I stayed here for one night as part of a work conference. What an experience, this place is the most haunted place in Australia. We had a few questionable experiences, light flickering, strange music, orbs. All the accommodation has been updated and it was a very comfortable stay. if I have any complaint it would be that the shuttle bus...

We stayed in a 3 bedroom cottage which had a good sized kitchen (no oven only a microwave), 2 loungerooms 2 bathrooms and it was very spacious. The views were the best you could get anywhere in Sydney. It has very extensive grounds with original historic buildings in the grounds used for accommodation. They have different tours of the site...

History abounds here in every corner of this wonderful restoration. A quiet corner of Sydney with space, warm rooms, nature nearby and all of North Head ( and Manly ) at your door step. All accessible by public transport and cared for by friendly helpful people. Next time I will bring friends to enjoy it with. You can travel here...

Booked the Q station for 2 nights because we had seen good reviews and needed somewhere to stay on the north side of the harbour. Weren't sure what the go was re parking so parked our car at the front gate and made our way to reception. Could not have been easier. Reception was a breeze and there was a...

Fabulous weekend away with the girls. We arrived at Q station at 12.30 and were able to check straight away..David at reception was extremely helpful and friendly. The service around the property I could not fault. No cars are allowed on the property so a mini bus takes you around the property and we never had to wait too long to...

We went here thinking it was more of a luxury resort. The website talked about spas and special restaurants and such. It was not. It was basically converted barrack rooms. With that said, it was an adequate place to stay and provides a much needed window in to historical activities. We enjoyed our stay, the included breakfast was good, and...

We tend to avoid high-rise establishments and large busy resorts (if possible), in favour of quiet retreats with some acreage, yet with all the main creature comforts. The Q Station, spread out over several hectares – in a convenient, picturesque harbourside location – was just perfect for us. Of the various accommodation choices and precincts, we booked a deluxe room...

While we didn't actually get to see a ghost the tour through the quarantine station was fantastic. Our guide had an incredible knowledge of the history of the station and what happened and to whom it happened. She really set the scene and while the actual ghostly manifestation didn't occur ere where plenty of spine tingling moments. The tour ran...

The suite we had was very comfy with a marvellous view of the harbour. We were there at time when the weather was wild so visiting the external bathroom with numerous drips over the door and horizontal rain was an adventure to say the least! Great bathroom once you got there. Q Station Sydney Harbour is a different experience and...

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
