This quaint Bed and Breakfast in the mountains is much more than a homey stop and hostel for hikers since it is so close to the Appalachian Trail, but this hidden gem is a mountainous, scenic, comfortable getaway for anyone who enjoys the outdoors and a breakfast that is, dare I say, better than Mama's cookin'! I stayed at the...

GREAT Breakfast. Friendly Staff If your hiking the AT you differently want to stop here for the hiker resupply, showers, and breakfast. If you are just doing day hikes like we where April is a great month to visit since there is a constant stream of AT thur hikers so a lot of interesting people.

This B&B is well known for its hiker's hostel and sumptuous home cooked, country breakfasts. We joined a through hiker friend for a 23 mile leg of the AT. Although the hostel, a converted barn, has everything a weary hiker could want (comfortable beds, wood stove, showers, a cozy sitting area stocked with books and movies), we chose to stay...

My husband and I simply adore Mountain Harbour Bed and Breakfast and their wonderfully hospitable staff and accommodations. We love it for a special occasion destination (holidays, our anniversary) as well as a pre- or post-hike stayover. Mary's breakfasts are beyond anything I have ever seen! Beautifully presented and varied enough for every taste as consideration- gluten-free, vegetarian, or no-holds-barred-bring...

The staff was very accommodating and helpful! We used their shuttle service and when we had car trouble and had to rearrange our scheduled time, spur of the moment, they were more than willing to work with us. I would definitely use them again and would recommend their shuttle service to any hiker.

We stayed in the Jefferson Room for two nights in December. The room was nice, the breakfast was delicious, and the innkeeper, Marry, was great. The place strikes the hard to reach balance between being warm/friendly/welcoming, but also allowing for the right amount of privacy for vacationing couples. Other posts seem to emphasize the quality of the hosts, and that...

I didn't stay here as I was staying in Roan Mountain with a friend who lives there. But she took me to the Mountain Harbour B & B for breakfast. It was FANTASTIC. Not only was the food delicious, it was a great chance to meet some amazing people. Firstly the warm, hardworking Mary. She allowed me to have a...

My teenage son and I stayed here a couple of nights while section-hiking the AT from Nolichucky to Carvers Gap. Mary was friendly and very helpful, having us driven to and from dinner both nights. We seemed to have the one room with its own bathroom, so that is a question you may want to ask when booking. The breakfast...

My husband & I stayed with Mary & Terry the past two August's while we were in the area for the NASCAR race in Bristol. We love everything about this lovely B&B...the location, our room, the dogs (& goats), the other guests, the fabulous breakfasts, and of course the perfect hosts! While in the area enjoy a pizza at the...

Stopped here and stayed in the hiker hostel on day 7 of an 11 day section hike on the A.T.. Met the owner quickly and she was very welcoming and let us know where to put our stuff and how everything worked. Had an incredible time staying here, getting shuttled to good BBQ, and hanging out with some great people....
