This was our third visit to Olwen's lovely B&B. The setting at the foot of Cadair Idris is stunning and there are many walks that can be done within minutes of the front door. Getting through the breakfast is as challenging as hiking up Cadair but it does mean you can skip lunch. The food is mainly homemade or locally...

We had a wonderful time at Tyddyn Mawr Farmhouse, besides the beautiful scenery, it's a very cozy and clean house, and the hospitality of Olwen was exceptional during the 4 days we stayed. We had a full delicious breakfast every morning, with home made fresh goodies. Also in the evenings Olwen surprised us with tea and home made pastries. The...

From the moment we arrived we were shown the most beautiful room with the most spectacular views. Olwen was the most wonderful hostess & after seeing our room we were offered tea & cakes & then shown...

My wife and I stayed at Tyddyn Mawr Farmhouse for one night on Friday 10th March 2017. The farmhouse is set a stones throw away from Cader Idris mountain in south Snowdonia so if you're looking to climb Cader Idris or visit Cregennan Lakes (Llynnau Cregeggan) then this is the perfect place to stay. However, the farmhouse is also a...

Tyddyn Mawr has got to be one of the best farmhouse B&Bs ever. We arrived very late on Friday in the wake of Storm Doris and it was cold, windy and very wet. As Tyddyn Mawr is up on the lower slopes of Cader Idris we couldn’t begin to imagine getting warm - so we were in for a lovely...

We have just returned from a 4 day 'whistle stop' tour of Snowdonia National Park & have experienced some of the finest hospitality in our extensive touring, both home & abroad. Olwen is quite simply the consummate host. From the moment we crossed the cattle grid & wound our way through the delightful grounds to this superb farmhouse retreat, we...

On our tour of the west Wales coast we stayed at Tyddyn Mawr for one night. We didn’t want to leave! The room had fantastic views across the mountain, was very comfortable, spacious, clean and warm. Then came the quality breakfast! Plenty to eat and choose from, very tasty with much of it home-made or home-grown. Dolgellau is 3 miles...
