A very clean caravan park with a focus on keeping customers happy. A heated swimming pool (now 2 decent sized pools) to cool down on those hot days. Native fauna share the park with you, kangaroos, emus, ducks, cockatoos, kookaburras, rosellas being main attractions.

If you are interested in walking trails this is the place to be with so many choices for the fit and not so fit.

Best caravan and tourist park I’ve stayed in! After staying here it’s no longer the Grampians, but the GRANDpians for me!

My family and I enjoyed every minute of our stay here. From before we arrived Josephine was just the nicest, friendliest and warmest host to talk to. She knew exactly what we needed for my family (family of 4 with a 2yo and a 12yo and a family member visiting from overseas) to have a fantastic time.

Once we arrived the crew were so friendly and welcoming, happy to help and give you tips and directions on what to do and where to go. Even gave us the best times to do each activity!

The park itself was very tidy, clean and beautifully maintained. We were lucky to stay at cabin 12 and were spoiled rotten with a view to die for and wildlife galore! The cabin itself was phenomenal. Really well put together, everything was superb. Practically brand new site, with a spacious deck kitted out with Webber bbq and outdoor setting. The inside was light, tastefully decorated and had everything you could ask for. Beds were very comfy, with crisp white linen sheets and pillows. Both bedrooms and the bathrooms were spacious and very clean. A great laundry and even better kitchen!

As far as accommodations go this is probably, if not, the best place I’ve stayed at! My kids enjoyed the pool, playground and watching all the emus and kangaroos walking around. Us grown ups enjoyed the serenity and tranquility of this gorgeous place. Not having wifi forced us to ‘unplug’ and if we were desperate to get our ‘social fix’ there was a wifi hub decked out at front of the office to take care of that too.

Cooked our own barbie every night and just sat back and relaxed watching the sunset against the glorious mountain side while listening native birds sing and the ‘Roos make their way in for the nighttime feed. And in the morning got up to watch the sunrise while enjoying a cuppa. Just magic.

Best holiday we’ve had as a family with a toddler! Never once worried about him running away onto a busy road, or being bored!

Cannot wait to come back again with my boys, and will absolutely bring any traveler from outside Australia here! They will be blown away!!

Thanks a million Josephine and crew! We loved our time with you guys at your ‘little’ piece of heaven. It was most gezellig. :-)

There aren’t many resorts in Australia where you are awaken by the morning calls of cockatoos and having scale the mountains and chase the waterfalls during the days, you are greeted by kangaroos in the evenings before you retire to bed. This tourists park is one of a kind living experience to embrace the wonder of nature and lives of wilderness.

This is the second time I've stayed at Lakeside. The first time was 3 and a half years ago. It was an enjoyable stay with all the basics and at a very affordable price. Over three years later, and I could hardly recognise the place! Its been renevated and upgraded and still at a really affordable price!

I stayed the night with a good friend of mine in the budget couples cabin which was really really nice. Had everything you could possibly need! A confortable bed, TV with a dvd slot where we enjoyed a film after a big day of sight seeing and hiking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, just how I remembered it the first time I visited.

Our cabin had our webber bbq on the porch so we were able to enjoy a bbq that evening. Walking around the park, its huge! And has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay whether youre camping or staying in a cabin.

The pool was awesome! Quite big and heated. It was amazing to have a heated pool that was actually warm. Id say at least 30+ degrees. Its wood fire heated and thats pretty cool.

As we strolled around the park, theres a playground for the kids and a bunch of trampolines. Who wouldnt love that! My friend and I decided to let our inner child out and have a jump on one of the bigger trampolines. It was so much fun!

Anywhere you walk around the park is beautiful and pucturesque. Such a peaceful location I could have stayed a week or more. The location is a little bit out of town. Easilly acceasible by car, a bit of a hike if youre walking but its an incredible location.

Throughout the park kangaroo roam around grazing, and my friend and I were thrilled to encounter wild emu on the field! Ive never seen an emu in the wild despite being born and raised here in Australia. It was incredible. But what was even more incredible were the stars at night. My friend and I walked out into the park around 11pm. The night was clear, and the stars shone like nothing Ive ever seem before! My friend is from Europe and shed never seen anything like it. She was really excited to visit the Grampians and im grateful for Lakeside for making this such a special trip for her!

Highly recommend this place whether youre travelling with friends, family, couples. The cost is very affordable. You could charge 10 times as much for a location like this, but the fact its accessible to budget travellers and families at times where we may need to tighte our belts a little makes this place a incredible value for money. Great to have places like this around.

Lakeside Halls Gap is the ideal spot to reconnect to nature and enjoy a really spectacular part of Australia. Dont hesitate to stay here if youre considering it!! :D

Thevery affordable price - i definitely got incredible value for money)

We stayed in a two bedroom spa cabin. Bed comfort is sublime. King size bed in each room and they were beyond comfortable. Couch comfortable in loungeroom and good comfortable furniture on decking. Cabin clean too. I felt the kitchen crockery and cutlery supplies were minimal but we coped. Beautiful grounds. Nice bbq on the decking.
