Detailed Reviews
It is a lovely place however there was just somethings that were hard to look past like the endless tooth brushes that were still there in the bathroom which I felt strange about, all opened not like they were spare. Also the lack of pantry items which in places I have stayed previously on the same budget have at least included oil. This seemed to only be stocked with those left overs from people who had been there.
Whilst clean we did notice it rained and water flooded into the back wet room area which was not nice.
Great array of books and dvd as there is no internet or netflix but we did notice a dodgy almost r rated Jim Beam rubix cube on the top shelf which was a a little tacky.
If you want some where private then this is not for you as the owners watch you like a hawk,

Just spent four fabulous nights at the beautiful cottage visiting our family in Yea.
We have two small kids and it's just a perfect spot for a relaxing break. Beautiful location and still so very close to town. The comfiest beds we have had away from home for years. Snuggly quilts and beautiful towels. Great kitchen with a perfect spacious living area with big dining table. Fabulous outdoor area with a bbq and open fire. There is also a great play house with slide and sand pit that the kids just loved.
Honestly cannot recommend this place enough. Friendliest hosts that really care about your stay and make you feel so welcome.

The Wood Duck cottage was clean and very spacious.
The hosts were very friendly and our children enjoyed picking fresh fruit and veg from the garden, patting the horses in the paddocks and playing on the swing and in the cubby.
The bunkhouse was suitable for children who are a bit older. It was great that it had it's own bathroom within the bunkhouse.
The linen was quality and the beds in the cottage comfortable.
The home made goodies were a lovely touch.

I'm writing this review to forewarn others about the need to be cautious about booking Wood Duck Cottages.
Several months ago I booked this cottage for the Queen's birthday long weekend. I was planning a surprise getaway for my partner and I. The booking was made, paid for and confirmed through Air BnB. Five days before this long weekend the owner of the property informed me by email that the property was no longer available, blaming Air BnB for not letting me know of their decision to withdraw their property from them. I contacted her the next morning to clarify what was going on, informing me of this change, which I was annoyed and angry about. She was kind enough to offer me their home on the same property to make up for their stuff up and last minute cancellation and lack of timely communication.
After thinking we had found a resolution to this, her husband contacted me the next morning, informing me that he had stuffed up and that their home was not available and insincerely apologizing about this...three days before a long weekend!! I told him I wanted a refund immediately, which he refused to give me. It was only after I called his wife that I was able to get a refund.
To save yourself a potential experience of angst, seriously THINK TWICE about this property.
I hope this helps at least one other person or couple.

Looking for a few days of quiet, comfortable, affordable accommodation, my wife and I happened upon Wood Duck Cottage, a couple of kilometres out of delightful Yea in the Goulburn Valley. We were not disappointed. everything about the cottage was, for us, bordering on perfection. Wonderfully appointed and provisioned, quiet, super comfortable bed and a great country view from every window! Our hosts Craig and Catherine ensured that our stay was as we would wish, memorable. Oh, the Goulburn Valley was lovely too.

We are currently staying at a gorgeous cottage in Yea. It is a beautiful and comfortable place in rural Victoria. Two bedrooms, great kitchen and everything you need for a peaceful holiday. We are with friends on a biking weekend exploring the rail trails. There are horses and chooks on the property and cows in the next paddock. Parrots greeted me this morning. Would suit families who want to show their children something of rural life in a lovely setting.

We only stayed for two nights but it made a lasting impression! The owners were fantastic in that they were there if we needed them but stayed away so we could have a lovely romantic weekend away. We stayed in the main two bedroom cottage and it was huge for just the two of us. It has a beautiful kitchen and lounging area with loads of books, DVD's and even a table tennis table! We headed off for the day for a beautiful walk around Lake Eildon and when we got back the owner popped over to tell us that she had set up the outdoor fireplace for us if we wanted to use it. We had a beautiful night sitting by the fire and having a BBQ with pure silence around us. Make sure to bring supplies if coming up from Melbourne. The local shop in Yea has general basics but nothing too exciting. You can get freshly laid eggs from the hens if they're laying also which I thought was lovely. We really really couldn't recommend this place more if you want a really relaxing and quiet break.
