Spending 1 night on the Northern Beaches with a family of 4, our first thought was to look for two hotel rooms in Manly. Somehow we snagged a private 3 bedroom cottage at the Q Station instead. This cost $438 for a Sunday night which was not only cheaper but much quieter and infinitely more interesting. The bedrooms and lounge...

As you can imagine this site dates from the 1800's and so do the buildings so the accommodation is fairly basic, It's worth paying a bit extra and getting a room with an en suite rather than sharing with spooks and possums. The views are exceptional and the history attached to the site is remarkable and chilling. We also did...

This is a good place to stay if you would like to slow down . Parking is at the entrance of the hotel, you are then bused to your room. We had a harbour view balcony room and the views were spectacular. The Resturant was nice for dinner and the little beach was very attractive. Staff were very helpful with...

I stayed here back in 2014 for business and it didn't quite suit my needs but I decided to stay here again as I had a bit more time up my hands and I am really glad I did. Not being on a time pressure I really had the change to experience the whole place, I took a whole day...

We had an amazing one night stay at Q Station. I suggest you read about the hotel before booking and get an idea what to expect as it isn't a typical hotel. But that's why we loved it! If you are driving, you leave your car in the car-park at reception and a comfortable shuttle bus will take you to...

We stayed three nights at the Q Station with our two children aged 13 and 16. It's a quieter scene than the hustle and bustle of Main Street Manly but it's a little inconvenient for getting around. You arrive at a reception area where you can park and leave your car and then from this point you catch the hotel...

We have just returned from a very enjoyable and relaxing 5 day staycation / break at Q Station. This place is truly a hidden treasure on our doorstep! What's to love: History, Quarantine Beach, INCREDIBLE views, good daily housekeeping, friendly staff, tucked away location... A little slice of tranquillity in hectic Sydney! What's not to love: No exhaust fan in...

My husband took me as a surprise to stay at Q station for my birthday. Unfortunately he didn't read about the hotel before booking so was surprised when we had to be bused down to our accommodation leaving the car in an unsecure area near the reception desk. Our room was nice enough with a seperate lounge, dressing area and...

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
