A great stop on the Great Victorian Rail Trail. The rooms have recently been renovated and are clean and comfortable with great beds. There is a great private guest lounge to have pre dinner drinks. The Manager was so accommodating helping us with bike secure lock up and making us really comfortable. The food was good although a couple in our party were a little disappointed with their curry choice.

It's always great to find new places and that what happened here: The Royal Mail Hotel has got a very nice setting with a good size outdoor seating area. The food was a bit slow coming. The bistro was a great atmosphere, good operational air con. We had a great meal and some nice COLD BEER.
Pricing for both meals and drinks seemed reasonable. We went there twice in the space of two weeks and wouldn't hesitate to go back. We would have loved to had a go at the round pool table but because of the corona restrictions were not allowed - what a bummer...

Had lunch today. Salmon cooked to perfection. Beer battered fish delicious and vegi gnocci sauce yummy. Such a well presented pub. Spotless. Grat day with a quiet place to share with the family. Would come again

I booked two rooms for a Saturday night at $170 each. Two weeks later the owner rang to say the price for a weekend was $220, even though this is not stated on the website when I booked direct to the hotel. I couldn't change the booking as the rest of the town was booked out that night for a wedding. Don't stay here if you have mobility issues. The bedrooms are up a steep set of stairs. There is no lift, and no assistance is given with getting bags up the stairs. Our rooms had windows that faced on to a guest / public lounge. The bedroom was tiny, and TV reception poor. There was no wi fi for guests. The fridge in the room was turned off and there was no milk to make a cup of tea. I've given it two points because the rooms were very clean and the bathrooms had been renovated.

Not much to look at from outside but the rooms were 1st class with plenty of places to lounge about outside rooms.
Good meals in hotel and well managed. A nice town to wander around and nice coffee shops close by.

We stayed for one night before starting cycling the Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail at Yea. The hotel downstairs has been beautifully renovated but upstairs is more the original with basic bedrooms and ladies and gents toilets and bathrooms down the corridor. Our bedroom had a wash hand basin which was great. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in our room but I discovered the next morning that there was an electric jug and a toaster on a table on what was obviously a guest lounge (built in veranda). Some rooms appear to open onto this lounge so if you prefer not to have one of these, then ask for a room that faces the car park behind.
We ate dinner there which we both agreed was absolutely excellent. My husband often doesn't like restaurant food but he loved what he had. I had a scallop linguine which was enormous and had lots of beautiful scallops. None of the Chinese restaurant frozen discs but the real thing. Would most definitely eat there again. No breakfast is provided but there are several bakeries down the street. Car parking is at the rear of the hotel. The hotel is quite handy for the rail trail.

Great food. Portions very large and prices fair. Doesn't look like much outside but the inside is beautifully decorated and fresh. Meals came out a bit slow but came all together fir the whole table. Lovely atmosphere

We stayed for a long weekend, and were shocked at how expensive it was. The room was fine, very modern - and unlike other rooms it had a window that faced out of the building, not into the lounge. But the room was not cleaned in three days, there were no fresh towels, and we were left wondering why it cost so much. Its a lovely town, but we would stay in the motel next time.

Yea is a wonderful spot to stop for a break if you're travelling. As a halfway point between Mansfield and Melbourne it's perfect to meet city friends for lunch and a catch up. We chose the Royal Mail Hotel for lunch. It has a friendly vibe, lovely modern decor, comfortable chairs and an interesting seasonal menu at good prices. They also have a good wine list for those who like to taste regional and international wines. We both chose the calamari, chips and salad as it's a favourite. One bite and I knew it was one of the best I've ever eaten. It was perfect - melt in the mouth calamari rings, lightly crumbed and seasoned. The salad was fresh, the dressing tangy and well balanced, the chips crunchy and soft on the inside. The desserts were equally as good. A friendly chat with the chef added to the pleasure of the day. We're both looking forward to our next visit to this pub and happily let others know it's worth a visit.

Recently stayed at Royal Mail hotel in Yea, wow what a delightful surprise when we entered the room. Renovated just under a year ago and what a great job they have done. Classy, stylish rooms really nice decor, fully tiled ensuite. Quiet heater warmed the room nicely mini bar selection if required and if staying with other guests an equally stylish common area to have a drink or chat. Food in the bistro was also top quality , can thoroughly recommend this hotel for a night or weekend stay, you will not be disappointed.
