I only chose this hotel because i was stressed and I wanted to go one place have dinner and drink and go to bed. But once there looked for restaurant and then asked front desk, none. I asked if they had a map of nearby restaurants, he said no but named a few nearby. No list in room of delivery service? Exhausted, I had to drive in traffic to find a place. Went to breakfast next morning....had to pay. I got a bagel for $5 ! I could have gone to Dennys and had a full breakfast for that! Long wait to check in, short staffed. Otherwise, the stay was fine. I just think they need to change the advertising to advise of of closure.
Though missing a few amenities, this was a nice size, clean place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed 5 nights. This was the first hotel where they don't service your room unless you request it. We opted to pickup up towels, trash bags and coffee supplies at the front desk on our way up to our room. The staff always gave us what we needed. We just put our used towels and trash bags outside the door and they picked them up from there.
I had a reservation through American Airlines airmiles. The front desk said it had been canceled. QUITE rude. I called AA to straighten it out and the hotel couldn't show proof of cancelation (AA didn't either). Sonesta was rude to AA, too. LOL! While waiting on that conversation I wandered around. Place was filthy (should've made photos) and the guests arriving were loud and as obnoxious as the front desk - a suitable match it would appear. Wouldn't recommend this property at all. AA moved me to 4- star Renaissance hotel up the road. Dodged a bullet there. LOVE American Airlines Customer Service!
I was making reservations for a client of mine who was traveling through Dallas. This hotel was in the location he wanted to be and had some questions since he was traveling with hid dog. I called the hotel to enquire about the room and the pet policy. The associate I spoke to said there was a $150 nonrefundable pet fee. I checked the website and it showed $25 plus tax 1-3 night stay. I called back and the same associate answered and again stated the fee was $150. I asked why the website said something different and he wouldn't even offer an explanation. He came across like he really didn't give a f*** when I said the information was misleading. Unprofessional and misleading information on their website. Be aware before you confirm a room here, especially if it's non changeable.
I stayed for one night on May 11, the check-in was smooth and the staff was friendly. Manager Maurice recommended the Bangkok Dee Thai food behind the hotel. It was superb choice. I choose here because Hotwire program made it very affordable for 3 star hotel. The bed was very comfortable. Entire room was clean and spacious. No complain at all. The hotel near Museum of biblical art. I loved their collection.
Hotels always feel like a box of chocolates. Good reviews, not bad pictures, but sometimes the are still surprises. This was not that case. We had a pleasant stay, staff very helpful and fun to converse with, and the room was clean/stylish. I am a neat freak during our hotel stays and this one met all my expectations.
Picked this because of the close proximity to SMU and because i usually prefer Marriott. This one truly disappointed. They did not advertise when I reserved it that the restaurant and bar were closed. I get that there’s a pandemic going on - couldn’t they have mentioned everything is closed? We had to walk across a very busy intersection to Denny’s to eat because the parking lot exit would have put us going the wrong way. Parking is extremely tight - and they have the nerve to charge $7 per night when there literally is nowhere else to go. All entrances are locked. You can only go in and out the front even if you have to park at the furthest point and there’s a door right there- You cannot use your key to get in. I don’t understand how that protects anyone from germs. Elevators were so slow- we opted to walk up 4 flights. It was really disappointing. …
clean. No food due to COVID. Pool looked nice but by appointment only with his that didn't work out for us to use it. Nice staff but short staffed. You have to go get things, which isn't a big deal. ....
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, but now they make you pay $7 per night for the park yourself spot that used to be free. There are plenty of spaces so it's not like parking here is at a premium. The La Quinta next door does not charge a parking fee and the parking lots are next to each other. Check-in was ok, but no mention and nothing given for being a gold Bonvoy member. Didn't even get a welcome smile. Other Marriott brand hotels usually give free water and/or snacks or at least say thank you for being a loyal customer. Room was nice and big. Everything worked well. Nice towels. Check-out was fast, but didn't even get a thank you for staying here. No thank you for staying here and that $7 per day parking fee to park your own car in an open, unsecured lot means we will continue to be loyal Marriott customers, just not here again.…
At check in the desk lady was just professional and that is just acceptable. Just a smidge of cheer would have made us feel a bit more welcomed. There is a $7 parking fee that really isn’t a big deal. Just up your rates by $7 so it doesn’t seem like inconvenience charge. I’d rather pay more to have a valet service then $7 self park in an unsecured lot. Reward members don’t get anything, no water, popcorn or candy. Not really a big deal but when you don’t get a bottle of water you really miss it. Soaps are dispenser soaps in the shower. The shampoo is tea tree and I recommend not using it. I did at another property and it’s very tingly on the scalp and the fumes burn your eyes. The rooms are a bit smaller then other downtown properties of this chain. They are not so small that it’s an issue, still comfortable. The rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable and the heater/AC wasn’t loud. Highway sounds were not an issue and the lobby and outside areas were very tidy and clean.…
