Overall very clean, quiet and friendly. I would recommend to couples, families or individuals. Very good value for money. Donna and her team are welcoming and friendly and just lovely people.

We stayed in the Wheelchair friendly/Superking room as this was the last one available for our dates. The bed was amazingly comfortable and HUGE. There were seats at the front of the room and you are given a private spce at the back too. There are seat cushions and a blanket in the room to take outside with you if you want.

The room has a TV, mini fridge and a microwave along with the kettle/tea/coffee/hot chocolate etc. They also included packets of tissues and hand sanitizer in the room. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower, and hand soap and lotion by the sink.

Underfloor heating in the wetroom was a nice touch and the towels were super soft and cozy.

The included breakfast was plentiful and cooked to perfection, the eggs were runny but not underdone and it was not greasy at all. There were many breakfast options and vegetarian options too.

You get great privacy as each room has its own front door that opens straight to outside, so there is no noise of other guests wondering around hallways, and you do not feel like you are disturbing other guests if you get back late. You can park almost straight outside your room.

COVID 19 Measurements-
Donna and her staff all wore protective face coverings and gloves whenever we saw them and waited on everyone in the breakfast room to avoid multiple people touching pots/utensils etc. You have to book a time for breakfast as this helps reduce the number of people in the dining room at any one time. As soon as a table clears, Donna and her staff clear eveything away and then clean the table AND chairs that were used.

The rooms were very clean and had hand sanitiser. House keeping was on hold, however, if you wanted fresh towels you just had to pop your old ones in the provided bag and leave it outside your room.

There were social distancing signs and hand sanitiser at reception.

We visited during Covid restrictions, so the review below reflects the very Covid safe arrangements in place, at the time.

Having travelled extensively, it is rare to find a room so spotlessly clean and so well equipped, including: a wonderfully comfortable super king size bed; a large flat screen TV; plenty of room for making drinks with a good supply of tea, coffee, milk etc. provided; mirrors in exactly the right places for doing make up and hair; plenty of wardrobe space and hangers; a mini fridge; a great shower with plenty of toiletries provided, and even outside areas, front and back, for eating and taking in the surroundings!

As if that weren't reason enough to book the Estuary Lodge, literally nothing is too much trouble for Donna and her excellent team. Service is highly efficient and professional, and yet super friendly, welcoming and warm. We happened to mention that we had only just realised that the local pub was closed, on Mondays, so no food was available. Within minutes, there was a knock on the door, with Donna offering to fetch a take-away for us, from the next village. Although this offer came completely out of the blue, this was typical of the warm, positive response we received to any request we made, and any advice or supplies we needed, during our stay.

The location is excellent for exploring the Harlech area and even further south; fabulous Portmeirion is only a few minutes away and the Lleyn Peninsula is easily accessible. We particularly enjoyed a visit to the world famous Welsh National Garden, in Bodnant, towards the north coast of Conwy, via Betws y coed. Although there is only one pub in Talsarnau, the next village, Penrhyndeudraeth, which is only 6 minutes away by car, has a Spar supermarket a pub, a Chinese take away, Indian and vegetarian restaurants and an excellent Fish and Chip shop, should you want to eat locally, or outside, at the lodge. Donna also provides an eating area, should you wish to dine inside.

Our English breakfast was consistently good and served by Donna and the delightful Sylvia and Wandee, who were characteristically
friendly and generously provided for our every need.

Thanks to Donna and her wonderful team, and to their hard work and their very obvious attention to detail and customer focus, we had a fantastically memorable staycation and will certainly be back! Service at all times was incredibly friendly and welcoming, without ever being intrusive.

I really can't recommend this place highly enough. For its warmth of welcome and generosity of spirit, which are expertly blended with ultra efficient and professional service, it really deserves to be an enormous success.

Thanks to all of the team, for a wonderful experience!

We chose Estuary Lodge based on the strong reviews and we weren't disappointed. We received clear information prior to arrival in relation to Covid-19 measures which was reassuring. Upon arrival we were greater by Donna & her husband. Our room was a great size, completely spotless and had a mini fridge with milk & bottled water (in addition to tea, coffeee & biscuits). There was also the added bonus of a private outside space & seating. The freshly cooked breakfast each morning was of the upmost quality and service was very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very comfortable. I highly recommend a stay here and if visiting this part of Wales again, we will definitely be booking here again!

