up there as the pool is located there. Everyone was wearing nice shirts and shirt but some were in swimwear and coverups. Nothing fancy.
