Yr Hen Farcdy is a beautiful semi-detached cottage situated in the foothills of the Rhinogs,at the end of a gated track. In a private section of the cottage the rooms have views over the lovely garden,surrounding countryside and ancient oak woodland. If you are looking for a quiet, friendly retreat with clear star lit skies, well placed comfortable accommodation and great food , look no further!

Another great stay with Mike,Sue and Rusty spanner… this little place is great. Mike and Sue made us feel like part of their family and we couldn’t have been more welcomed. The home they share with visitors is spotless and cosy, the breakfast Mike makes is the best we’ve had and his homemade bread tops it all off. We’ve stayed here twice now and will 100% be register visitors to stay.

Stayed for 2 nights in August 2020. Were welcomed by the excellent hosts Sue & Mike. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms a double and twin with shared bathroom for the 2 rooms was clean and well appointed. A great choice of breakfast was served fresh daily at a time agreed with us. The area is quiet and without a car is secluded. Lovely place to stay if you want a quiet place/retreat. Area was a little quiet for us.

The accommodation was spotless, the breakfast delicious and the B&B is situated in a lovely part of North Wales. What really makes this place stand out is the hosts, they are so friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. There is a area outside the bedroom with a couple of chairs to enjoy a coffee. It is highly recommended.

Wow what a little gem of a find. We had the most amazing welcome to this very cosy and quaint cottage. We loved all of the thoughtful little touches and Sue and Mike went up and beyond making us feel so welcome. Fab full English breakfast too. Highly recommended and we will be definitely booking again. Thank you Sue and Mike for being fantastic hosts.

A truly magical place located in a peaceful location. Mike and Sue are friendly fun hosts , so easy to fall in love with this place. Lovely room, comfortable bed, private sitting area to relax and a good bathroom. Always love a place with interesting pictures, good selection of books and fairy lights in the garden. No need to close the curtains at night, garden view is a bonus. Delicious breakfast and those oatcakes. Mmmmmm. On arrival Mike spotted damaged back tyre, he drove us to a local pub that evening and arranged for a new tyre to be fixed next morning to take us safely on our way. Such kindness was much appreciated. We left Yr Hen Farcdy with happy memories to share with friends. Another visit to explore and enjoy the garden is on the cards. Thank you both so much x

Our stay at Yr Hen Farcdy was the most cosy and hospitable B&B we had the pleasure of staying at on our tour of Wales. Mike and Sue are the most amazing hosts and made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. They have a wealth of information to share about the area and can point you to all the best attractions. Our accommodation was perfect and provided everything we needed. The magical garden setting is such a peaceful surrounding and make the place very special. The breakfast was outstanding and delicious and we felt it was one of the best breakfasts of our trip. We can highly recommend Yr Hen Farcdy and would definitely return.

Stayed for two nights at this lovely picturesque B&B. Mike and Sue really make your experience feel so relaxing and comfortable. They really go that extra mile with anything you need during your stay and also with any advise needed with their local knowledge. Two really lovely hosts who are a credit to their equally lovely establishment. The accommodation is very comfortable and so peaceful. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and look amazing when the outdoor lighting is on at night. Breakfast is exceptional and our overall experience was 10 out of 10. Will be sure to return in the future.

Just enjoyed a lovely two night stay. The B&B is located in a beautiful peaceful setting within easy reach to nearby Portmeirion, Harlech and Porthmadog. Great location for those that like walking. Mike and Sue were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was fantastic. They were very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to us wanting to know where to visit whilst there. Will definitely be returning.

Communication with the hosts is very good. Mike was flying solo for our visit and we found him engaging and helpful. The facilities are great and having a separate area to sit in was a bonus. The cooked breakfast was one of the best we had while traveling around the UK. It is a short drive from here to Portmeirion.

Absolutely perfect few days away, even the fog couldn't ruin it!! Mike and Sue made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much. Clean, bright, warm and comfy. And breakfast was fabulous so much choice.
