Great place for both adults and kids. There’s only a couple of spots with mobile phone reception and no free WiFi access so it’s exactly what today’s kids need in a break away!
Facilities are clean, warm and well maintained and there’s a cafe onsite if the weather’s that bad tha

We really enjoyed going here. We went out of school time and the weather was beautiful, except for a storm one night, but that just added to the thrill. Stunning views and scenery, quiet and tranquil. You can park up where you like, and we found a very quiet spot near the toilet

This is the kind of campsite that you don’t have to leave. It has a pub, a shop, beaches, a tidal stream and a harbour. This might suit you and it might not.
All the staff are really friendly, and you can be lucky or unlucky with the other campers.

Hi all, we’re heading to shell island tomorrow. Any suggestions of what to do in the area other than beach etc. We have a 2 year old. Any suggestions for him? Big cold for him to swim in the sea!!! Thanks
We didn't leave shell island. We climbed the sand dunes at night to watch the sun going down mine loved this. Bit chilly though so wrap up. I got up early and watched the sun come up behind the mountains also on the sand dunes. Lots of children were crabbing near the harbour when we went. There is a small park onsite. A small games room but I'd say this is for older children. The village you drive through looks nice to walk round if you get chance. We didn't. Plenty of space if you take some grass games like football etc.

Can anyone tell me typical weather for the halloween/bonfire weekend ?
We got blown away a few weeks ago it added to the adventure just make sure your guide ropes are tight 😁 it realy is a toss of a coin with shell but have you ever seen a more beautiful sight than when you stand on the brow of the hill up by the bathrooms and look in a 360 it takes my breath away xxx

Hi, we are coming here tomorrow and I am little bit concerned now about the negative reviews about noise at night and it not being policed. Can anybody recommend where to pitch up on the island to avoid the late night noise? Are any of the areas quieter than others? Thanks
Camp up as near to the main bathrooms as possible the security on the island are ace if there are any noisy campers phone the box and they will come straight down and sort it for you no messing about on my most recent trip we had them out they were great about asking people to turn there music down after 11 x
