We stayed at the hotel in October – and sent an email after expressing disappointment at things like threadbare towels. We never heard back. It was a bit disappointing to be dismissed like this. We also thought it would have been a nice gesture to have complimentary drinking water in the room, rather than having to pay for bottled water...

We decided to visit Dunkeld on our way to Adelaide for the first Day/Night Test & it was a great experience. We enjoyed two fine dining meals as well as breakfast, which was part of the room package. Reception leaves a lot to be desired as the friendly smiling staff don't seem to know a lot and certainly don't recognise...

It is now a month since my wife and I, and our good friends dined at the Royal Mail Hotel, and the memories of the evening still linger. It was a Degustation Dined of 6 courses complimented by wines chosen by the Sommelier from the Royal Mail's own cellar. From the beginning of the meal which featured Sheeps Milk Cottage...

Just needed a quick feed after a sweaty walk up mt abrupt- what a treat. Impeccable sirloin steak with chips, green salad, perfect onion rings and a big scoop of horseradish cream. Just wish I'd had a bigger glass of red from the massive list. Eating outside was lovely, (the bar atmosphere is a bit lacking). The Potato and leek...

We stayed here about 5 years ago: it was a memorable experience. Tonight was very disappointing. We stayed in one of the cottages across the road. It is very basic, no wifi, instant coffee, no telephone. We ate in the restaraunt and opted for the eight course degustation and matching wines. The food was hit and miss. Most of the...

Dear Stephen J, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to...

So much to love about the Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkeld, after driving for hours we arrived to such a stunning view which makes it so worth the trip! The staff are friendly and profession and were very helpful as we hadn't booked dinner reservations ( which you must do in advance ) the dining room was full so we...

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for such a great review. It is always a pleasure to know that our guests are truly enjoying our view of the Grampians that we offer here. The good part is that the hotel is easy to find off the main road through Dunkeld and on the western edge of the town. Almost all of the staff are very friendly and try to be helpful too. The cottage rooms (about $300 per night on a weekend) are about 4km away so you'll need to drive up to...

Dinner in the bar was rubbish and the wine list was way overpriced. We heard the waitress say the first year apprentice chef was running the kitchen! How does this happen on a long weekend? Breakfast was under-whelming. Believe it or not, one type of bread for toasting and it was too small for the toaster. No pepper and salt...

We stayed in a deluxe room which was very nicely appointed. The bed was comfy as and the bathroom beautiful. the Foxtel didn't work unfortunately but we weren't there for the TV. The grounds were lovely to walk around and well maintained. The restaurant experience was really unique. We had the 8 course menu which was full of flavours and...

Let's start with the positives. 1. The rooms were large, clean and we'll equipped. 2. The staff were pleasant and friendly. 3. The food in the so called two hats restaurant was unusual, although a translation of some of the items on the menu was required. 4. The food when it eventually arrived was good but portions were small. My wife...
