This property has a lot going for it. It is well equipped with a microwave, electric frying pan, toaster coffee pod machine, coffee press, kettle, T2 loose leaf tea & teapot, instant coffee & tea bags, complimentary bottle of port & chocolates, apple TV with Netflix, puzzles & card games, Books & DVDs, BBQ on the porch, communal hot tub, communal fire fit with seating, quiet gardens with ample seating and good walking/bike tracks nearby. The bed it comfortable, there is a kitchen table and chairs, a comfy chair in the lounge and decent TV. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. They even have a pet friendly cottage which is great and they were very accommodating in helping me remove a giant spider from the cabin which I was to afraid to remove myself :)
Sadly the WiFi was unavailable for the 3 days I was there. The property owners tried very hard to address the issue, even giving me their WiFi nest/hub to take back to my cottage. It is worth saying though that it has been an ongoing issue for the property and maybe WiFi should not be listed as being available until the issue is sorted out (especially because I messaged in advance to confirm WiFi was available). There was also lots of machine work going on the first day I was there, which I understand these things happen, but it did cause a lot of noise and dust which made the first day quite uncomfortable. The couch also is very uncomfortable as it sinks in and causes back pain. I went in search for those vistas of rolling hills on the property, but they are not actually on the property itself - but you can easily walk down the road and see these lovely vistas.
The owners are working very hard to get this accommodation perfect and it is very clear they are trying very hard to make that happen. It will not be long before they achieve their goal of perfection. I rally enjoyed my stay and would love to come back and stay again.

After dropping my sister off at Tullamarine, I drove an easy hour drive to Trawool. Had a lovely 2 night stay at the Trawool cottages with my dog. Loved the cottage as soon as I stepped in. Big comfortable bed with electric blankets, split system air conditioner, gorgeous fire place, well equipped kitchen. I loved that the porch had a gate so my dog could sit out there and I didn’t need to worry about him wandering. Great walking/riding track across the road that goes for miles. Also the room delivered breakfast was a massive bonus. Mel also lined me up a masseur to come to the cottage. Didn’t jump in the spa but it looked tempting. Got a surprise visit from a beautiful peacock.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottages. So clean and comfortable! The surrounds were so scenic and relaxing. We loved that the restaurant was a 30 second walk from our cottage so that made a stress free one stop shop. Mel the hostess was so lovely and welcoming. We would revommend the Trawool Cottages to everyone!

I stayed as a lone guest for 3 nights, the cottage exceeded all my expectations, spacious, homely, tasteful with all the conveniences I would wish for. Melissa's and Aaron's hospitality was outstanding, I was immediately offered the loan of a bicycle when I asked about bicycle hire. I walked instead along the railway trails. Quiet beautiful and peaceful location, yet only minutes by car from Seymour and 35 mins from Chateau Tahbilk, my favourite winery. Aaron's touch as a chef was evident in the breakfasts. Can't thank both of them enough for making a single traveller feel so welcome. Thank you!

We stayed for 3 nights in one of two cottages on this property. Our hosts, Lindy and Bruce were very friendly and obliging and the 2 family dogs, Penny and Duncan, and Feralina the cat, were absolutely hilarious and very entertaining. Our cottage was absolutely beautiful with comfy leather couches, throw rugs, and cushions. We had a kitchenette, a very comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom. The cottage had a soaring wood lined cathedral ceiling which made it very atmospheric. There was a log fire as well as an air conditioner which kept the cottage very warm and cosy. I would thoroughly recommend the cottages, especially for a romantic getaway. There is other accommodation in the main building, and you can bring your pet if you wish. There is also a café and you can have breakfast and an evening meal there if you wish (the hosts are excellent cooks too!)

Hi Guys, thanks for your response, it is always a great feeling to get a good review. We are always trying to maintain a relaxed connection without dropping the service level. Not always achievable, but like you, the vast majority of guests have a great time. Thanks again and Duncan, Penne and Feralina send their regards, Bruce & Lindy.

Stayed there in one of the cottages for 3 nights utilising a Travel Auctions Voucher. We found the cottage accommodation delightful - cosy, warm and inviting on what was cold weather conditions during our stay. You have a choice of airconditioner &/or wood combustion fire heating. Cottages are approx 20 years old but have retained excellent condition throughout aside from carpets which we were advised are shortly to be replaced with polished boards - this would definately add to the overall ambiance of the cottage. Most things provided eg microwave, outside BBQ. Bed was very comfy and clean as was the general appearance of the accommodation. Includes a lovely covered decking which would be great during warmer months to just sit and relax/read a book/put your feet up. Plenty of good things to do using this as a base including various walks in the Seymour district and wineries to visit. Food is available at the cafe - we enjoyed a delightful breakfast on the 1st morning as part of the deal - Eggs Benedict was about the best I have tried. In summary well worth a visit. Would go again.

Thanks for the great review. As you mentioned we are in the processing of renovating the cottages, matter of fact I spent most of the day today, ripping up tiles (found out it isnt for the feint hearted) . The new floor is booked to be laid next week, so if you decide to revisit it should be looking a million bucks, whilst maintaining the old world charm. Interesting thing about the beds, we tried them out when we purchased the place and were really surprised how comfortable they are, subsequently everyone agrees with you. Again, thanks from all of us. Bruce, Lindy, Duncan, Penne and Feralina.

Had a most wonderful relaxing two night stay.
Cottages were warm and cosy, hosts Bruce and Lindy were terrific and the food was really good. So nice to be able to order food and have it brought to the cottage. It's dog friendly if you organise it beforehand. Can highly recommend it for a quiet country sojourn.

My wife and I were given a gift voucher for a weekend here and were looking forward to a nice quiet weekend. Although the rooms are quite nice we found the place showing its age and perhaps not as clean as they should have been. It was also cold and rainy but couldn't use the wood heater as only one piece of wood was supplied and they were asking $20 for a refill of the wood basket. Each cabin has a little verandah to sit on, but again bbq supplied was extremely filthy. The surroundings are beautiful and the families pet dogs were cute and friendly but unfortunately this is not enough to bring us back.

Hi Michael, thanks for your review, it is always helpful to find out what we can do better. These cottages are an older style, however we generally get favourable comments, so we are disheartened that you found them showing their age. We do apologise that you ou didn't think the cleanliness was up to scratch as we do take pride in our property and try to ensure that everything is looking good for guests. It is unfortunate that you did not tell us that you found the BBQ dirty, as whilst being unacceptable to have a dirty BBQ, we could have cleaned it for you and remedied your problem. In regard to the wood, we do supply a full basket for guests , complimentary, during the cooler months, and yes we do charge for additional loads to on a user pays basis. Whilst some people think firewood is free I can assure that it is not, so rather than increasing our prices to cover the cost, we give our guests the option to purchase additional firewood. Your basket was empty as during the summer months we are extremely conscious of high fire danger and given the temperatures in summer we rarely need heating of any kind. Having said this there is a reverse cycle air conditioner that enables you to heat the room should you require it. Again, thank you for you review and we will certainly take steps to rectify those issues that we have control over. Regards Bruce & Lindy

The cottages are beautifully done with high ceilings and the wood fire continues to set the scene for a beautiful weekend. Lots of animals to see including chooks, dogs, cat and alpacas.
Would recommend this to anyone for a great weekend away.
