Called for Sunday lunch on a visit to Monmouth. Faced with a choice of chicken or beef sunday roast, I opted for beef. The plate arrived quite quickly, as there were only half a dozen other diners. Three decent slices of somewhat overcooked beef, three florets of broccoli, a shard of parsnip, 2 x 1/4 fatty roast potatoes, almost black...

Stopped in on a family day trip to Monmouth... Looks nice as you walk in, found a table and ordered food. All seemed well but, long wait for food, no stake knife, no sauces, chips served cold/raw, chips taken away then reheated and given back....like we were a family of mugs! Very small portion sizes.... And cold by the time...

I have mixed feelings about this review to be honest. In some respects, it was 4-5 stars, but as I didn't get much sleep, I have to mark it lower! The staff 5 star, very attentive & pleasant. The room, 4 stars with a very comfy bed & lovely towels etc, BUT - no secondary glazing ( apparently it's a...

We stopped off enroute to Tenby, so wish we had gone to the Wetherspoon opposite. I thought I would try the Welsh Rarebit with a poached egg sounded lovely and my wife opted for the homemade organic tom soup. It was n't very busy but we had to wait an hour. When it came mine was 2 pieces of bread...

No staff. Lack of comfort and bathroom toiletries in room. Chunk out of bedroom wall. No electricity on arrival. Waited 1/2 hour to get breakfast. No parking. Good location but not enough to tempt me to stay here again.

Went to the Punch House as our usual lunch spot the The Kings Head is closed for refurbishment. This place could be good. In a pub that was not too busy at 1pm on 1st May bank holiday. Friendly service from lady behind bar. Ordered club sandwich and a steak sandwich and then waited 45/50 minutes before it arrived. Seems...

Friday afternoon on a bank holiday weekend, we came to the establishment under the promise of 2 prosecco for £5.00 How ever we order at 5.55pm and they tell us that they have no prosecco in place for the offer that they are advertising outside in the street. Which also doesn't have subject to availability in small print..... very disappointing...

Went to the Punch House for an evening meal. Only 1 person serving behind the bar and 1 waitress on Easter weekend the food took 20 minutes to arrive my husband ordered scampi chips and peas. The scampi was just about luke warm and the peas were stone cold. I had lasagne and although it was hot was sloppy and...

We were in Monmouth to visit The Savoy Theatre to see The Blues Band. We've been following them on and off for over 35 years. There seemed to be several places in town to eat and we chose this one at random. Things didn't start too well as there seemed to be quite a demand for food and only one...
