first I must say that the staff were top notch and the food superb. The outdoor pavilion and swimming pool were very inviting. While the stables held many beautiful horses, the actual trail rides were pretty much devoid of scenery and monotonous. The cabins and general condition of the roads and the lodge were in much need of updating &...

Thank you for posting your review for your recent stay at the ranch. We appreciate your compliments about our staff and food, and we apologize for the parts of your stay that you found disappointing. During the time of your stay, we experienced a period of heavy rainfall that affected the terrain of the ranch, making some of the trails...

I have visited the Mayan Ranch on business trips many times over the past ten years. I have always had a fantastic time. The Hicks family has been running this ranch for close to 60 years now. Don and Judy Hicks raised 12 kids on this ranch and now the kids, and grandkids, are running the ranch. They are an...

this was a great few days and exactly what we were expecting. The cabins in the woods are great and the cowboy delivering coffee in the morning whilst sitting on the porch watching deer grazing a few feet away was super good. Breakfast at the river was also a good thing to do at least once. The trail rides twice...

We stayed here one night. We had live Texas country n western music. The smoked turkey they served here is about the best I have ever had. It was very moist and had a unique flavor profile that was delicious. The cabins are rustic but comfortable. We saw numerous deer running around. The Hicks family and staff were "down home"...
