We were walking Offa's dyke and booked this without any great expectations as the website didn't really communicate its magnificence. But it was amazing from the moment we arrived at the door. Friendly, fantastic rooms with great view across the countryside and brilliant dinner and wine (the Vongole was superb) and good breakfast. All for a ridiculous low price, less...

This was clearly an Hotel with an outstanding atmosphere of customer first, with it's emphasis on friendliness expressed by the staff and in particular the Manager. The Hotel though in need of some refurbishment, was nevertheless and pleasure to be there. The staff were outstanding in the open friendliness and make sure you were comfortable and relaxed. The bedroom was...

The hotel has been refurbished in the last couple of years and the public areas and room we had were to a very high standard. Our very large and comfortable bedroom had a lovely open view over the wonderful Welsh countryside with access to peaceful walks right outside the hotel. Thanks to Jose for looking after us so attentively.

The views down the valley towards Presteigne and the hills beyond are idyllic and the peace and quiet have to be experienced...

Having booked our stay over the 'phone I casually mentioned that we may want to horse ride and play golf, and within an hour Jose had called us back to advise what, where and how. After a tiring 3 1/2 hour drive we arrived at the Hotel in cold wet Norton at 9:45pm - just after the restuarant had closed....

We arrived on our bikes (pedal) just after a cloud burst,on a very wet saturday evening. There were eight in our group, and we had travelled about 35 miles that day in very hilly, but beautifull Welsh countryside with outstanding views. Although wet and tired,we received a very warm reception from all the staff.(even the chef ) The palacial hall with magnificent staircase...