We were to attend a wedding in July in Portmerion Village and I spent some time researching places within reasonable distance which could accommodate my mobility issues at a sensible price for the 5 nights of our stay. . I rang Donna, explaining my needs and we were allocated Room8 where we had a level access shower and parking directly outside. Communication was great with several emails explaining the covid measures etc. The room was open, key inside, so we could arrive whenever between 3 and 7 but you have order breakfast by 7.00pm online. We had some issues trying to logon to order as you need Google docs but Donna came to the room to check we'd done it. Wifi was excellent throuout our stay though phone signals were an issue in the room, TV channels also very limited. As . mentioned in other reviews, there is a small but welcome kitchette. I put a glass bottle in the fridge horizontally and it immediately fell out and smashed so within an hour of arriving we were causing problems. The whole situation, cleaning, changing the mat, re-sanitising was dealt with without any fuss or recrimination. Breakfast is at 8 or 9 and has a limited but adequate menu, freshly cooked, especially the full welsh. Tables were set out and followed covid rules, all 2 metre apart. I asked to change chairs and this was always there afterwards., your choices for the next day is taken during breakfast. all the staff were pleasant and chatty, remembering previous conversations etc.
The room was large, the bed the best I have slept in in a hotel for several years, more than enough storage, the quality of the bedding, white towels, crockery and glasses way above expectation. I loved the dark purple make-up facecloth to save getting it on the nice white towels!! There was no housekeeping due to covid but all consumables could be requested at breakfast for replacements and there was a system for getting fresh towels. I could have done with a pack of wipes to clean the kitchen area which were supplied straight away with a thought of putting them in all units. We were asked to recycle without guidelines or bags , just the bins in the carpark, Our outside area was pleasant. there is apparently a sunroom where you can eat takeaway but it was closed. The local pub serves food wed-sat and it is not easy to find places open if you want something at 7.00pm on a Sunday evening. Donna recommended a pub in the next village and we got the last but 1 table. Due to the increase in staycations you must book at the more popular places and prices seem to have increased due to demand!, expect to eat where you can get a table or a takeaway on the sea front!. Great loction to tour area with a warm welcome.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Estuary Lodge.

The room was lovely, spotlessly clean and had all the facilities we could need (including microwave, fridge, tea/coffee/hot choc). The beds were comfortable and the towels were incredibly fluffy - some of the best towels I have ever used!! It was really handy being able to park directly outside the room too for loading and unloading.

Breakfast was fantastic with a simple ordering process the day before. Me and my boyfriend are both vegetarian and there was plenty of choice for us. My boyfriend is also gluten free and was provided with GF bread to accompany his breakfast. The vegetarian sausages contained gluten (something we are familiar with) but Donna took the time to ask us which specific brands we usually eat so she can make sure she can cater to GF/veggies in the future which was a nice touch. The staff at breakfast were very attentive and constantly refilling our coffee and making sure we had everything we needed.

The location was perfect for exploring North Wales and everything we planned on visiting was just a short drive away. We tried to visit the pub down the road but it was very busy. We ended up just driving out for dinner and enjoying drinks in our room afterwards.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again!

I honestly can't describe what a beautiful experience it was to stay here. As a wheelchair user, I struggle with adapted accommodation because it's so difficult to get right for business' which I understand.
However, Donna and the staff here have done a brilliant job, and have the most amazing roll in wet room, complete with shower seats, hand rails and sliding door into the area. Perfect for the wheelchair. The access is all flat with no lips to make it difficult for wheelchairs. This made our lives so much easier than normal.
The room was immaculate, just like the grounds of the building. From the wall paper to lovely bedding and furniture, the place is so homely and clean it really has been given a touch of love by the owners. This Lodge was recommended to us, and we now know why. It's beautiful, and though it sounds like a cliché, the staff really can not do enough for you.
Within minutes of arriving, Donna (Owner) came to see us, to check how the room was for the wheelchair Not wishy washy 'have a nice day' type of checking on us, it was matter of fact, and she made it clear that if the slightest thing wasn't right, to let her know, and it would be sorted out.
Estuary Lodge was very much Covid-19 aware and compliant. There was hand sanitiser in our room, and the staff wore masks at all times, and were constantly wiping down after every guest, meal etc.
Most places have tea and coffee facilities in the room for guests, with the biscuit thrown in too. This place had all this, along with fridge and microwave, but as little things go, the 'pint of fresh milk' is a new one on us, but it was so greatly appreciated, along with the complimentary bottles of water, and it basically tells guests that these people are geared very much from the guests perspective.
The breakfast was great, the usual on offer, but again, the quality was there in the sausages for example. The dining room like everywhere else is immaculate, beautifully decorated, and ultra clean.
We visit places like this all the time, and most are OK to Good in general. I can honestly say this is the most lovely place to stay, with the nicest, down to earth people who showed us so much respect, care and concern for own personal needs, we can't thank them enough. Love, love, love this place, and 100% we will be visiting here many times in the future. Massive thanks to Donna and the staff, who thoroughly deserve this review, which I've taken the time to write because a) It's a true reflection of our stay, and b) because f there are any others looking to stay here, they will be in safe hands....

