PROS: Beautiful lobby area. Very quiet room. Comfortable bed. Check out the Dallas World Aquarium/Zoo! CONS: Found a little bag of drugs inside of the hotel book shortly after arriving to our room which we turned into the check-in desk. Set thermostat to lowest setting and still never got cool. Poor view from windows. Foul odor on the 21st floor....

Dear Guest, Thank you for your compliments. We apologize, though, that we disappointed you in other ways. Try as we might, we sometimes get it wrong and fail to impress. With 400 guest rooms, it is bound to happen. We do our best, make amends, and recover as quickly as humanly possible. Rest assured, your comments are used to make...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments. We appreciate your kind compliments and value your feedback (it is read by all of our staff and used for training purposes). One can stay in the original 1912 building; we have many guestrooms and suites in that section. The hotel additions were not built in the 1970s; they were added over time,...

I don't want this hotel to change a thing as long as the mattresses are new, rooms are clean... And they are! It's a grande piece of architecture built during the Titanic period. Walk off the streets of Downtown Dallas into Downton Abbey and a different era, where a pianist is playing Canon in D Major, ladies and gentlemen are...

Dear Guest, How very kind of you to take the time to give other travelers a virtual walk through The Adolphus. Many people do consider The Adolphus the Downton Abbey of Dallas, and we are delighted with the comparison. We are all avid fans of the series. Thank you for your kind words and high praise. It means the world...

From the large, gorgeously appointed rooms to the timelessly elegant lobby, this hotel is a step back in time in the very best sense of that phrase. The staff is delightful, helpful and accommodating. The room is beautiful and VERY clean. Our view out onto the street was glorious and it was so nice to be able to open the...

Upon arrival we were quite pleased with general appearance of the reception area. This sense of grandeur quickly left us as we passed broke glass on the pictures on the way up to the elevators. Once we got to our room, we opened to curtains only to find a dismal view of a roof top littered in air conditioning units....

I recently attended a convention in Dallas and had to find lodgings. I was fortunate to stay at the Adolphus. I stayed on the 9th floor in the older section of the hotel. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was fine though when I first saw it, I was surprised that the tub and toilet were dated– brown...

We spent a night here and wont be returning. The staff are nice and friendly but the decor is old frumpy and worn. I get its a grand dame from days of yor, but it doesnt have to look like it. When we booked, wifi was at least free in the common areas, but when we went down to use...

I came to Dallas for a conference and enjoyed staying in the Adolphus. While the Historic District may be aptly named, I felt that Dallas itself was not half as charming as the hotel, and if it weren't for the proximity of the Convention Center and the Dallas Art Museum, I may have been in any large impersonal city. The...

Parts of this hotel were really lovely - especially the foyer/lounge area which was very pretty in an Art Nouveau style but parts of it look very faded and past it's best.
