On arrival we weren't really made to feel welcome, it felt like we were being processed rather than greeted. We paid for bed, breakfast and evening meals as we thought this would be the better option...In hindsight I wish we'd opted for meals out instead. We weren't told that the majority of the food on the menu was subject to...

Friends chose this as their wedding venue this summer. The castle and its grounds very impressive, fantastic setting for a wedding. Staff very good and canapés exceptional. Food itself for the wedding breakfast was as expected for event catering, very enjoyable. As always drinks in the bar fairly expensive, but very pleasant bar area and a few other rooms to...

We visited the restaurant for afternoon tea . I had not looked at reviews before arriving so took things as we found. On arriving at reception, very pleasantly greeted and shown door we needed to go through to the restaurant, the glass in it had not been cleaned in a long while , just as the large mirror at the...

Myself and a friend stayed at Ruthin Castle this past weekend for one night as we managed to get a package deal that included a 2 course dinner and breakfast. Right from our arrival the staff were super friendly and helpful and we were swiftly checked in, given our room key, handed some hotel information and were offered help with...

What a great place to stay, the history, the grounds, the spa, the peacocks! Walking distance to the historic town. Went the the medieval banquet with some American friends, was fun and fantastic and very clever. They said it was the best night of their one month trip!

My daughter and I try to visit a different castle hotel each year for an overnight stay. This is the most disappointing stay to date. The castle gates and sweeping driveway up to the castle are very impressive, as is the reception area. Our check-in was efficient and helpful. However.......... The overall impression is that the place is 'grubby' and...

We came on the dinner breakfast and stay deal for £199. We enjoyed the spa faculties and found the beautician there very kind helpful and welcoming. Check in wasn't fantastic we found very little information on anything from the girl. The service in restaurant and bar was professional and efficent and friendly. The food was fabulous in the evening. Breakfast...

Food disappointing especially as gourmet break. Menu was limited but roughly only two of the options for each course didn't include a supplement. Total supplement costs was 23.00. Sat down for meal at 8pm and menu said everything cooked to order so expect delays but we had finished our starter and main corse by 8.30 and we were being asked...
