We enjoyed very much our time at the Ivanhoe House B&B in Manly, Sydney, so much that we stayed there in two separated occasions. The room we stayed at was on the upper floor, called the Verandah Room. It had all the comforts I was expecting for the price, plus additional items such as beach towels and beach chairs, extra...

We recently stayed for three nights at Ivanhoe House. We were greeted on arrival by the very friendly owner who showed us to our garden view room. The room was bright and very clean and had everything you could need and more including fresh cakes each day. We were provided with lots of local knowledge, best beaches and restaurants etc....

We would return to Ivanhoe House on our trips to Sydney and refer others to stay there also. The position is excellent within walking distance to Manly Corso and the ferry to Syney city. Good restaurants nearby who will also do deliveries

My partner and I visited Manly for 5 nights as part of our tour of Sydney and the surrounding areas and we had the most wonderful find in Ivanhoe House. The owners, Roger and Julie, couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. The room was immaculate and the location was perfect - a short 10 minute...

My husband and I stayed for a few days while we did family things around Sydney. Although Manly is a little out of the way it's not too bad in a car and the location of the B&B for the beach and restaurants in Manly itself is great. The Garden Room is surrounded by greenery and although near a main...

So glad I found this quiet spot in Manly; I could enjoy Sydney and then stay in a quiet spot close to Manly Beach but away from the fray. Julie and Roger went out of their way to make sure I had whatever I needed.

My husband and I have stayed at Ivanhoe House twice - once several years ago and again last month, when we attended a friend's funeral nearby. Julie and Roger are so friendly and made us feel so welcome each time, particularly on our most recent visit, arranging a cab to take us to the funeral and offering ice and sympathy...

Hello again Thank you so much for taking time to write this wonderful review. It was lovely to meet up with you again, although of course it was not the best of circumstances. I'm always so happy to arrive and knowing I'll be back in three months keeps me from being sad when I leave. Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.

“We only stayed at the Verandah Room, so can only say that it was wonderful. Access to the Verandah room requires walking up some stairs. If this is an issue for some guests, then there is another room which has direct access from the street level. ”
