Karbeethong lodge reminds me of old pavilions from the victorian era. It has a central communal lounge, dining room and kitchen, with small guest rooms along each side. Rooms were OK, although the bathrooms are small. We enjoyed walking all around the local area. Russell was a great host, and made an excellent recommendation for dinner at Lucy's in town....

We have been here regularly over the years. For us it is the very best holiday destination in Australia. The building dates back to the beginning of federation and has been a guest house since the early 20s. The view over the Mallacoota inlet (which looks as large as Sydney harbour) is one of Australia's very best views. Accommodation is...

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. You can relax on the veranda overlooking a wide garden and listen to nothing but the ocean. Russell is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the large kitchen and dining area and met many interesting people from all over the world. There is lots to do and see...

The Lodge was very well set. Nice and clean and has wonderful gardens. A very peaceful and lovely spot to spend some time. Pity that we only had a night. The manager is very friendly and the breakfast is good. The open fire should be a nice feature in winter.

Boy I'm glad we did that. Lovely place old world charm very quiet spotless and relaxing. Can see it as destination in winter too with beautiful view and fireplace. And thank you to our gracious host Russell for telling the best and worst jokes and being so helpful. I'm not a breakfast person and I was inspired to enjoy yours...

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Karbeethong as part of a 30th wedding anniversary trip to Victoria. Other reviewers have discussed the facilities which the lodge offers so i won't repeat them here. We enjoyed the stay at the lodge and liked the ability to organise some deals there rather than eating out. The room was clean and...

Our room with ensuite bathroom opened onto the sweeping verandah looking over pretty lawns and gardens and the lake. Breakfast was included in the price: a lavish self-serve array of cereals, fruits, toast and spreads. If you wanted a cooked breakfast, you could make your own. There were no cooking facilities in the room, which was definitely NOT a problem,...

Ten of us stayed for two nights and loved it. The weather was kind so we spent more time on the spacious veranda than in the equally welcoming lounge, though on our first night which was a little chilly we enjoyed the open fire. The walks from the lodge are also lovely. Russell was unobtrusive but very helpful and provided...

Loved our stay. Breakfast and view were great - a little step back in time in a comfortable and comforting way. What to expect: moderate hotel ensuite rooms but with large shared kitchen, dining and 'drawing' room - all lovely appointed with water views. Fire place, books to peruse - good for both those who like to socialise and those...

We stayed here on the way to Melbourne, from Sydney just to break up the driving. It was such a lovely place I wish we had of had longer. Seems like the perfect place to unwind away from the chaos of the city. The rooms are really comfortable and stylish and the lodge itself is this beautiful old character-filled building....
