We LOVED Camp Riverview! They offer everything from tent sites, cabins, RVs and everything in between. It was a beautiful campground with an amazing staff. Very clean and well-kept. The office staff did a great job at keeping the guests quiet after 10:30pm, as well as ensuring no one was on the grounds that did not need to be there. We felt extremely safe and enjoyed every second of our holiday weekend. I wish I had more hands to give this campground more thumbs up!! I could talk all day about how wonderful the experience was. You will not regret staying here!!
Our family of 17 had another GREAT vacation at Camp Riverview!! We all enjoyed the beautiful Frio river, the kids had a blast playing laser tag and the little ones loved watching the movie Toy Story at the barn!!! We love that we can go play putt-putt golf and dance under the stars just a few miles down the road at Garner State Park!!! We also loved all the improvements at the park, the 2 bedroom cabins have been remodeled, they're beautiful and very comfortable!! We're already planning our trip for next year and we plan on bringing more family with us!!!
We spent the week there during the drought with our teens. Swimming holes on site were still full and we had a blast. Property is very well maintained and staff was friendly. Definitely a family atmosphere which I love. Short drive to Garner for hiking and exploring. Concan shops and nightlife is just a short drive up the road. Kids had fun playing volleyball with other kids there and the yard games available at the office were a nice option for the evenings.
We love Camp Riverview. It is the perfect place for a family atmosphere. The campsites and cabins are super clean. The staff is phenomenal and so helpful. There are activities for the kids in the evening. This is our family vacation destination from now on.
This was our second year out to Camp Riverview with family and friends. Upgrades throughout. Evening Laser Tag is a must!! The kids (and adults) had a blast! The Gaga Ball pit and playground were a hit! Evening activities like rock painting, sand art and tie dying T-shirts were fun. The new pizza food truck is a great addition. Bluebell Milkshakes were so good! Our favorite perf about CR is that you could get in on one side of the park and float to the other side, about 15-30 minutes, all while staying on property! The Frio’s water was too low this summer to float down, but that didn’t stop the kids from playing! Some spots were perfect for parents to enjoy a shady beach chair while the kids wore snorkeling gear and explored many pretty fish. The waterfall at the end was a little too crowded for our liking. About four spots in the rover were over an adult’s waist deep. Hidden gem: Two rope swings just off property, up river! Tina was kind and accommodating via email! And Sherry was great at hosting the kids activities! We are already looking into our next trip out to CR!…
Unfortunately, my family is not able to make this trip that was scheduled in April 2022 for August of2022. I cancelled in writing 30 days in advance and still had to pay for the first night for each rv site. This total was more than $225. I understand that this was a provision of the reservation, however, 30 days should be sufficient to get a full refund. We travel frequently in our RVs and have not experienced this before. Because of this, we will find somewhere else to go and will never attempt to go to Camp Riverview again. I am just giving potential travelers a heads up.
Very clean river, restrooms and campgrounds, they strive for a safe environment, plenty of kids activities, rv and cabin spots very spacious so you don't feel cramped in and even though we could not float we had a great time.
Our campsite was clean, and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed our time on the river, played volleyball with friends and visited the store and pizza truck as well. We appreciated the staff that we saw constantly monitoring. We, ourselves, received reminders of quiet time (guitars were playing beforehand) but it was done respectfully. I’ve seen some complaints about the monitoring, but we were glad that there is an order to things. It made us feel like it was a safe place for our family (especially our kids.) We loved our first stay at Camp Riverview and look forward to making it an annual thing!
My Family and I do a lot of traveling along with our friends with our RV's. I would have to say this is by far the worst experience we have ever had. To wait all year to spend eight days at a location where this Camp Manager and his employees police you 24 hours a day. From coming into your camp after their "Curfew Time" , Quiet Time or whatever you may call it. For this incedent we had a radio on, that a patrolling employee said he couldn't even here but another employee had to tell him because he strolled through our camp after 10:30. They then turned our radio off when we had young children still in and ou t of our RV's playing different games as well as going to each others RV's. On top of that we didn't know for sure what had happened to our radio until they then decided to come tell us it was "QUIET TIME", not once did they do this, but three times. The next day 2 of our girls were playing at the play ground and came back crying and said that some man on a golfcart that worked there told them they needed to go back to their camp because he said they were fighting when in fact they had said they were playing with each other. First off we're the parents and the Adults. If you have a problem with children, don't you think you should come to the parents first and let them do the parenting? Then every where we went some one was always stopping us in our vehicles ,golfcart or buggies telling us we were speeding while ALWAYS holding up five fingers for 5 mph every where you went. Then this is Memorial Day weekend we wanted to cook hot daogs and hamburgers for the kids by the river. we were told No to charcoal pits by the river, That was the rule if we didn't like it. We could leave. All the while there are firepits at camp sites 50 yards away. We did proceed to finish our hotdogs until they were finished while the Property manager sat there and continually ran his mouth about his rules and laws, He was wrong about his laws along the river after investigating it further. While we sat in the river the Property Manager and his employees constantly were down at the water telling us what we could do and not do. Well sir what we do in the water while we are having a good time. You have NO authority in a navigable stream/river in the state of Texas, maybe in California it may be different or whevere your from. If we place a conopy in a river, you have no authority to remove that canopy from that river. if we cook with charcoal along that river bank , you have no authority to remove us from doing so. We abided by your rules after you kept making our experience at Camp Riverview a TOTAL miserable experience. As well as the Little Old lady that yelled out BINGO at 11:00pm that was told to please quiet it down a little when you shout out BINGO again. So to whom that might want to go to Camp Rieverview to spend your vacation, DON'T! Whether it 2 days or 10 days. These folks will make your life a unpleasant experience. No matter their reponse to my message. No ONE and I mean No One should spend there hard earned money and free time at this place. I visited many other camp sites while there. There are rules at all campsites. But I believe that they will be handled differently by other property managers. Please Please investigate this property before spending your time and money here.…
We read all the reviews and were a little worried before we arrived. So glad we decided to come to Camp Riverview. We had a fantastic experience. The staff was super friendly and playful. We had ZERO issues. Yes they have rules...quiet time at 1030 pm, no glass on the river, wear your wrist band. Follow those and you will be just fine. Now the park itself. AMAZING. Right on the Frio. They were finishing new patios for several sites. Full hook ups, level sites. We will be back for many years to come!
