Detailed Reviews
We had a wedding to attend at Portmeirion but wanted to stay somewhere a little more friendly on the pocket!
We arrived early evening to a warm welcome and a lovely warm room! Our hosts were very friendly and recommended we visit the Ring pub (which was excellent and well worth the short drive!) The bed was incredibly comfy and the room a really good size.
Breakfast was served in the kitchen and was lovely with lots of toast, tea, coffee, juice and a variety of hot choices.
We were offered a lift to Portmeirion which was very kind, although we decided to drive.
The location is beautiful and we'd love to come back to explore a bit more!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Awel Y Mynydd. We had a fantastic stay. The room was clean and had every facility you needed. The tea and biscuits and cake was a nice touch when arriving from a busy day out. The breakfasts were amazing and so filling, that we didn’t eat again until the evening. Nothing was too much trouble for Eirwen. Barry was also so helpful with the info he gave us on the surrounding area. We would highly recommend this accommodation and would not stay anywhere else if we visit the area again. We especially had a huge soft spot for Monty. 😊

Hello Phil and Donna and thanks for your wonderful review. It is so nice to receive a review on Tripadvisor for a change. We are only ranked 5 out of 6 in Talsarnau because we get so few reviews. We have had 43 reviews from people who have stayed here and everyone was excellent! This is not what the others ahead of us can claim. All three of us, Monty included look forward to perhaps welcoming you once again. Reards Barry

What a treasure in rural Wales. We’ve just come back from a visit to Portmeirion and stayed at Awel y Mynydd and couldn’t have had a warmer welcome. It’s immaculately clean, in a beautiful location, with a spacious and comfortable room, and our host cooked the best ever cooked breakfasts! Five stars.

My boyfriend had booked to stay here for two nights as a birthday surprise for me, a nice little 'getaway'. I was amazed at how much I fell in love with this place. The double room was very spacious and had tea and coffee making facilities, even hot chocolate (my favourite). There is also a T.V on the wall which had very good picture quality. The en-suite is lovely, the shower is very powerful which I loved. The people who own and live there are two of the nicest and friendliest people I've ever met. Very welcoming and pleasing. A cooked breakfast is on offer (delicious) as well as hot drinks, juice, cereal and toast. Would definitely book to stay here again, and hopefully for a lot longer. My boyfriend is in my good books forever now. Wonderful.

Booked for a 3 night stay with my wife and what a lovely choice we made. Excellent ensuite bedroom, with a small fridge (fresh milk ready and waiting) and tea/coffee making facilities as well as free wifi. A first class full English breakfast to start the day, which we reduced as our stay progressed! The owners were delightful and very helpful with recommendations for places to visit and where to eat.
It's a short 10 minutes drive into Porthmadog and the very popular railways.
It's over 20 years since we were last in the area, it won't be as long until next time and we'll certainly look to rebook here.

Stayed here on the 15th of January, had hoped to arrive in the daylight to admire the views but didnt, however well signed post from the road making it easy to find and this place sits at the top of a hill. Nice warm welcome when I arrived.
Room was of very good size, very clean and tidy like the fridge in the room which was a nice touch along with the bottle of milk, also free access to there Wifi which was of very good speed.Got a very good nights sleep woke up and refreshed.
Nice powerful shower in Bathroom which was lovely too.
Cooked Breakfast was good set me up for the day, also toast, coffee and fruit juice, though was asked if I wanted extra toast .
Was raining when I left which was a shame as I would imagine the views would have been very good.

I recently booked this accommodation with booking.com ( they were wonderful) however I couldn't be more unsatisfied with the owners of this place. First of all I booked this place for a special surpise birthday weekend away.. yes we did only book for one night however we had 3 different actives planned for the weekend,I received a phone call around 3 weeks before telling me " I need to cancel my booking," after first being shocked and asking the man on the phone to repeat himself he said again in an abrupt tone you need to cancel and went on to say that his brother was having a birthday party and he was going so he wouldn't be there for our stay.. I explained it was a birthday getaway and that we had plans while in Wales and in that area, but all I got was there is other places to stay and again telling me I need to cancel as he couldn't. I wouldn't mind but I had booked this accomidation around a month earlier. I then got in touch with booking.com who helped a lot, but never heard from the man again. He made no attempts with me to help find other accommodation, I had to find this on my own with the help of booking.com! This place may have good reviews before my own however the way I was spoken to was terrible, showing no good customer service/friendly approach. I was luckily enough to find a better place to stay.
I would never stay at this place. and I would never recommend it to anyone.

Madam, I am sure that all businesses have to make cancellations from time to time and this was one such occasion. Firstly, I think you need to refresh your memory and then get your facts right. You are right that 23 days before you were due to arrive for your one night stay with your boyfriend I did ring you to ask if you would mind cancelling your booking due to the fact that my brother and his wife were having a fiftieth wedding anniversary dinner. This was a very special event. I always speak to people politely on the phone, especially if I am asking a favour of them. To you I was no different and I did not speak rudely or abruptly. I asked you if you would cancel with booking.com and as they always do, they came back to me and asked for alternative accommodation. This I did and found you a place that had a very high rating, was at the same price and was in a nearby location. Your facts are therefore totally wrong, I did care and found alternative accommodation! You say that the new place was much better but you will never know because you have never stayed here and you never will.

This is by far the nicest B&B we have ever stayed in. We chose the twin room which was really spacious with a large en-suite bathroom. Barry and Eirwen were perfect hosts offering suggestions for places to eat locally. On our first evening Barry kindly dropped us off in Harlech as we had booked a meal at the Carribean restaurant by Harlech Castle. We were extremely grateful for the lift as it saved around £12 in a taxi. The location of the B&B is so peaceful and tranquil - set in 26 acres of land the views are spectacular. The breakfast cooked by Eirwen sets you up for the day and is taken in her farmhouse kitchen. We felt so relaxed here and didn't want to leave. Highly recommended for all types of traveler.

Excellent clean and well presented rooms, comfy beds, and great shower pressure. Friendly and warm hosts. Delicious cooked breakfasts served in the kitchen/diner Eirwen made you feel part of the family. The location is ideal to access most of Wales and has lovely views. Quiet rural outlook with no traffic noise, just sheep, hens and owls - perfect! Went for two days but stayed for five!.
