Our cabin 6 was very dirty. You could take a wet paper towel to the tile floor and pick up black dirt everywhere. I didn’t want to go barefoot. The shower had old hair in the corners and the water smelled like poop when we first turned it on. Blinds are mostly all broken. Mostly run down inside. The tiny TV was like a 12” screen. Internet was very weak and mostly non existent. The restaurant is advertised as open for dinner but when we got here they were closing at 2 pm every day. Nearest restaurants are 20+ miles away. Our friends stayed in another cabin and had an inch of backed of water in their shower. This place is not cheap and is not worth a penny. Don’t waste your time.

We stayed a week at Saddle Oak and let me say it was not the cleanest. The counter tops and dishes had food stuck, toilet seats falling off, dried poop on the side of one of the toilets, holes in the upstairs door, All blinds broken, a few roaches, spiders in the beds, the pool had a leak, so water was always low, and we had to keep filling it up. for what we paid, this place should have been cleaned. we found a wallet in the couch called the guy he said he lost it years ago. So that just goes to show... cleaning services and bug services not at its finest!!

Stayed there once out of many trips to the Frio and Gardner State Park. Neal's Restaurant is the best place to eat and the lodging right there. As I recall it was a bit expensive but conveniently located. Over all I would recommend. The Frio River is one of our Family Favorite places with a lot of good memories there.

Your kids won’t be sleeping at all!! There night club and bands playing extremely loud beyond midnight . The slide is not even open . Thus , You can stay somewhere else much nicer and cheaper and just get the day access on the other side of the river, to the same swimming hole ( minus using the slide but the slide doesn’t even work !) The place is dirty and not well cleaned . There is trash all in the water. I wasted a lot or money staying here!

The worst customer service ever. We bought 6 shuttle tickets to float, they went unused because river closed due to flooding and we are checking out tomorrow. They would not give us a refund for the shuttle tickets. It's all about the principle, not the money. We spent a ton of money on a mediocre cabin with dirty bathrooms and they refused to refund a whopping $90. We will never be back to this dump.

We rented a cabin from Neal’s Lodges from April 27, 2021 for 3 nights. We enjoyed exploring Lost Maples State Natural Area and Garner State Park. We left very early on the the 30th to drive all the way to Big Bend. The office was not open that early so we left our room key and vehicle placard (a flimsy laminated piece of paper that you hung from your mirror) on the table inside the cabin. Unfortunately what seemed like a wonderful stay has been marred by the additional charges to my credit card of $64.36 for a “lost key” and “vehicle placard” . Calls to Neal’s are answered at the front desk yet the manager is never available. One employee when told I would write an unfavorable review said she didn’t care as “they get a lot of unfavorable reviews”! I understand Neal’s once was a respectable place but the new management will drag this place into the gutter. Ok Neal’s Lodges, if this is how you squeeze extra dollars from out-of-state visitors, then this senior citizen strongly urges anyone visiting Concan, TX to seek lodging elsewhere as there are plenty of options available. Ignore my advice and you will regret it! I wish I had read the reviews before booking this place.

our group had rooms at the back in a secluded area at the back (cabins 67 - 73). My cabin had a large living room and kitchen and two bedrooms and two bathrooms. . I was just one and they had forgotten to bring towels and sheets which they brought round. By then I had figured out that one toilet had no water so I used the other bedroom/bathroom and made up that bed. The kitchen areas was quite well equiped except I could not find a dish cloth. overall, simple, a little dilapidated but fine.

Neals cabins seems to be the iconic place to stay, we beg to differ. First impression from the outside is ok until you open the door which has a thin plexiglass for the window on the door , which takes up half of the door. The glue that was supporting the plexiglass was failing which gave us arms length to open the door from the outside and unlock the door on the inside, no need for a key. Security ? NO. The mini blinds for privacy offered very little because most were permanently bent. Old and Rustic is one thing , dirty and unsafe is another. Hot water ? No need to add cold water faucet to shower, the hot water faucet alone gave you warm water. The drain in the shower was a hazard, as only one screw was holding the metal drain cover down with the other side bent up . Had to be careful not to cut your foot. Shower and sink did not drain properly. While showering you would be standing in an inch of water . The fix it man came out to assess, he unclogged the sink;tried to fix the problem in the shower with a toilet plunger. Still clogged. Floors were dirty (filthy), bed frames ,walls dirty and dusty. It was a first having to bring our own sheets, if it was about Covid then why were pillows, pillow cases and a cotton spread provided but not sheets🤔To sum it up very disappointing , if so iconic ,we would think you as owners would take better care. 👎 we paid for the off season price thinking it would be safe and secure

We stayed for three nights and four days, with an awful rodent smell from day one. They came and replaced an air freshener in the window a/c unit. Big whoop! The mice droppings were found in our clothes, our cooking utinsels, and our bedding. They did not offer to move us to another cabin, or any type of refund. The manager's response was to hang up on us when we called expressing our concern. Do not book with Neal's Cabins, they don't care about you, your kids, or your pets.

We went with another couple this weekend to Neal’s and had a fantastic time. We stayed in cabin 38 very nice and clean. River was beautiful!! Only down side was you have to bring ur own sheets and bath towels or rent them but not a big deal. We will for sure come back!
