We stayed for just the one night at the Bishopgate Hotel on a day trip to North Wales. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, the hotel is small (10 rooms I think) , comfortable and very quirky. Rooms and linen/towels were spotless with toiletries provided. The highlight of our visit was the evening meal- probably the best restaurant meal...

Came here for my birthday meal. Despite the terrible stormy weather, we were extrenely cosy. The room was lovely and quite big, the bed was extremely comfy. The staff were attentative and extremely friendly and the food was out of this world! To say we got this all on a deal too was fantastic!! Would definitely come back here soon!

We have stayed before, but this time went with friends. Same quirky, historical building in great location - however weather pretty horrendous so unable to venture out! Delicious food for dinner + breakfast - well-trained staff, friendly + attentive without being overbearing. Do stay or eat at this great hostelry!

Came here on a Travelzoo deal and what a deal it was! Despite the wet and wild weather we braved the roads and were rewarded with a lovely stay. Our room was spacious and had a lovely bathroom and the lounge areas were very inviting - we decided to sit by the fire and have a drink and play some...

We stayed for 3 nights on a dealmonster/travel zoo offer. As many previous reviewers have stated this is an old building, but bearing this in mind has character and quirkiness compared to many places. We had the "infamous" room 3 that is so talked about on here. It is a bit tight, and the bathroom is about due for a...

We stayed the one night and had dinner in the restaurant. It was an excellent experience. Dinner was a great experience - delicious, well presented and of very good quality. Our room was very nice, spacious, clean and roomy. Breakfast was very good. Lots of choice and of very good quality. All in all, an excellent experience which we hope...

We stayed for one wet, windy night. The Hotel was warm, welcoming and very clean. The decor is a bit dated. The food was exceptionally good. There was a good selection, well served and very tasty. I would really recommend eating there. The breakfast was much better than those "help yourself" buffets, which can be like cardboard.

We stayed for two nights in the Bishopsgate Hotel in November during the worst gales and rain for a long time, but we couldn't have been in a better place. Our bedroom was a cosy and comfortable retreat from the awful weather conditions outside. The staff who looked after us were all charming and attentive and the food they served...

Stayed here for one night. We were on the top floor. The room was clean if a little dated. The television did not work and even though I phoned reception to ask if this was a common problem I was told it was due to the wind!!! I know that having a tv is not that important but it was dissapointing as...