Spent 3 nights in this motel.

The premises is situated in a great location for exploring snowdonia and the coast.

The room was spotless and had everything you needed and more, including a microwave and fridge complete with complimentary fresh milk.

Room was spacious and the bed was super comfy...even had it's own little back patio area.

Breakfast was pre-ordered but of the highest quality produce served attentively on all 3 mornings by the staff.

Room was not serviced but every day we were asked if we required anything so this was not a problem.

If I visited the area again I would certainly use this establishment.

The Estuary Lodge Motel was a short notice find as a birthday treat for my partner, and we did not regret it.

It was excellent value for money. You have access to a kettle, a fridge and a microwave so it feels like a little home away from home. They even provided a pint of milk.

Every area was exceptionally clean. You do not lose any water pressure even when other guests are showering and the towels are lovely. The TV is an appropriate size for the room when viewing from the bed.

Our room had seating at the front and back so you do not feel cooped up at all.
It is on a main road through town but you do not notice it while in your room. It is also perfectly located for accessing destinations like Harlech, Barmouth and Porthmadog.

The hosting at breakfast is very personal and attentive, and you can expect to find your table set up ready at your requested time. Staff are really friendly and interested, even looking up places to get more information for you.

The local pub is nice for a pint, but the restaurant is very busy if you haven't booked. Expect to venture further afield for evening meals.

We look forward to visiting again.

A couple of days away to an area we have not visited for some time. Because my wife is disabled we wanted somewhere that would suit her needs. Estuary Lodge fitted the bill perfectly on paper - and in reality.
The rooms are all accessible from the car park with individual spaces for each room. The room we had was spacious, well equipped and very clean. The bathroom was 'disabled friendly' and large enough to get a wheelchair in if required. Also a small patio/sitting out area.
The breakfast room was also spacious, very clean and modern and the breakfasts were prepared to order and well cooked/presented.
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very helpful.

No Plates or cutlery but there were glasses. However if you speak to Donna, the owner, I think she would be able to provide those for you.

I was actually at the Estuary Lodge on business when your dog attacked the chickens, I heard the noise and I unfortunately saw the aftermath. If you read these other reviews here you will see that they are all 5* reviews including my own and even you have given 3*s, why would you even give 1* if you were treated so badly? The chickens that your dog killed May not lay golden eggs but they were a rare breed and had come from Shrewsbury, not that it is relevant as it doesn't matter what breed the animals are or where they come from, what matters is you did not have full control of your dog and it actually killed 4 or 5 of the family's pets! THAT is unforgivable! Please ask your self some questions. 1. Who was responsible for the dog that killed the family's pets? 2. Not that it would make any difference but did you even offer an apology? I didn't hear one as you were too busy wanting to explain your actions. 3. Look at the other reviews here. Do you think your review is fair? 4. What would you do if somebody else's animal killed your pets. Your animal now has the taste for blood. The family at Estuary lodge has a small grandchild that is a toddler. After your dog killed their pets, there was no way that they would/could let you or your animals stay. Nobody in their right mind would. Can you not see that? Why would they refund you after you allowed your dog to carry out such an act. You're actually lucky that they did not report you. After being there that day and witnessing how upset the Williams family were and listening to you offer to pay for the chickens as I drank my coffee, I cannot believe that you have the cheek to leave this review. If you had any conscience you would delete it!

Hi Craig, Just read your response above - until then had no idea what you were talking about. Hope this thread does not damage the hard earned reputation of the Estuary Lodge - suggest you ask Trip Advisor to take the whole thread down. David
