We stayed one night. Got into Selmer at 10:30. The lobby was locked up but the employee inside opened up for us and checked us in. Thank you for that! The room was clean, bed nice, sheets clean and had good water pressure (my husband liked the water massage by the hard water pressure after a long day of driving).... More

Hate giving bad reviews, but this little place w potential has obviously suffered from apathetic management. For the price, we don't expect 5-star luxury, and weren't completely surprised by the extra firmness of the beds - but we DO expect clean when paying to spend the night anywhere. Shower curtain was visibly moldy. There was trash under one bed, and... More

Want, a clean place to sleep, watch TV, get on the Internet, take a warm shower and just relax; then wake up early to a hot breakfast with coffee and juices? This place is for you. Have stayed here many times in the past, as I have family living in Selmer that I often visit, and have never been unhappy... More

Perfect for a small town I have stayed here twice, and it has been a pleasure both times. I have also stayed in the other motel in town almost across the street and did not like it at all. There is a B&B 15 miles south with a much higher rate but it is better for a long stay!

My wife and I were put up in the Southwood Inn during a business trip to Selmer, Tennessee. My first impression from the outside was a cheap and outdated single level motor inn that would be popular with transients. I was glad to be wrong. Our room, while not elegant, was spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and the bed... More

When I arrived the man was nice and gave me a room quick the check in took me all of 60secs. The man at the front desk also told me what time they start serving breakfast and that it was the best in town. When I got to the room it was nice & clean, they even had a little... More

Staying in a small town with no large hotels we relied on a recommendation of a friend. The motel was old school with outside entrances. Prices were very reasonable and to our surprise there was a breakfast served between 6-8 a.m. They also allow pets for an additional fee.

We stayed at the Southwood Inn for a week while visiting our daughter and her family. The room was large and clean but furnishings dated and worn. Housekeeping was very good. Internet did not have a good firewall. Consequently, there were a lot of pop-ups and viruses that we had to keep deleting. It was very disappointing to find the... More

After reading rave reviews about Southwoods breakfast, we decided to stop there last night. It is a nice property with pull up rooms, an old "Mom and Pop" redone. When we checked in we asked about the breakfast. We were told that we picked a bad time to stop - that there would be no breakfast, maybe some rolls and... More

Great place for Teams! Stayed on return trip to Iowa from Daytona College Nationals! Great price, service and comfort. Easy Access for Charter Bus! Beds and linens smelled like Downy and the Customer Service was excellent! Home cooked breakfast in the morning was great! Kuddos this is a winner!
