Stayed here for 2 nights and had a excellent stay. The hotel is in a great location and very historical. Food is super and service 10/10. We are really looking forward to going again. Close to visiting lots of places.

There was a good and simple check-in process at this Wetherspoon Hotel/pub, ably carried out by HJ who explained most of what we needed to know. This fine Georgian building dates from c1730 and is right in the heart of Ruthin, a small town in North Wales. It has three floors all served by stairs only, which in parts are... More

Ive stayed here a few times and room 104 was very disappointing. Not from appearance or comfort, from the noise from the High Voltage Electrical Box buzzing all night in the room and from the room being situated over the kitchen freezers making an noise coming on and off all night. Not much else I can say. Staff as always... More

I was brought up with this hotel and thanks to Wetherspoon this iconic building has been saved from a very uncertain future. Their staff are first rate and the quality of their catering does not pretend to be something it is not. For a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel with good quality plain cooking Wetherspoon cannot be bettered.

We booked the disabled access room, which was in a separate building just by the patio area of the pub. This also came with its own parking space just a few yards away. The room was spacious with a huge wet room, although being an old building the bedroom floor was slightly uneven, and the beds were very comfortable. Good... More

This Hotel excelled our expectations and the friendliness of the staff was most welcoming. Our room, 101, despite its unfortunate number, ( though I can now say I was put in Room 101) held a beautiful aspect looking across Ruthin Square and provided amply for our needs. a separate smaller room for Granny and Mum and Corey, both in separate... Stayed in the single room on a Friday night. Decent room, clean and tidy. But it was on the first floor, right above the bar. Could hear the noise from the bar until 1.20am. Then at 6am the cleaners were in hoovering. Stayed in double rooms higher up the building previously and had no problems. I won't book the single... More

The room was ok. Nice and spacious if a bit old fashioned but a lovely view looking over the square in the gorgeous town of Ruthin. The food however was grim. Starter Tesco chicken strips over cooked followed by a main of mashed potato mush. Should have gone to one of the many good restaurants in this classy town.

We had numerous rooms booked for different combinations of nights for a family wedding. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable. I went in several different rooms with family members over the course of our stay and they were all of an excellent standard and beautifully appointed. I had bought flowers and... More

Enjoyable stay with excellent staff always available to assist. Good to have car park space free of charge. Location in centre of small town allowed us to walk around safely. Ate at the Castle for breakfast and meal in the evening. Very busy in the early evening but stills space to sit. Food good and better value than surrounding restaurants.
