I got engaged here in May. I was looking for something rustic, out of the way, and relaxed. This turned out to be a perfect fit. My fiance and I really needed to get outdoors after over a year of being cooped up in metropolitan Houston. The fresh air, the running water, the quiet cabin was a great release. We... More

Once again, Hill Country Equestrian Lodge was the perfect destination for a few days of beautiful horseback riding and visits to the "Cowboy Capital of the World", Bandera, Texas. As always we were welcomed with a beautiful cabin, clean stalls for our horses, and many smiling faces. While the cabins are always perfect I did notice this year that some... More

This is a great place for couples, friends, or family. We rode through the park one day, shopped historic Bandera, hiked the State Natural Park the next day. Beds were comfortable and we loved the cabin. We will be back with the family.

Our family of five (kids age 10,8, and 5) visited Hill Country Equestrian Lodge for two nights in early November 2016. We were travelling to Austin from Ontario for a combined business and family holiday. We are so glad we chose this beautiful spot for part of our week in Texas. During our stay we were able to have two... More

We were looking for a romantic weekend that we could bring our own horses. HCEL was amazing. We could have stayed 2 weeks and not been able to ride all the trails in the adjacent park. Barn was great and well maintained BY THE STAFF! The cottage was perfect. We enjoyed the fire pit every night.

I have just returned from a three day stay at the Hill Country Equestrian Lodge. This is my second trip to Diane and Peter's ranch. The cabins are rustic and beautiful and well-maintained. Very comfortable and well stocked. They take pride in having everything prepared for their visitors and anticipating what may be needed for snacks and breakfast. Extraordinary scenery... More

We had a fabulous weekend at Hill Country Equestrian Lodge. We had a group of 9 ladies, brought our own horses and stayed the weekend. The trails were fantastic as we had access to the meadow on the ranch and the trail in the State Natural area. Beautiful scenic rides through the hill country. Dianne and Peter work very hard... We stayed at the Hill Country Equestrian Lodge 2 nights in September. We really loved the peaceful environment, the vicinity to the State Park, the well-equipped cottages and Diane and Peter's warm hospitality. Each morning, we went horse-riding, then spent the afternoon near the pool or exploring Bandera. The horses are all very well taken care. They stroll freely around... More

Just back from the ladies weekend retreat and it was fabulous. The setting is breath taking...the cabins are regionally authentic, well designed, well stocked with food and drink, spacious for a group and comfortable...the riding and activities were wonderful. Bandera is a charming town with good restaurants and live music offerings. The trip from the airport is a little over... More
