We decided stay around Mallacoota for a few days and decided on Karbeethong Lodge as our residence, we chose a front room with a view over the lake - a good decision, the view was terrific. Sitting on the verandah , or in the dining room or lounge all with fantastic views over the lake is wonderful. It probably does...

We came down to Mallacoota for a family gathering and decided to stay at Karbeethong Lodge. Upon arrival we were cheerfully greeted by Russell, who was the owner and had stayed up till late hours awaiting our arrival (as we got caught in bad weather on the way). But rest assured, despite the few rainy days, our trip was one...

Contrary to anything you read from Donna below. The fact this visitor can say "there is nothing to do in Mallacoota" and "no TV" says it all. No it's not the Hilton but that's just the point. It is so rare nowadays to find a place without TV, forcing you to read a book or God forbid have a conversation...

We were very comfortable in this relaxed and serene setting. As bird lovers, we were delighted to see Gallahs, King Parrots, Eastern Rosellas, Wedged Tail Eagle, etc., from the porch. At twilight, a great surprise was to see multitudes of Fruit Bats sailing silently overhead. We loved cooking in the communal kitchen and sharing stories/experiences with other guest at the...

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Host, Russell, very helpful in replacing things that did not work, i.e. One side of the electric blanket . Also in suggesting things to do,taking one of the coastal walks, absolutely lovely! not much to do in Mallacoota Inlet, just enjoying the view from the very large verandah . Also suggested was a 2.30 hour...

Awesome view (ask for a room at the front) over the lake, small but cosy rooms, very good shower! and lovely breakfast included. Really cosy atmosphere inside and out, with beautiful breakfast table, cosy chairs and all. Don't expect a tv and entertainment, but come here to relax and enjoy the view. The owner/host is very welcoming and thoughtful. Really,...

Perhaps it was the poor weather that put us in a bad mood, but this place did not change anything. We've not had any luck with B&B's. It had a good view, but was certainly not at the beach, nor were the grounds pretty, as nobody had done anything to the landscaping in many many years. The rooms were atrocious,...

Karbethong Lodge was the perfect place for a short – 4 day break – during a journey down the NSW and Victorian coastlines. The Lodge is an old fashioned Guest House – originally built in the 1920’s and updated while still retaining its 1920’s character. The bedrooms are small but quite adequate. They are nicely painted and furnished to match...

We stayed at Karbeethong Lodge for two nights, and really loved it. We felt like at home, rooms are very cosy, common areas very charming and welcoming, and the views on the lake and mountains just breathtaking ! Plus the hosts are very nice, helpful, and discrete at the same time. Only one tiny detail, more maintenance of the rooms...

We loved our stay at Karbeethong Lodge. We arrived after a very long journey, feeling exhausted and were restored to sanity by sitting on the verandah with a cup of tea, looking out towards the sea. We appreciated the amazing birdlife all around (especially the kookaburra!) and the calm presence of Russell's dog. The rooms are simple here but we...
