Detailed Reviews
The picture of the swimming pool is pretty accurate. That could be important for families with children. We didn't swim but it looked and smelled clean and lots of people were using it during our stay. I think the picture makes it look a bit bigger than it is, but it's definitely a nice indoor area.
We had a 3 night stay in a room with 2 beds. Almost all of the rooms are outside facing, outside doors, so your only window also looks onto the walk way that people are using to get to their rooms. I thought the layout made it a bit hard to find a bell cart and find your room walking exposed to the weather, but it's a minor issue. On the opposite choice, the indoor rooms all seemed to face the pool so that could be very noisy.
Our room seemed very clean, the furniture seems new, the mattresses were firm and the sheets looked and felt clean and white and the room smelled like new paint. The only drawback is the room with 2 beds is a little bit small on space. There's really very little space between beds, between the bed and wall, and between the bed and the table with 2 chairs they put in there. On the wall by our hair dryer are two holes they haven't yet repaired.
The free breakfast has several hot items with eggs, breakfast meat, biscuits and gravy. There are premade waffles with a toaster in addition to several other cold choices of yogurts and cereals. It's a pretty good breakfast included in the price. I saw someone review that the dining room was small, I think it's maybe not small but instead it seemed like quite a crowd on our mornings with people lingering after they finished their meal. It seemed to me the breakfast time lasted until after 9 so you don't have to get up early.
My take away is the room was very nicely priced and provided a clean room and comfortable bed. All the staff were very friendly. We would stay there again.

I don't usually stay with EconoLodge but this location seemed different. They have a great Riverwalk area with picnic tables and benches. I just love this fun little amenity. The daily breakfast was ok. It wasn't spectacular but it served it's purpose. I've had better free breakfast buffets at other Choice properties but it's free and they had decent food. It would definitely help defray the cost of an expensive meal in the area. The room was basic. It wasn't very large but it had a decent sink area for getting ready or making a coffee/tea. The cost is a bit high during peak season for what you get, but stay during less than peak and the cost is more reasonable. For the area, this is a clean, decent place to stay. I think if you're taking kids, it's really great due to the indoor pool and game room. Those are fun and great for a rainy day!

I've stayed in this hotel several times over the years, but this will most likely be my last time. It's really gone down hill since my last stay. It's not a terrible place to stay, just disappointed this time. Best to give my pros and cons and let you decide for yourself:
PROS:
1) Central location
2) Lots of storage space (two closets, lots of lower cabinets under vanity, refrigerator, cabinet above microwave, dresser, etc. There were three of us in the room for 5 days, so this came in very handy
3) Breakfast included and it was quite good. They serve a variety of items so there's something for everyone and it's not all pastry and cereal. We had eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, yogurt, etc to choose from every morning.
4)Price is reasonable
5) Love the river and the ducks/geese. Quite relaxing.
6) Bed was fairly comfortable. Not too firm and not too soft.
7) Great water pressure in shower.
CONS:
1) We were in room 125. It faces the road. Lots of road noise all night long.
2) Our air conditioner rattled constantly through the night. It definitely needs some maintenance.
3) Room is quite shabby upon closer inspection. Cabinets and furniture peeling.
4) No exhaust fan in the bathroom, so got very steamy.
5) Appears to be mold growing on ceiling in bathroom. This is due to poor ventilation. Paint peeling off in places also.
6) Housekeeping was a joke. They would replace our towels/wash cloths each day, but did absolutely no cleaning whatsoever. I mean nothing. We've been here 5 days and not clean sheets, not cleaning of the floor, nothing. We left an extra large tip thinking it might help, but it actually got worse. We've now run out of toilet paper, no clean bath mat, did not replace Kleenex, did not replace plastic cups, etc.
I'm glad we're checking out tomorrow.

Stayed here a few nights in between trips while waiting on friends to come into town for a long weekend girl's trip. The hotel is in the middle of the main Pigeon Forge strip, about a mile from The Island, so many things were within a reasonable walking distance. My room was on the ground floor, right on the courtyard area outside and was spacious, clean, and well situated near the indoor pool area, breakfast area, and arcade/laundry. Not too much noise from neighboring rooms, and because the pool is indoor and the room was outside, there was no loud noises from kids playing in the pool later at night. Due to covid precautions, there were not many hot breakfast options (scrambled eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy were the only hot items available while I was there), but there was a decent amount of easy grab and go cereals, milk, yogurt, oatmeal packets, coffee, tea, hot water, prepackaged muffins and donuts, bananas, granola bars, and condiments available, as well as juice from the juice machine. They offered paper bags and styrofoam containers so you could take the food back to your room to eat as all the indoor seating was unavailable. The staff was friendly, all the common areas were also clean and well kept. You could tell it was an older hotel that has been renovated, but it was comfortable and reasonably priced. I would stay here again.

