We visited here at the beginning of September for a birthday treat. We stayed overnight as part of a deal, the rooms are lovely with nice extra touches, home made biscotti and if you ring down they will bring up fresh milk or cream for your coffee/tea. The bed was probably the highest bed I've ever slept on but very...

My wife and I dine here about twice a year, mainly on special occasions, and have done for about 5 years. I therefore think we are fairly well qualified to assess standards. We last dined there on 17 September and having looked forward to it all day we drove home feeling quite disappointed. The canapes and menu hadn't really changed,...

Probably the best restaurant I have experienced. Wonderful food, comfortable surroundings and cheerful, helpful staff. Coffee served in the pretty garden finished the meal making it a very special occasion. I particularly loved the lava bread tartlets and beautifully cooked hake.

This is a restaurant with rooms. The property is set in pretty grounds and the rooms are light and airy. Our bedroom was well decorated, comfy bed with beautiful linen. The bathroom was modern but did not have a separate shower, it was over the bath. Dinner is a very grown up affair, not for children. Drinks and canapés in...

This luxuriously quaint guest house lacks pretence and above all else makes you feel warm inside, like visiting someone's home; and those somebody's happen to be excellent hosts and food lovers. The room we stayed in was lovely; immaculate and excellently maintained and the bath robes and slippers were a nice touch. The bed was comfy and the bouquet arranged...

Stellar meal yesterday. The amuse bouche were all faultless, my chicken in a cream and tarragon sauce with morels was stunning, the saucing superb. My wife's calf's kidneys not my thing but beautifully cooked and she loved them. For desert I had the summer pudding and my wife the poached peach, both marvellous the summer pudding accompanied by a stunningly...

Four of us made an advance lunch booking to take advantage of a special Tasting Menu offer and the meal was delicious albeit served a little too swiftly for a six course menu. Our disappointment came when we were given the bill. We are always quite happy to pay an additional 10% service charge if it is deserved and in...

this was a surprise night away from hubbie on our 30th wedding anniversary, and he couldn't have chosen a better venue. Arrived mid afternoon to be shown to a lovely room on the top floor overlooking the garden. The grounds arround the hotel are pretty and the weather was warm enough to sit outside on the verandah with a bottle of...

Enjoyed a lovely 2 night break here.First night 6 course tasting menu was delicious. Wine match recommended.Very enjoyable. On our second night I chose the scallops starter which I can't recommend too highly. MY duck main course was simply sublime! We stayed in room 7 which was well appointed and very clean, only slight problem was behind a corridor door which...

We booked this through Secret Escapes the first time we have used them we arrived at the hotel and the car park was full so we had to park on the grass but managed to find a spot later so no problem. Check in was OK and we were shown to our room - we actually booked and paid for...
