The people are very welcoming and helpful. The food is excellent and, despite other reviews, served very professionally by charming staff. The atmosphere is relaxed. There is no dress code so the ties can stay at home. The grounds are beautiful and you're right in amongst the scenery you've come for. Our room looked out across the loch to the...

The Glengarry Castle Hotel is a grand residence set in beautiful grounds, with the backdrop of the Loch Oich and castle ruins. The staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming. Our room (25) was up in the gods, small but cosy with good views over the grounds. No flat-screen TV in this room but other rooms appear to have them. The...

We've stayed here a number of times. Lovely location with friendly staff. It's a little different to the run-of-the-mill "chain hotels", with character. Family run. Recommended. It's in a quiet area but has some good local walking and ideally situated for sightseeing in the great Glen area.

What a wonderful place! We stayed three nights and loved every minute. The staff was warm and welcoming, and full of helpful information about the area (especially going to the Falls of Foyers on the east side of Loch Ness), the room was warm clean and well kept, the hotel has a lot of character, and is centrally located to...

Discovered by accident near where we were staying in the Great Glen. Visited several times, first for lunch then an evening meal followed, later in the week, by a very nice afternoon tea complete with a selection of home made cakes and pastries. This place is beautifully situated, with very good food and friendly (and amazingly mostly local) staff. The...

This hotel is a nice castle, but for us the hotel had a very average quality. It just did not give us the cosy feeling. This starts when entering the lobby: ugly neon lamps destroy any comfy feeling. The dinner is poor quality, and the service is unprofessional. Upon request we find out that the staff are students. There is...

We moored our boat at the little pier on Loch Lochy and booked for dinner. We were a little apprehensive - people from a boat in a posh hotel, not dressed properly? Not to worry, we were welcomed into the drawing room with g&t's and waited for the dinner gong to sound. Enter a dining room with quality and history...

I had a wonderful weekend at the Glengarry Castle in early August. I had a single room, which had a beautiful full bathroom. The staff was excellent - very friendly and warm. And the view of Loch Oich can't be beat.

We headed for Glengarry Castle after finding ourselves in need of a bite to eat - an old copy of "Scotland the Best" suggested it might be a good idea. It was after 2pm and we were too late for lunch. But despite this we were welcomed and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in the library. The staff were warm...

Glengarry Castle Hotel has good sized rooms for families with young kids and very big warmm and comfortable bathrooms, which have been renovated. It is situated on beautiful lush grounds by Loch Oich with the haunting Glengarry Castle ruin and an eerie capsized boat on the Loch beneath the ruin. Wonderful walks and very peaceful. The only pity is that...