This is one go to hotel that my mom and I stay in when we are in the Pigeon Forge area. Its pretty quiet and the guests are pretty respectful of each other in the evenings since most are out sight seeing. I definitely wouldn't want to book a room located around their indoor pool, the smell of chlorine is a tad strong. The last time we stayed here they had grab and go breakfast when we stayed last year, and now they have breakfast open that you can take back to your room and eat since they still didn't have their tables out in the eating area. If you want clean towels you sill had to go to the front desk to get and if you wanted them to pick up your soiled towels and trash pick up, we sat them outside our doors and they came by to pick them up. If you wanted your sheets changed you'd still have to let them know at the desk ahead of time. The ladies at the front desk at the time of check in and check out were very pleasant.

This is a large place. the Indoor Pool area was awesome. Loved the outside along the river. The property owners and staff do a wonderful job of keeping this area clean from the Geese, duck and pigeon droppings so that the visitors have a wonderful experience of enjoying the river and the animals. GREAT Job ECONO LODGE

The staff is very courteous. The room is very spacious, the bed was very comfortable, free HBO, air conditioner was nice and cold, we didn't hear anyone making any noises at night (arguments, partying, loud talking, excessive parking lot antics). The river is amazing at the back of the parking lot. You can feed the Geese and hang out by the water or in the water. The other people that we spoke to that were staying in the hotel were very friendly. This hotel is right in the middle of fun !! This hotel gave me a discount for being a Veteran as well !!! We will return here in the next few months and go to some different shows !!!

We booked this room based off the convenience of the location, the pool, and the affordable rate. Immediate regret. Upon arrival, staff was very kind and accommodating. The property lacked cleanliness in all areas, including our room. Our room smelled so bad, like mold/mildew/smoke. The hotel is non smoking with designated smoking areas but every day when we went out of our room the neighbor was standing outside their door smoking. It was tidy, but not clean. The beds were clean, sheets were good, bed check passed inspection fine. The counter area/bathroom/sink looked like it had been wiped down, but with a dirty rag. After a run to Publix, it was nothing Clorox wipes, Lysol, and air freshener couldn’t fix. The only other issue we encountered was no one cleaned our room for our entire stay, even when mentioning when getting new towels and trash bags, it was noted they were short staffed. We ended up leaving early. Definitely would not recommend as it has been our worst experience with a Choice hotel.

Me and my husband decided to stay here on a quick one day getaway. We booked through Priceline for $62 which was cheaper than the rate the actual hotel was offering at $79. The hotel was very busy with quite a few travelers but it was still peaceful. The room was very clean and well stocked. For breakfast they had sausage, biscuits, eggs and gravy plus the usual cereals, fruits and muffins. We would definitely stay here again.

Third stay at Econo Lodge Riverside. Visited a few days after New Years. We had a lovely time.
Check in was fast and friendly. I enjoyed the lobby. They had great free coffee to help warm me up after a wet, but really fun day at Dollywood. The parrot to greet guests was a nice touch.
I like the layout of the property, it is nice and unique. They give you a map so you can easily find your room and park in the best location. We had a room facing the river, which was nice so it was quieter than a parkway facing room.
The overall vibe of the property is very family friendly. All of the guests were in a happy mood. While I didn't get a chance to swim, the pool area looked to be full of guests having a good time relaxing.
I found the room to be comfortable. I got some quality sleep for sure. The heat kept the room nice and toasty. Decor was basic, but nice. Love the real wood furnishings and a picture of the US with license plates for each state. The shower was nice and hot, but as the other reviewers have stated, it is a bit higher off the floor than normal, so watch your step. (But it is my understanding they are planning to address with a remodel.)
Location is good, right on the parkway. Always have enjoyed visiting the ducks hanging by the river.
Breakfast was really good. Great coffee and juice. Enjoyed the eggs and sausage gravy. Tasty muffins too! They kept everything well stocked. Had a tv so you can catch up on the news.
Overall, it is a good value property when you just want a comfy place to stay. Definitely would recommend for a family trip to Pigeon Forge.

We booked a room that had a view of back and creek. Wonderful, we felt city and view of pool would be too noisy!
I apologize for the delay in my answer. Yes, you may bring a grill, however we do have charcoal grills available at our outdoor pavilion.
I have been to this hotel for close to 7 years and I have never seen bugs. I even took my mom here . I have been here also at many different times throughout the years I’ve been in April, May, September, October, November. No bugs I have ever seen. I was just there in September 2022
