We spent one night here, having booked on a whim at the last minute. We couldn't have made a better choice. Tyddyn Mawr is a wonderful old farmhouse, with lots of old beams and an inglenook fireplace in the breakfast room. Our bedroom was beautiful, with a super half tester bed. The site, close to the foot of Cader Idris,...

No wonder Olwen Evans won so many awards. We spent three nights at Tyddn Mawr in June and this B & B is really absolutely gorgeous! A wonderful room with an exceptional view to Cadar Idris, an incredible breakfast – absolutely outstanding and everyday different if you like to – and last, but not least a host who is so...

Great Welsh getaway. Wonderful views from the spacious room. Brilliant breakfast. Olwen was very helpful in picking out restaurants and things to do during the day. We went for a bike ride the next day and the scenery is beautiful. I would definately recommend this place.

Just spent 2 nights in this accommodation and could not fault it from the wonderful room with magnificent views to the scrumptious breakfast featuring home made produce by a welcoming, very pleasant host. Olwen was very helpful but not intrusive.

Tyddyn Mawr is in a wonderful location next to Cadair Idris and beautiful countryside. Mrs Evans sets a very high standard, a beautiful room and excellent breakfasts made with local produce. We also had a very good meal at the Merionydd restaurant in Dolgellau a short drive away.

The ground floor room is large, comfortable, with an exit to the garden with beautiful view of the mountains. The garden is perfectly maintained by the owner. The room was perfectly clean. The breakfast was the best Ive had in B&B so far. The room where the breakfast is served has a charm and style. Olwen is very knowledgeable of...

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Tyddyn Mawr. Nothing was too much trouble for Olwen, who gave us a warm welcome, a comprehensive tour of the fantastically warm and comfortable room (with lovely ensuite bathroom), a welcome pot of tea in the last of the sunshine in the garden, a lift back from Dolgellau when we were...

Very comfortable rooms, very good (and rather large) breakfasts with some very nice touches like the "smoothies" which I'm already missing. Charming and entertaining hostess. Splendid views right from the bedroom windows.

The views are still the same, the rooms are the same, the breakfast room is the same, breakfasts are the same, the dog is the same, the door bell is the same, the background music is the same, the land lady is the same, ... The reason we came back is also the same. And it is the same reason...

This has to be one of the warmest and hospitable guest / farmhouse b&b in which we have ever had the pleasure of staying. From the scenic mountain backdrop to the cosy and well appointed ancient buildings to the warmest of warm hospitality to the huge and healthy 5 course breakfast - what is there not to like and love...
