Marysville Garden Cottages have eight cottages designed for couples looking for a relaxing retreat. Located in Marysville's main street, the cottages have a touch of old world charm while still integrating modern comforts and are within a short stroll to cafes and shops. Inside, the cottages vary slightly, but all have a relaxed country feel. Classic features included in some of the cottages are a claw foot bath, box window seat, timber flooring and stained-glass windows. Other indulgent features available are a luxury deep-soaking bath or double spa bath. Each cottage has a gas log fire, perfect for Marysville's chilly winter months. While these cottages generally cater for couples with a queen or king size bed, some can accommodate separate sleeping arrangements for one extra adult via a sofa bed or day bed. All have been designed using energy saving principles which add to your comfort and minimalise environmental impact. Each cottage has its own private veranda overlooking different aspects of the garden.

My husband and I booked for four nights as he wanted to go Fly fishing and I was going to do walks and scrapbooking. We stayed in the Spring Cottage which was was tastefully decorated and had a kitchenette, very comfortable sofa and a queen bed as well as a huge bathroom which feature a large freestanding bath, big shower and good lighting over the mirror above the wash basin. The cottages are set in a lovely garden which has seating. Unfortunately, my husband became ill with a flu type illness, not Covid, and he just wanted to return home on our third morning. Tracy, the owner was very understanding and kindly gave us credit for our unused nights, to be used when hubby is well enough to go fly fishing again. Much appreciated.

We spent the weekend here and the Garden Cottages were excellent. The small touches such as complimentary port and lovely shortbread as well as the lovely products in the bathroom really made this an enjoyable stay. The location is very good for exploring Marysville - there were many walks that are easily accessible from the cottages. It was nice just to be able to arrive on the Friday, check in very smoothly, and then leave the car in the parking space for the weekend. Highly recommended.

Marysville garden cottages are the perfect spot for a getaway. The cottage is comfortable and warm. The hosts have gone above and beyond with all the added extras they supplied. Top class toiletries supplied, a great little food pack with proper coffee, biscuits, chocolate and lollies. Right in Marysville close to all shops and restaurants. We stayed in the Autumn cottage. Came back one afternoon and we had flowers left on the outside table. Highly recommend, can't fault anything about it.

We booked the cottage to revisit memories and get away to quietly celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, our honeymoon accommodation of fifty years ago was destroyed in the fires. We found the cottages quite beautiful - private andset within a fascinating cottage garden. Built by the owner, it was full of little added extras and trimmings, subtle but adding lots of class to an accommodating design. The owners were very attentive, with clean linen and towels readily available as required and a vase of fresh flowers added to the overall feeling of caring and specialty. A gift and card acknowledging the anniversary date was much appreciated. Marysville is a special country town and deserves lots of visitors to continue to regenerate the town. There are plenty of walks and interesting drives which are beautiful and occasionally heartbreaking when the sun shines over the mountains of tall silver skeletons of trees in the distance.

This is a delightful place to stay. We stayed in Orchard Cottage and it was fabulous. We had a huge room with a little kitchen - microwavve only but I wasn't there to cook! The small kitchen is enough for 2 people. The ensuite was huge - a lovely roll top bath with separate toilet and shower. All finishes inside and outside were excellent and reflected the owners' attention to detail. We had rev cycle a/c as well as a cosy gas log fire and a TV hidden in the mirror! Wow! There was a wrap around porch that was a lovely sunny spot to eat our lunch on the balcony. There was a carport for our car and unlike many places, we could park at our front door. Location is great - in the main street but sooo quiet. Forget the big chains and support the locals. You could walk everywhere.

