We spent several nights in a riverfront site. Staff is very helpful, the park is clean and well maintained site on the riverfront are on a bluff overlooking the Frio River and across from Garner State Park. There is river access for swimming and kayaks. The camp store is well stocked which is nice as the nearest grocery store is some distance away.
This place is on the Frio river on a bluff directly across from Garner State Park. You could cross the river to the park if you chose but it’s only a 5 minute ride over. There are two river access points to take you down to the river. Lots of rope swings to swing out and drop into the very cold water. There are about a 100 spots in all with spots 1-20 having a river view but spots 20-40 are just across the road in front of the river spots. Lots of trees throughout the park and all spots were level. Even the spots in the back aren’t far from the river. Each spot had electric and cable hookups along with direct sewer hookup too. The welcome center has EVERYTHING you need. In addition to supplies for enjoying the water they also have food, charcoal and BEER! If you’re in need of a part for your RV they have gave that too. Very friendly and helpful staff too. …
This was such a refeshing change from most campgrounds! Ths staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We had a site overlooking the beautiful Frio River. They have a store and WiFi. I didn't have any phone reception, but the girl working there showed me how to call using WiFi. We also had cable. We wish we had discovered it earlier in our trip. We only got to stay one night. We had been staying at Garner State Park. The bathrooms at Riverview were large and immaculate. Not many snowbirds yet, but it is probably full when it's cold up North!
This park is everything an RV camper would want, as long as you you want to be far away from any cities. We had a great time. The speedy Wi-Fi is great for the days that are too cool or you are just tired of swimming. Streaming a TV worked well and e-mails always got through. Hook your phone to the wi-fi and you can make and text any calls. (there is also a payphone at the laundry) Laundry with washers and dryers (clean and works well). Well staffed and maintained office. Food and souvenirs in the office. Restrooms were very clean with large showers. Office personnel is very helpful. This park allows you entrance to the Frio River. You are exactly across the river from Garner State park. You can swim; walk, bring water equipment to paddle the river. Garner State Park rents water equipment. Many sites have shade which helps your unit stay cool. You pay for your own electric use. We found a Walmart for grocers in Uvalde about 30 min. away. We stayed here for several months.…
Clean, spacious. Well stocked store including gear needed for the River such as water shoes, rafts, even swimsuits. Access to the Frio River. Bathrooms very clean. Showers spacious with hot water! Firewood available for purchase. We plan to return!
The owner was incredibly accommodating to our family during this trip. This is an RV park that puts people first, no doubt! We would absolutely recommend Parkview over any RV park in the area. The way they treated us and the care they showed us is why this is the only park we will ever come back to on the Frio.
We have been here three times now and will be coming back! There is so much to do here and the scenery is amazing. Spots are mostly level and pretty well spaced out. the store/reception desk has anything and everything to include fire wood and ice. The customer service here is top notch and extremely welcoming. They go out of their way to make you feel like family. Even when we wanted to change dates for our stay, they were accommodating. They keep watch on every item within the park to include loud and out of hand guests. Very clean park and reasonable prices! Well done Parkview Riverside RV Park, this is an example of how parks should be maintained.
We have been going twice a year to Parkview Riverside since 2010 and wouldn't go anywhere else! The laundry room and bathrooms/showers are spotless and convenient. We've gotten to know the workers and they are sweet and available. If you're lucky enough, get a spot right on the river for a gorgeous view from your RV!
The park is located across the Frio River from Garner State Park, up on a bit of a shaded bluff. There are a few river access paths and some ropes for swinging out into the water. The park store is well-stocked with groceries and camping necessities -- even cables and whatnot for your RV. The bath house is the nicest I've encountered: super clean, tiled, air conditioned, plenty of hot water, and individual changing rooms with each shower stall. It's very clean, private and, best of all, bug-free. We have a Texas State Park pass, so each day we drove into Garner and hiked. We love Garner and Parkview allowed us to enjoy it in a much better overnight environment. The Parkview owners have put a great deal of thought into their offering and it shows. We can't wait to go back!
We love this place and stay there each Memorial Day weekend. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. They do not allow tents, so that can be viewed as a positive or negative. I find it a positive. The restrooms are clean and you have to have a security code to get in. The river front sites are very close together, but we are seldom at the trailers anyway. This is the only place we will stay on the river.
