Hi Warren, Thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Thanks for the perfect score! Yes agreed, it is nice to have the buffet up and running again after so long and hopefully everything else returns back to pre-Covid sooner rather than later. We hope to see you again soon. Well where to start. Rooms reasonable, got what we paid for and we were happy for the price. 2 adults and 2 kids. The pool was nice, gym area left a lot to be desired, needs some mats etc.....aseptic and wipes need to be more frequently available. Towels had to walk down to reception to grab. But not many hotels in the area with an indoor pool and gym which is great in cooler weather. Food, well that's a whole different ball game. We were on a trip as my daughter was competing at the Australian Athletics Championship's. Shes 12 yrs, my son 9 years. One evening we decided to bite the bullet as my daughter had her biggest competition the following day and go to the restaurant lounge for dinner to get an early night. We arrived around 6.45pm, seated at 7pm. Ordered our meals. Told there was a 45minute wait, so we thought we'd have a drink and persisted. At 8pm, we were told dinner would be out in a moment, hooray, my two kids excited...and daughter worried about competing on minimal sleep...30mintues later, asked again. Hostess apologised, furious patrons up in rooms coming down to get refunds. But we thought there is only us and one other party waiting now for meals, surely soon. 9pm came, we have been there since 6.45pm and still no food. At this rate we would be cooking ourselves, and if it wasn't for the fact that we needed to be somewhere early we would have left. My kids had already left and we said we would call on them when dinner was ready. At 9.30pm, 2 plus plus hours later our meals arrived. I was disgusted...what was worse there was not even an offer of return for free, discount...nothing we paid the full amount upon checkout for the worst and I mean the worst service we have ever received. We are generally pretty understanding people, but when you fly in from Perth for the main event, you expect to not have to be concerned about a nearly 3 hour wait for dinner. I mean at 7.30pm, if we were told, dinner not going to make it for another 2hrs we would have got up, had more respect for the service and left. So then there was rhe buffet breakfast, first day a novelty, but by morning 3 and 4, and the lack of product out, the constant need to ask for fruit, honey, pancake mix, museli and the list goes on was frustrating. My father inlaw was visiting too and by the end we sat and watched the kids eat as it was not worth the money. We even asked to just order a breakfast meal, but was told we had to order in the room. I mean yoghurt in kids school pouches, yuck.....So disappointing. I know there were covid restrictions, but if its on offer, and given the amount paying to eat the service still needs to be provided, not a cheap B&B breakfast. The eggs station tho....fresh!! And yummy! That being said, we paid a good price to stay here, the hotel was great, comfortable, reasonable, it was wonderful in letting us in our room early. It was just the dinning experience that was the disappointment and after our dinner experience we knew to stay away from the lounge. We would stay again, and recommend, we just know what to do and expect with regards to dining for next time. Thanks you Rydges for the 7 nights ;-)

Hi Mich, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and can use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. Your feedback regarding the extremely long wait in our main restaurant will be shared with the food and beverage team as I can assure you this is very unusual. We will also share your feedback regarding the breakfast so that we can make necessary improvements. My sincere apologies that your week was great however a let down in the dining department. Kind Regards, The Rydges Parramatta team

We have stayed several times over the last few years and Rydges haven’t let us down once. Checkin is always easy, this time I didn’t even have to do anything, Karen just said hi and slid my key across the counter. Felt like coming home. We were up graded to a great room, big spacious, looking out towards Sydney city. The bed was comfy. Room clean, as always, ate in restaurant and food was great 👍. Great to see the breakfast buffet back to full swing and the staff still happy and friendly. I know the building is showing it’s age, but it’s always clean, well maintained and the people always friendly. We will continue to stay when visiting Sydney. I highly recommend to travelers