Would highly recommend Marysville Garden Cottages, the owners have thought of every little detail to make your stay very comfortable, even the little touches like the daffodils they left us on the table on our verandah. I had emailed Rod a few times before our stay and he was great, and happy to help and answer our questions. We stayed in the Autumn Cottage for 2 nights, the cottage was very clean, the bed was comfortable, we had a lovely fireplace which warmed up the cottage really quickly. The location of the cottages are within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. We will definitely return back to stay here, and have also recommended the cottages to family and friends. If you are in the area and looking for a great place to stay in Marysville, this place is fantastic.

I stayed in Winter cottage for a 3 night solo getaway. It exceeded my expectations. The owners have thought of everything. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and in the perfect location, right at the end of the Main Street. I explored many of the great walks in the area and did not need to use my car at all. The claw foot bath was perfect after a day’s walking. The cottage design makes the most of space with the swiveling mirror TV and very clever addition. The cottage feels fresh, airy and clean with great views from the room and the small balcony area. I spoke to the manager twice while booking and on arrival and also met the owners. They were all delightful to interest with. Booking direct is encouraged so that multi national companies are left out and I was thrilled to receive a bottle of wine as a thank you for booking this way. I hope I can come back soon.

My husband and I have just spent the best 2 nights at the Marysville Garden Cottages in the Spring cottage and it was fabulous. It was exactly what we hoped for and needed and the expectation didn’t disappoint. It was meticulously clean and had everything you could want. The toiletries were beautiful and I like that that they were in large containers, not land filling little bottles. Great location in the middle of this beautiful town and walking distance to everything. The bed was comfortable, we were warm on chilly nights and we slept very well. The complimentary bottle of Cabernet merlot was delicious, unexpected and very much appreciated. We recommend without hesitation.

I couldn't fault the beautiful 'Winter' cottage we stayed in, or the lovely location in Marysville. Everything in the cottage spoke of quality and attention to detail, and it was immaculately clean. The warm and generous touches of the owners, fresh cut flowers from the garden, nice shortbread and chocolate to have with coffee and tea, made us feel welcome. Soaking in the claw foot bath with plentiful hot water was a treat after a day hiking the trails. The peaceful surrounds were only interrupted by birdsong (if Sulfur Crested Cockatoos can be described as song) . Our stay was a great way to leave behind our city life. We will return, and bring friends and family. Thank you for everything Tracy and Anthony

Just like the title says you literally cannot fault this place.
We drove up late from Melbourne and I specifically booked these cottages because of the quick response email confirming they do contactless check in so not limited by time. Passcode was sent to us on Thursday and we slowly drove up on the Friday.
We stayed in the botanica cottage which is huge, has a kitchenette, king size bed, parking right at the door and the bathtub is huge!
Location is amazing, you’re literally in town and across the road from all the cafes and restaurants, a little bit of traffic noise during the day but dead quiet at night.
Would definitely stay again!

We have quite an informative compendium in the cottages to find out about all the things to do in and around Marysville, some things near the cottages are: walk to Bruno’s Sculpture Garden, Visit Stevenson Falls, (at night it is floodlit and just beautiful), drive 10 mins to Keppel’s lookout (breathtaking views), take a picnic lunch down to one of the many picnic areas beside a crystal clear stream, (ask at the Marysville info centre or just study the map of the area that will also be in your cottage).
The Buxton Trout Farm (10 mins from Marysville), is an exciting way of catching a feed, (if you take your catch up the road to the Bucky Pub, they’ll cook it with chips and salad for just $10)
There is a great Mountain Bike Park in Buxton(but you must bring your own bike)
There are heaps of nature walking trails around here, you can download the Marysville app now and take it with you when you’re wandering around.
Photo Exhibition at the Marysville Visitor Information Centre displays the history and devastation of the Black Saturday Bushfires (for a small fee).
Plus many more things to do, (but you’ll need to stay longer if you want to do them all).
For a little further out - things to do in the Yarra Valley: a few of my favourite things would be; a balloon flight, visit the Healesville Sanctuary, Eat something at the Yarra Glen Chocolaterie.
Hope this helps, Regards -Anthony from Marysville Garden Cottages.
