WONDERFUL VERY CLEAN cabins & park, fabulous proprietors, quiet, scenic, affordable. Only about 3/4 miles to Garner State Park, (we took a day trip there). Highly recommend the Resort & RV park!!!! We’re planning a yearly late fall trip for our family!!!!
Stayed in the Kara cabin. Clean and well maintained. The area was beautiful. A short walk down the river. It was peaceful and quiet. Just a few minutes drive to Garner State Park. I would recommend this place. My family stayed in The Bill. It was spacious and clean. The patio area was amazing with a nice view and a stones throw from the river. You could actually hear the river from the patio. Had a nice fire pit and table outside. Only downside was no couch or seating inside except for the kitchen chairs. Two separate bedrooms with private access to the bathrooms.
We stayed here for the first time this past summer for our annual family trip out there. With all the people there we stayed in 3 different cabins and one rv spot. This property is kept in wonderful condition, it almost appears the mow multiple times a week. The cabins are kept in great condition, sometimes when you rent in a little older cabin sometimes there will be dirty showers etc. Well not here, some of the cabins have been updated, they aren't over the top but nice enough for me. All of the cabins have DirecTv, but we never turned on the tv since we are there to be outside. Every night we used the grills and by the morning management had cleaned out our grills of the ashes. That was great of them to do, I understand their liability part of not that one person who always seems to put ashes in a dumpster. All of the cabins come with their own grill, however if you have a huge group they have a small povillion in the center with a smoker. There is also a huge fire pit so you can roast s'mores etc. Also the other people staying there are also very respectful of staying quiet when it got later into the night, I am sure there are some who have a problem doing that. However, while we were there all of the other customers were respectful. There are two things that are the only negatives about the place. The first are the cabins with porches that overlook the river, they need fans to help push some air, it got really warm in the evenings as the sun hit there in the late afternoon. The breeze really didn't help out until late into the night. The other part is the river access, it was alright, not very many shaded spots are there without have to go up or down river. Then if you have someone who has issues going down stairs then you will need to access the river somewhere else. However we will consider 4J in the future as a place to stay, their prices are extremely competitive.…
Spent 3 days in July 2017 --- wonderfully quiet, calm and relaxing. We stayed in Koby cabin. 2bdrm / 2 bath. Excellent set up - large outside area with BBQ pit and fire pit. Easy stair / ramp access to river. This part of the river is shallow, just sit in a chair and get your feet wet. This is just across the street from the entrance to Garner State Park which had great river access for tubing. If going into Garner - be sure and go early because park limits # of people into park daily. I will for sure return to 4J. The cleanliness of the entire facility is tip notch and the people are very nice.
We had a blast! Kids stayed busy with football, volleyball and riding bikes. We were just a few feet from the crystal clear water to tube, snorkel and soak up the sun. The cabins were clean and equipped with kitchen utensils, pots, pans, coffee pot, toaster etc. The owners were great! We will be back next year for sure! Thanks 4J.
Great Christian family operation. Super family oriented. Modern and well-kept facilities. Close to many camping/vacationing amenities. Try it, and you will love it. At the doorstep of one of Texas' most popular State Parks, Garner State Park; and, right on the banks of the Frio River. My family's third time visiting and we loved every visit.
We came with my parent last month and we really enjoyed our short stay. Everyone that worked there were so friendly and helpful. It was within walking distance to the water to go tubing and it was a few short miles from Garner State Park. The scenery around there was also nice.
Cabins are clean and the layout of the camp allows for several families in the same group to be housed within steps of each other! The central firepit & volleyball net was perfect for our large group to meet up and eat dinner. The best part is that these cabins are literally just steps away from the entrance to the Frio and only one block away from Garner State Park! We'll continue to return each year!
We enjoyed the stay at 4J, the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The staff was very nice and helpful. We personally preferred Neals Lodges due to more privacy on front porch and didnt care for cabin by a main, busy road. We also felt mattresses weren't very comfortable. I think it really depends on what you prefer, we liked Neals lodges due to a more private feeling and liked having the ammenities and being closer to river for our kids
We really enjoyed out stay at 4J. The staff were very friendly and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We stayed in the Lonestar Cabin which is open concept and it was very roomy for a 3 day stay with two people. We used the nice grill and enjoyed sitting on the front porch too. It was VERY close to Garner and easy to go back and forth throughout the day. These people are very family friendly and just all around pleasant. If you are looking for a nice, clean, family friendly place to stay very close to Garner this is your best bet!
